Akshay Kumar starrer historical drama Prithviraj has a new name now. After being demanded by Karni Sena, the film has been renamed Samrat Prithviraj. The producers have reportedly written a letter to the national president, youth president, and the Maharashtra president of the Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena on Friday to convey their decision that the film has now been titled Samrat Prithviraj.

“As per the multiple rounds of discussions between us, and to peacefully and amicably resolve the raised grievance, we will change the title of the Film to “Samrat Prithviraj”. We are highly appreciative of the mutual agreement reached between us that you have no further objections with regards to our Film and that all other points raised by you earlier are no longer a point of contention between us. We thank Shri Rajput Karni Sena and its members for understanding our good intentions pertaining to the depiction of the great warrior in the Film. We are grateful to have your complete support, locally and globally, for release of the Film and for the assurances provided in your letter,” read a part of the letter penned by the CEO of YRF.

Just a few days ago, reports had it that Karni Sena, who had expressed their concern over the film, gave a green signal after viewing it. However, they further demanded for a title change, asking filmmakers to add ‘Samrat’ to the title. The request by the Sena has now been accepted by the makers of Prithviraj.

Speaking of Samrat Prithviraj, Akshay Kumar will be playing the titular role along with Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana among others. The film also marks the debut of former beauty pageant winner Manushi Chhillar and it is directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi. The film is slated to release on June 3, 2022.

South Korean singer-actor IU has reportedly stepped down from participating in the upcoming drama Money Game (literal title) following which, actress Chun Woo Hee has been roped in to replace her.

According to Korean tabloid Soompi, Studio N officially announced on May 27, that IU had left the cast of the upcoming drama due to scheduling conflicts. Based on Bae Jin Soo’s webtoons Money Game and Pie Game, the upcoming drama will tell the story of a high-stakes game in which eight participants are placed under extreme circumstances after being cut off from the rest of society. The contestants attempt to gather and hold onto as much money as possible before the game ends—which only happens when someone dies.

The singer-actress was previously confirmed to join a star-studded lineup of stars including Ryu Jun Yeol, Park Jung Min, Park Hae Joon, Bae Sung Woo, Lee Joo Young, Lee Yul Eum, and Moon Jung Hee.

Following IU’s exit from her role, actress Chun Woo Hee has now joined the cast of Money Game as her replacement. Filming for the show is currently scheduled to begin in mid-June.

The much-awaited fifth installment in the Indiana Jones film franchise will officially hit the theatres on June 30, 2023 as announced by franchise star Harrison Ford who also revealed the first look photo from the movie.

Harrison Ford appeared Thursday at the Lucasfilm panel at Star Wars Celebration to announce that Indiana Jones 5 will debut on June 30, 2023 with Harrison Ford set to reprise the role of legendary hero archaeologist. The film, whose filming is reportedly “almost done” and will again feature the music of John Williams, will be directed by James Mangold.

According to Deadline, Williams joined the event to conduct the live orchestra in his Indiana Jones theme before Ford was introduced. The Star Wars music master also led the group in the first live performance of the Obi-Wan Kenobi theme.

With plot details being hushed, Jez Butterworth, John-Henry Butterworth and Mangold are set to co-write the screenplay. Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel are producers. The first image revealed for Indiana Jones 5 shows Indiana Jones with his iconic hat exploring what seems to be a massive cave, crossing a seemingly weak rope bridge.

As noted by the outlet, Indiana Jones 5 had originally received a July 10, 2020 release date and later July 29 of this year, but pandemic delays and previous helmer Steven Spielberg’s work completing West Side Story sidelined production. The film’s ensemble cast also includes Antonia Banderas, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann and Toby Jones.

The Mandalorian season 3 now officially has a streaming release date along with a new poster. At Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm revealed that Season 3 of the flagship live-action Star Wars series is set to debut on Disney+ in February of 2023.

As reported by Variety, the Ahsoka spinoff, starring Rosario Dawson as Anakin Skywalker’s former Padawan, is also slated to arrive sometime in 2023, as announced at the Thursday Star Wars Celebration. In-person attendees at Star Wars Celebration were shown an exclusive teaser, which featured Mando dealing with the repercussions of removing his sacred Mandalorian helmet. It was also announced that Katee Sackhoff is returning as Bo-Katan Kryze in an antagonist role.

The Mandalorian recently wrapped production on its third season, which is set to continue the adventures of Din Djarin (Pablo Pascal), a Mandalorian warrior. The Star Wars series is being led by Pedro Pascal as a lone Mandalorian gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy. Pascal’s character also recently appeared throughout the Disney+ series The Book of Boba Fett.

The Mandalorian comes from executive producers Jon Favreau, Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, Karen Gilchrist, and Carrie Beck. Favreau is also set as the showrunner and one of its directors. The season will once again be written by Favreau, and Carl Weathers is set to return to the Star Wars universe as a director as well as his character Greef Karga. Pedro Pascal is also set to return as the titular Mando with Grogu by his side. Christopher Lloyd is also expected to appear in a guest star role this season. Filming officially wrapped on March 29, 2022.
