Ayushmann Khurrana is gearing up for the theatrical release of his upcoming film Anek directed by Anubhav Sinha. The film marks the second collaboration between the actor-director after their film Article 15. The film also marks the Hindi film debut of actress Andrea Kevichusa. Ahead of the film’s worldwide release, the makers will be hosting a star-studded premiere of the film.

The premiere of Anek will be a star-studded affair and celebrities like Rajkummar Rao, Taapsee Pannu, Huma Qureshi, Divya Dutta, Shabana Azmi, Remo D’Souza, Pankaj Tripathi, Maniesh Paul, Rhea Chakraborty, Kumud Mishra, Ashok Pandit, Isha Talwar, Anup Soni, and others will be attending the premiere. On the occasion of World Menstrual Hygiene Day which is on 28th May, the ethereally gorgeous Prithviraj actress Manushi Chhillar has been roped in by UNICEF to spread awareness on this burning issue in our country. Manushi will be leading UNICEF’s global initiative called the Red Dot Challenge – a symbol adopted by the world body to depict menstrual cycle – in India. She will be promoting the need to educate girls with all information on maintaining hygiene, constructing adequate sanitation facilities, and providing quick access to feminine hygiene products.

Manushi, who won the Miss World crown in 2017, seventeen years after Priyanka Chopra won it for India, has been roped in by UNICEF because she runs her own initiative on menstrual hygiene called Project Shakti that works tirelessly across several states of India.

Manushi, says, “Girls and women menstruate. They always have and always will. Yet taboos, myths, and misinformation continue to surround something that is so natural. These taboos may have far-reaching consequences, especially on young girls. They can prevent them from going to school, and participating in everyday activities and social and religious gatherings. In this day and age, ‘coming of age’ should not have any restrictions or obstacles.”

Manushi is set to debut in Bollywood with the highly anticipated big-ticket historical entertainer called Prithviraj opposite superstar Akshay Kumar, who plays Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan. She will be playing the royal Princess Sanyogita, whose tales of beauty mesmerised an entire nation.

Gaten Matarazzo, who appears as Dustin Henderson in the Netflix thriller series Stranger Things, recently announced that he will be making his return to Broadway this summer in the Tony Award-winning production of Dear Evan Hansen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 19-year-old actor will mark his return to the Great White Way as Jared Kleinman, the sarcastic (and slightly inappropriate) friend of titular character Evan Hansen, on July 19. The role follows Matarazzo’s 2011 Broadway debut in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, as well as roles in the 2013 Godspell cast and the 2014 revival of Les Misérables.

The Stranger Things star will reportedly be joined by the return of Ann Sanders as Cynthia Murphy, Noah Kieserman and Ciara Alyse Harris as Connor Murphy and Alana Beck, respectively, from the show’s North American tour. “Words could never express how truly honored I am to be a part of this company,” Matarazzo said in a statement. “This show has taught me so much about myself and to be able to participate in any capacity, let alone on Broadway, makes me want to melt. I am ecstatic to be back on stage and eternally grateful for the opportunity.”

The current company of Dear Evan Hansen includes Zachary Noah Piser, Talia Simone Robinson, Jessica Phillips, Christiane Noll, David Jeffery, Manoel Felciano, Jared Goldsmith, and Phoebe Koyabe, and Linedy Genao, Nathan Levy, Mateo Lizcano, Dan Macke, Jane Pfitsch, D’Kaylah Unique Whitley, Asa Somers, Josh Strobl, and Nicole Van Giesen. The titular character is portrayed by Zachary Noah Piser, the first Asian American actor to inhabit the role of Evan Hansen.

Meanwhile, Gaten Matarazzo is gearing up for season 4 of Stranger Things, which releases its first set of episodes this Friday.

Johnny Depp returned to the stand on Wednesday and testified in his defamation trial against Amber Heard that he helped his former wife Heard secure her breakthrough role as Mera in Aquaman, denying Heard’s claims who previously testified that Depp didn’t help her secure a spot in the DC movie.

As noted by The Hollywood Reporter, Depp spoke about the role to Warner Bros. Executives who were concerned about Heard’s legal troubles in Australia, where the movie was shot. Heard in 2016 was prosecuted in Australia for illegally bringing her dogs into the country. The charges were dropped in exchange for Heard pleading guilty to making a false customs declaration by indicating that she had no animals when she arrived.

Amber Heard had previously testified that Depp didn’t help her in any way to land the role, to which Depp responded, “It’s not exactly true.” After Heard auditioned for Warner Bros. in 2015, Depp said that Heard was anxious about Warner Bros.’ concerns of whether she would be able to shoot in Australia. She asked him to speak to the studio, he recounted. “She asked if I would — I had a multi-film deal with Warner Bros., so we’d been in business together, so I knew these people — speak to them,” Depp testified. “I made a phone call, and I spoke to three upper echelon Warner executives: Kevin Tsujihara, Sue Kroll, Greg Silverman.”

The actor added, “I can only say that, ultimately, she did get the job in the film. Hopefully, I had curbed their worries to some degree.” Previously, Heard claimed that her role in the film was ultimately “pared-down” due to the negative press attention. But on Tuesday, Walter Hamada, president of DC Films at Warner Bros, testified that Heard’s role was never reduced despite talks of being recast due to “chemistry” issues with leading man Jason Momoa. He said that “there were conversations about potentially recasting” Heard in the Aquaman sequel, but not because of her legal battle with Depp.

The trial will wrap up with closing statements on Friday.
