Currently, the box office favourite for the audience remains to be the horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 featuring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani. The film is setting new records post the pandemic lull that the industry is trying to recoup from. Considering all these factors, this franchise has become quite special to the producers too. In a recent conversation with the website Pinkvilla, producers Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani spoke about considering Bhool Bhulaiyaa and yet another film Kabir Singh as a franchise.

Speaking about the same, Bhushan Kumar revealed his desire to spin Kabir Singh into a franchise. Producer Murad Khetani mentioned that it is a popular character too. Agreeing to the same, the owner of T-Series said, “It’s an iconic character and can be taken into a second part.” Interestingly, the Shahid Kapoor, Kiara Advani film in itself is a remake of the popular Telugu film Arjun Reddy which featured Vijay Devarakonda and Shalini Pandey.

On the other hand, the Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a sequel to the Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan and Shiny Ahuja film that released in 2007, albeit with a different storyline and characters. Confirming about Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, they were quoted adding, “There is enough scope in the premise and we will announce more details at the right time.”

Furthermore, Bhushan Kumar also spoke about his wish to add another film to the Aashiqui franchise. Aashiqui featuring Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal was a massive success owing to its music. 13 years later after the original franchise, Aashiqui 2 released with Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur as leads, and this film too went on to succeed at the box office. It seems that the producer is planning on recreating the same success with Aashiqui 3.

However, these franchise films are currently in talks and further details on the same are yet to be locked. But we can’t wait to see how these films will look like!

Bollywood Hungama was the first one to break the news that filmmakers Ajay Kapoor and Subhash Kale are collaborating on the ambitious project Garud. The film is mounted on a large scale and will present a heartening story, which will be inspired by the true events of the Afghan rescue crisis. Now, Ajay Kapoor has signed the international director Rotem Shamir, known for globally acclaimed successes like Fauda, Hit & Run, Hostages etc. to helm their big-budget project. Garud will also mark Rotem Shamir’s Indian film debut.

Mounted on a large scale, Ajay Kapoor and Subhash Kale have been devising the best treatment for the ambitious film and hence, roping in the best team possible. Taking the first step towards the visionary aim, Ajay Kapoor has taken on board the international director Rotem Shamir, for his first Indian project.

Announcing this development, Ajay Kapoor shares, “Garud is a huge project for me. I’m emotionally driven to the film and want to give it the best treatment possible. Rotem Shamir is a renowned filmmaker and has a great experience in the sensibilities that we are looking at for Garud. Rotem Shamir and I are planning various projects together as a team. Being from Israel and having made a show about the conditions of hostages, the understanding and vision he possesses will definitely help us. We wanted someone to grasp the emotional quotient as well as cater to the international sensibilities as the subject has a universal appeal.”

Subhash Kale shares, “Right from the inception, we have been working on bringing together the best team possible for Garud. We are tapping into all avenues, and I am really looking forward to this project.”

Rotem Shamir says, “Garud is a very exciting film. While it is focused on the Indian aspect of the story, it has a universal appeal that promises to connect with people all across. I have been fascinated with the content from the Indian entertainment industry for a long time. Hence, when Ajay Kapoor brought this film to me, I knew I had to take it. I am especially looking forward to working with Ajay Kapoor, who has been associated with so many varied films. I am also really excited for a long term association with Ajay Kapoor.”

Ajay Kapoor has backed films like Parmanu (2018), Pari (2018), Bazaar (2018), Pataakha (2018), Romeo Akbar Walter (2019) and Roy (2015) and has also been associated with Baby (2015), Airlift (2016), Attack (2022) etc.

Inspired by real events, Garud presents a fictionalized depiction of the rescue mission in Afghanistan, based on the story of an ITBP officer and his team of special forces. The makers had earlier announced the project with a motion poster in 2021 that caught the attention of the public. Offering an insight into the film, the motion poster presented the theme song ‘Mera Bharat Hai Mahaan’, composed by Ravi Basrur of KGF fame. The reputed music composer has also composed the background score of the film.

Produced under the banners of Ajay Kapoor Productions and Vikrant Studio, Ajay Kapoor and Subhash Kale are expected to announce the cast of Garud soon.

While taking to his social media, the actor shared a picture of himself along with the director of his upcoming International venture Laxman Lopez director, Roberto Girault, and writer Sammy Sarzoza as he finishes up his reading and is all set to start the shoot from this Christmas.

He further wrote the caption, “Just finished the virtual reading of #LaxmanLopez in this beautiful weather & now thinking about filming this during the Christmas Month in New York with my Director #RobertoGirault & Writer #SammySarzoza P.S – ठंड की सोच के अभी से कप-कपी छूट रही है ।”

Strong Woman Do Bong Soon sequel is officially happening. For years, there were speculations around the sequel but cast wasn’t confirmed. But, now, Lee Yoo Mi, Ong Seong Wu, Byun Woo Seok, Kim Hae Sook and Kim Jung Eun have been confirmed to star in the sequel titled Strong Woman Kang Nam Soon.

Squid Game and All Of Us Are Dead breakout star Lee Yoo Mi will be headlining the project with the two males played by More Than Friends star Ong Seong Wu and Record Of Youth actor Byun Woo Seok. According to Korean tabloid Soompi, “The sequel will revolve around Do Bong Soon’s distant cousin Kang Nam Soon, who has immense strength. Not only does she have great power, but so does her mother Hwang Geum Joo and grandmother Gil Joong Gan.”

Taking on the titular role, Lee Yoo Mi will play the role of Kang Nam Soon who is cheerful young woman with great abilities. She was a missing child in Mongolia and came to Gangnam to find her parents. Kim Hae Sook, veteran South Korean actor, will essay the role of Kang’s maternal grandmother Gil Joong Gan. Kim Jung Eun will play the role of Hwang Geum Joo who is wealthy and righteous woman in Gangnam doing good deeds in search for her daughter.

Ong Seong Woo takes on the role of detective Kang Hee Sik, from secret investigation team, who is working on investigating drugs in Gangnam. Byun Woo Seok plays the antagonist Ryu Si Oh.

The sequel, which will center around new drug crimes in Gangnam, will be penned by Mine writer Baek Mi Kyung and helmed by Work Later, Drink Now director Kim Jung Sik. The makers plan to begin filming this year and the series will premiere in first half of 2023.
