Salman Khan’s upcoming action comedy, directed by Farhad Samji, has been in the news for a long time now for several reasons. But it seems that the team has finally got an impressive ensemble cast on board. Bollywood Hungama recently reported that Aayush Sharma walked out of the film citing creative differences. And now, we got more updates on the cast of this Salman Khan film.

“Salman Khan is making a pan-India film and is leaving no stone unturned on the casting front. He sat down with his team and has hand-picked the actors of his choice. The first to be locked on the film was Pooja Hegde, followed by his close friend, Venkatesh. And now, Salman has got another actor from the Telugu industry on board and it’s none other than Jagapathi Babu,” a source close to the actor informed Bollywood Hungama.

For those unaware, Jagapathi Babu was to do Dabangg 3 for Salman Khan, but things didn’t materialize back in the day due to date issues. “And now, when Salman offered him this role, he instantly came on board. The team wanted an ideal villain in the film to fight Salman and Venkatesh, and there’s no one better than Jagapathi to do that,” the source further told us.

Jagapathi Babu will join Salman in the Hyderabad schedule of the film in June. With the addition of the ace actor, the extended cast of this Farhad Samji Film is – Salman Khan, Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh, Jagapathi Babu, Shehnaaz Gill, Jassie Gill, Raghav, Siddharth Nigam and Malvika Sharma. Some more actors from the comic space in Bollywood and Telugu film industries are also in conversation to do this action comedy for Salman Khan.

The makers are expected to announce the film and title soon, and according to our source, it is on track for December 30 release this year.

South Korean pop group Golden Child’s member TAG will not be joining any promotional activities for a while due to a liver condition and will temporarily take break from activities to focus on recovery.

According to Korean tabloid Soompi, on May 23, Golden Child’s agency Woollim Entertainment released a statement informing about TAG’s health condition and the group will temporarily be promoting with eight members.

Last week, Woollim Entertainment clarified after reports stated that TAG was in critical condition due to acute liver failure. While they confirmed that TAG had gone to the hospital, he was not in critical condition. “Hello. This is Woollim Entertainment,” the statement began. “First, we would like to say thank you to fans who always send endless love to Golden Child,” the statement continued. “We are making an announcement to fans pertaining to Golden Child’s member TAG’s health status and future promotions. After not feeling well recently, TAG followed an expert’s opinion and was admitted to the hospital on the morning of May 18 where he received a close examination. [TAG] was diagnosed with poor liver condition from the initial test results, but through ongoing examinations and treatment from medical staff, his current test results and health status have improved a lot.”

The statement further read, “However, following our judgement that medical advice and TAG’s stability are priorities, for the time being, we plan to solely focus on doing everything we can for [TAG’s] recovery, and Golden Child’s upcoming activities, in addition to their U.S. tour, will proceed with eight members. We want to apologize for worrying many fans with such sudden news. We will do our best for TAG’s quick recovery. Thank you.”

Golden Child is currently gearing up for their “Meet & Live” US Tour next month without members TAG and Daeyeol, as the latter began his mandatory military service earlier this year. The boy band will reportedly be appearing in ten cities across the US, beginning with San Jose, California.

South Korean actor Kim Woo Bin, currently seen in Our Blues, has reportedly halted all of his scheduled activities for the time being after testing positive for Covid-19.

According to Korean tabloid Soompi, a source from APR Agency shared on May 24, “We had to cancel Kim Woo Bin’s photo event, which was scheduled to be held today to commemorate the Jaeger-LeCoultre exhibition. Ahead of the event on May 23, Kim Woo Bin checked that he tested positive with a self-testing kit. Afterwards, he immediately visited a medical institution and carried out a rapid antigen test, and he ultimately tested positive,” they continued.

Kim Woo Bin, who was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer in 2017 and fought for about three years, made an onscreen comeback last month through anthology drama Our Blues. The ongoing drama, which also simultaneously airs on Netflix, tells the stories of a bunch of individuals living on Jeju Island. The drama features an ensemble cast of Shin Min Ah, Kim Woo Bin, Lee Byung Hun, Lee Jung Eun, Cha Seung Won and Han Ji Min.

Previously, Kim Woo Bin starred films like Friend: The Great Legacy (2013), The Con Artists (2014) and Twenty (2015) and hit dramas like The Heirs and Uncontrollably Fond among others. He is also set to appear in television drama Black Knight and the sci-fi action film Alienoid.

Hollywood singer Halsey has alleged that their new song has been put on hold by their record label as they first want to “fake a viral moment on TikTok”. The 27-year-old singer took to social media and openly talked about the situation.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, in a now-viral TikTok, they posted Sunday morning, the singer claims they have a song that they love and want to release “ASAP” but “my record company is saying that I can’t release it unless they can fake a viral moment on TikTok.” The post continues with the unreleased song playing in the background “Everything is marketing, and they are doing this to basically every artist these days.” Noting that they just want to “release music,” Halsey also pulls some receipts, adding that they’ve been “in this industry eight years,” “sold over 165 million records,” and “deserves better. I’m tired.”

“Our belief in Halsey as a singular and important artist is total and unwavering,” a spokesperson for Capitol Music Group said in a statement to the outlet. “We can’t wait for the world to hear their brilliant new music.” Halsey has been with Astralwerks, Capitol Records’ electronic music subsidiary since 2014, citing the creativity the label offered them. Halsey responded to the statement, which was attributed to her former label Astralwerks as well as Capitol on Twitter. “Astralwerks is the label that signed me, and then they upstreamed me to Capitol. This quote came from the company who believed in me from the jump. Not the company I’m wrestling with right now,” she claimed.

In November 2021, the singer also shared a “dehumanizing” experience with Hits Daily Double saying, “There were moments when I felt powerless. Updating my progression to accommodate execs and investors, making sure the arrival of my child was timely enough that it wouldn’t cost anyone money, was dehumanizing. Not to mention the ‘madonnafication’ of myself. I spent my whole career as a symbol of sexuality and tenacity; would I still be that once the world has decided I’m maternal and therefore ‘unf***able?’ A world to whom I no longer serve useful? Can I have both?”
However, there were some people who doubted Halsey and thought their TikTok video itself is a market gimmick. Insisting that their newest TikTok videos isn’t just a publicity stunt, Halsey took to Twitter to clear out the air and wrote, “I’m way too established to stir something like this up for no reason or resort to this as a marketing tactic but now I’m in too deep so there’s no going back ????????‍♀️.”

While Halsey’s new single’s release date is still unclear, their plight does seem to shine light on an issue that is plaguing other artists. Artists such as Charli XCX and Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine have also alluded to receiving pressure from their labels to post and go viral on the social media platform. “The label are begging me for ‘low fi tik toks’ so here you go. pls send help,” Florence wrote alongside a video uploaded earlier this year. Charli meanwhile poked fun at being asked for what she claimed was her eighth TikTok in a week.
