South Korean pop group NCT 127’s Taeil will reportedly not be performing in the group’s upcoming concert in Nagoya due to being diagnosed with Covid-19.

According to Korean tabloid Soompi, the group’s agency SM Entertainment announced on May 18 that Taeil had tested positive for Covid-19 while self-isolating in Japan due to local regulations. (Although they tested negative ahead of their departure from Korea, all of the NCT 127 members went into quarantine for several days after their arrival in Japan, as is required according to Japanese Covid-19 regulations.) The remaining 8 members of NCT 127 have all tested negative for Covid-19, and will perform during ‘Neo City: The Link’ on May 22 as scheduled.

“We are informing you of the news that member Taeil will not be participating in the Valentin Dome Nagoya concert of NCT 127’s second world tour “Neo City : Japan – The Link” that will be held on May 22,” the statement shared by SM Entertainment read. “In order to participate in his scheduled activities in Japan, Taeil underwent PCR testing [for COVID-19], and after testing negative, he departed Korea for Japan on May 15.”

“After arriving in Japan, he self-isolated for three days in accordance with the local COVID-19 regulations,” it continued. “On May 18, he underwent PCR testing again in order to shorten his quarantine period, and his test results came back positive. Taeil previously received three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, and he is currently not exhibiting any particular symptoms. In accordance with local regulations, he is currently undergoing treatment in self-isolation. All of the other NCT 127 members aside from Taeil have tested negative for COVID-19, and because they were not classified by Japanese health authorities as having come into close contact after May 16, their quarantine has been lifted.”

The statement further read, “Therefore, we ask for fans’ generous understanding regarding the fact that the May 22 Valentin Dome concert in Nagoya will be held with only eight members: Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark, and Haechan. Our agency considers our artist’s health and safety our top priority, and we will do our utmost so that he can focus entirely on his recovery. Additionally, we will diligently comply with the requests and guidelines of government health authorities. Thank you.”

Meanwhile, NCT 127’s ongoing Japan tour ‘Neo City: The Link’ is scheduled to take place in Tokyo from May 28-29, and in Osaka from June 25-26.

South Korean actress Kim Sae Ron, who was allegedly booked for drunk driving, issued an official apology through her agency GOLDMEDALIST Entertainment. The actress

“Hello. This is GOLDMEDALIST Entertainment. First, we apologize for the delay in the official statement as it took time to confirm the facts,” the statement began as translated by Korean tabloid Soompi. “We sincerely apologize for causing concern with the accident that occurred through our agency’s actress Kim Sae Ron’s drunk driving. Kim Sae Ron is deeply reflecting on her wrongdoing. Furthermore, Kim Sae Ron sincerely conveys her apology to the many people who were harmed and inconvenienced through this as well as all the people who are working hard to repair the damaged public structures. She has promised to do her best to restore the damage.”

The statement adds, “Kim Sae Ron was sent home after a blood test yesterday (May 18), and she will dutifully cooperate in the police investigation. The agency also feels deeply responsible that an incident such as this has occurred. We apologize once more to everyone who experienced discomfort from this situation. We will do our best going forward to actively resolve this while communicating.” The statement concluded stating, “In order for these situations to not occur, the agency will work harder to be more cautious in managing our artists. We once again apologize for causing concern.”

Following the apology statement, the production team of upcoming K-drama Trolley confirmed that Kim Sae is no longer a part of the SBS drama. “Kim Sae Ron’s agency expressed her intent to step down along with the apology, so we accepted [the request],” a source from Studio S shared. Previously on May 18, a source from the Seoul Gangnam Police Station confirmed to the otlet that Kim Sae Ron was booked under charges of drunk driving. If the report stands true, the actress crashed her car in the Cheongdam district in Gangnam. Following the incident, a source from her upcoming Netflix series Hunting Dogs (literal title) also commented that they will adjust the filming schedule and make an announcement after a thorough discussion.

ID and Discovery+ set a true-crime docuseries House of Hammer (working title) which will follow the alleged crimes of Armie Hammer and his family.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the program will explore the sordid past of five generations of Hammer’s family using “a trove of archive and interviews from survivors and family members” to expose “a dysfunctional dynasty with its male characters exhibiting all the devastating consequences of privilege gone wild,” according to a press release from the network. “Debauchery. Deceit. Abuse. Addiction. Corruption. Over the course of five generations, the men in the Hammer family have more secrets and scandals than any vault can contain,” the ID and Discovery+ release reveals. “Armie Hammer’s alleged crimes are only the tip of the iceberg.”

Armie Hammer has a long history of wealth in his family lineage. His family has only continued to court controversy since then, as his father Julian Hammer has been accused of murder and sexual abuse. The actor himself has recently been accused of emotional abuse, manipulation, and violence against women, causing him to drop out of several high-profile projects. Last year, the actor was accused of rape and “other acts of violence,” according to attorney Gloria Allred during a virtual news conference at the time.

The woman, identified only as Effie, said, “On April 24, 2017, Armie Hammer violently raped me for over four hours in Los Angeles, during which he repeatedly slapped my head against a wall, bruising my face. He also committed other acts of violence against me to which I did not consent.” She added that Hammer abused her “mentally, emotionally, and sexually” during their four-year relationship. Hammer denied those allegations through his attorney. Per the report, Hammer’s alleged misconduct first came to light when allegations surfaced on social media that he had sent disturbing messages to several women on Instagram who said they had been in sexual relationships with him.

Hammer denied the allegations at the time and called them “bulls—“, citing “vicious and spurious online attacks.” Following the controversy, Hammer was replaced in several projects, including the play The Minutes, comedy feature Shotgun Wedding, the Paramount+ series The Offer, and Billion Dollar Spy.

Oscar winners  Jamie Foxx, Robert De Niro, Scott Eastwood and John Leguizamo are confirmed to star in the upcoming action flick Tin Soldier which begins filming next week in Greece.

According to Deadline, Tin Soldier tells the story of The Bokushi (Foxx), who preaches to hundreds of veterans who have been drawn to the promise of protection and purpose under him. Surrounded by his devout military-trained followers, he has built an impenetrable fortress and amassed an arsenal of weapons. After several failed infiltration attempts, the government – in the form of military operative Emmanuel Ashburn (De Niro) – recruits Nash Cavanaugh (Eastwood), an ex-special forces asset, who was once a disciple of The Bokushi. Nash agrees to use his vulnerable past and insider knowledge of the enigmatic leader to finally get revenge on the man who took everything from him, including the love of his life.

Furman and Fuerst are set to produce for their Road Less Traveled Productions with Keith Kjarval for Unified Pictures, Steven Chasman for Current Entertainment, and Brad Feinstein for Romulus Entertainment. Walter Josten of Blue Rider will executive produce.

Brad Furman is directing the pic from a script he co-wrote with Jess Fuerst. Amber Heard took the stand in a Virginia courtroom to continue her testimony in the high-profile defamation suit filed by her former husband Johnny Depp. During her cross-examination by Depp’s legal team on Tuesday grilled Heard about a late-night visit from actor James Franco after she filed a restraining order against Depp in 2016.

When asked about James Franco’s visit, initially Amber Heard responded, “I do not know when James came over”.

Depp’s attorney, Camille Vasquez, then submitted video evidence of Heard and Franco entering the elevator of Depp’s penthouse. In the surveillance clip, Franco was seen resting his head on Heard’s shoulder that seemed to suggest a possible romantic relationship between the two. The video was marked with the timestamp of May 22, 2016, at about 11 pm and the duo was seen on their way up to the penthouse. Vasquez played surveillance elevator footage of Franco arriving at Heard’s penthouse: “You changed the lock to the penthouses on May 22, 2016,” Vasquez posited. “I attempted to,” Heard replied, referring to previous testimony about changing the locks after a fight with Depp.

Vasquez asked, “That’s why you felt comfortable having James Franco over the evening of May 22, 2016?” When Heard testified that she does not recall when specifically, her former co-star visited, Vasquez presented footage dated May 21, 2016, “past 11 p.m. at night” when she “knew Mr. Depp was out of town.” Heard said, “I don’t know what I knew of his schedule at the time.” After the evidence was presented to the jury, Heard confirmed that she invited Franco over to the residence. “He was my friend and he lived quite literally next door. I’d exhausted my support network and I was happy to welcome as much friendship as I could possibly get,” she said.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Heard previously testified that Depp suspected the two of having an affair. “He hated, hated James Franco,” Heard told the court last week. “He was accusing me of secretly having a thing with him in the past since we had done Pineapple Express together.”

James Franco and Elon Musk, who Heard briefly dated in 2017, are included on her witness list, but neither is expected to testify.

Further on, Heard’s sister took the stand and testified Wednesday that she found herself in the middle of fights between her sister and Depp during their troubled relationship. Whitney Heard Henriquez was the first witness to testify at the five-week civil trial to say she personally witnessed Depp hitting Heard while Depp has testified, he never struck Heard. Henriquez, who was called to the stand to corroborate Heard’s allegations that Depp repeatedly assaulted her over the course of their four-year relationship, told the jury that he repeatedly hit Heard in the face during an argument at the couple’s penthouse in March 2015.

As Variety cites, Henriquez described witnessing a fight in which Depp and Heard were screaming obscenities at each other. Depp ran upstairs toward a mezzanine and hit Henriquez in the back, she said, and then Heard smacked him, saying “Don’t hit my fucking sister.” Depp’s security guard then ran up the stairs.

“Johnny had already grabbed Amber by the hair with one hand and was whacking her repeatedly in the face with the other, as I was standing there,” Henriquez said. The security guard intervened and broke up the fight but “by that time Johnny had already grabbed Amber by the hair with one hand and was whacking her repeatedly in the face with the other,” Henriquez said. Outside, she said she could hear Depp screaming “I fucking hate you! I fucking hate you both! You fucking cunts! You fucking whores!”

As the outlet notes, Henriquez previously testified about the fight, the “staircase incident”, during the 2020 defamation trial in the U.K. involving the couple. In that case, the judge found that Depp did assault Heard on that occasion, as well as on numerous others. Depp also testified about the incident in the Virginia trial on April 20. In his account, he recalled taking a “roundhouse punch” from Heard following which, the Jurors were shown a picture of his bruised face. Depp did not mention striking Heard or her sister. Per the report, Travis McGivern, the security guard, gave testimony that generally lined up with Depp’s version of events.

Meanwhile, Heard recalled in her testimony that she had swung at Depp to protect her sister and that Depp had held her by the back of her head and hit her repeatedly in the face. The next morning, Henriquez testified that she and Heard discovered Heard’s closet had been trashed on the staircase and they found a non-disclosure agreement that had been left for her on the kitchen table. She said she never signed it. Henriquez said that she also witnessed a general decline in Heard’s health and wellbeing over the four years of her relationship with Depp. “When he was drinking he would get very angry,” she said about Depp. “He would say really nasty, unkind things, usually about Amber, sometimes about me.”
