South Korean actor Ahn Hyo Seo set up a new management company The Present Co. with his long-time manager. The new agency has been jointly established by Ahn Hyo Seop and his longtime manager who worked with the actor from before his debut. Together, ‘The present co.’ will be pursuing the ideals of, “Us, who are living the present, and the joy of making today.”

According to Korean tabloid Soompi, the present co.’s director Kim Min Ji shared, “With the meaning of, ‘Let’s live the present, which has been given to us like a gift,’ we hope to experience enjoyment and passion together with the public.”

Meanwhile on the work front, Ahn Hyo Seop is gearing up for his new Netflix series Into Your Time, a Korean remake of Taiwanese drama Some Day or One Day. He previously starred in K-dramas like 30 But 17, Abyss, Dr. Romantic 2, The Red Sky Lovers and most recently in the popular SBS drama A Business Proposal.

Advance bookings of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are in full swing breaking records in India and to the further add to the excitement of Marvel and James Cameron fans, for the first time ever 20th Century Studios will showcase the teaser trailer of Avatar: The Way of Water exclusively in cinemas with the Marvel Big-ticket Entertainer.

As the film gears up for its release this week, the early trend in the numbers showcases an encouraging sign for a big blockbuster start. Disney revealed the title of James Cameron’s long-awaited sequel, Avatar 2, along with a visual treat – the first 3D teaser trailer screened at CinemaCon last week, the annual gathering of movie theater owners that’s currently taking place at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

According to Deadline, set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water will follow the next chapter in the lives of Sam Worthington’s Jake and Zoe Saldana’s Neytiri and begins to tell the story of the Sully family, Jake, Neytiri and their kids, and the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive and the tragedies they endure. “I know one thing,” Sam Worthington’s Jake Sully tells Zoe Saldana’s Neytiri. “Wherever we go, this family is our fortress.”

According to an earlier report in The Hollywood Reporter, Avatar 2 will reportedly be offered in a wide variety of formats to support the range of movie theater configurations in the U.S. and around the world, including 3D and 4K, and incorporating a high frame rate of 48 fps. In fact, there will be more versions of Avatar 2 than any movie “in the history of movies,” asserted John Fithian, president, and CEO of the National Association of Theater Owners, at CinemaCon on Tuesday. “We are talking about high resolution, high frame rates, 3D, IMAX, PLF, different sound systems, and in 160 different languages. He is working very closely with our members around the world to show his movie in the best possible way,” he says. “Jim is uniquely driven. He’s brilliant.”

A scene out of Marvel’s highly-anticipated sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has sparked a backlash in China and potentially dashed hopes that it could become one of the rare Marvel films to be released in the country.

According to Deadline, Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen starrer multiverse madness has made waves on local social media upsetting few in China over a scene in the opening bit of the sequel where a newspaper kiosk bears the Chinese characters for The Epoch Times, an international multi-language newspaper and media company which opposes the Chinese Communist Party.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has also been banned in Middle Eastern countries for depiction of the gay character American Chavez. China has also not approved releases for Marvel’s latest films that include Eternals, Shang-Chi, Black Widow, and Sony’s Spider-Man: No Way Home partly due to Black Widow’s depiction of communism and critical comments about Beijing made by Eternals director Chloé Zhao. No Marvel films have been released in China since 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.

Directed by Sam Raimi, the film brings back Benedict Cumberbatch’s character for the first Marvel film since Spider-Man: No Way Home. It will also mark the return of Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) for the first time since the Disney Plus series WandaVision. The sequel also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams with Kevin Feige as the producer.

The official description for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse reads, “Now that Iron Man and Captain America have left after a fierce battle in Avengers: Endgame, former genius surgeon and the strongest magician of them all, Doctor Strange, is expected to play an active role as a central figure in the Avengers. However, using his magic to manipulate time and space at will with a forbidden spell that is considered the most dangerous has opened the door to a mysterious madness called ‘the Multiverse.'”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will release in theatres in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam on May 6, 2022.

Warner Bros-Discovery reportedly cancelled DC’s planned live-action Wonder Twins film which was set to start production over the summer with Riverdale star K.J. Apa and 1883 star Isabel May set in the lead roles announced just recently.

According to a report by The Hashtag Show, the crew received word this week that the film was scrapped and the cancellation news came as the filmmakers were still in the process of fleshing out the rest of the cast.. There’s no word on why the film has been cancelled, but the Warner Bros-Discovery merger has dampened and changed a lot of the plans that were in place before the merger.

Announced in February 2022, production on the film was set to begin in Atlanta this summer with Apa playing Zan and May playing Jayna. Adam Sztykiel was lined up to write and direct the project and the film was to be produced by Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey of Temple Hill productions.

The Wonder Twins were originally introduced in the animated series The All-New Super Friends Hour, though they would later make their way to the printed page with stories by DC Comics. Previously, Deadline reported the history of characters as: “Zan and Jayna are from the planet Exxor and are being informally trained by the DC superheroes. In a 1977 Super Friends comic book from E. Nelson Bridwell and artist Ramona Fradon, it’s further detailed that the twins were orphaned during a plague and adopted by the alien Exorians.”

The twins were often joined by their pet alien monkey, Gleek, who assisted in their crimefighting. “The twins each had the ability to transform — Zan into any state of water and Jayna into any animal — by touching hands and saying, “Wonder Twin powers, activate!” After learning that villain Grax is set to destroy Earth, they travel there to warn the Justice League. They ultimately blend into life on Earth as Swedish exchange students, attending Gotham City High School.”

After reports that Netflix suffered a large stock drop, it has been announced that the streaming giant has cancelled development of Pearl, an animated series created by Meghan Markle through Archewell Productions, in its move to cut costs. The feature was going to be the first animated series produced by Markle and Prince Harry’s banner.

According to Deadline, Netflix has quietly dropped Pearl, the working title of an animated series that was created by Meghan Markle through Archewell Productions, the shingle the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry set up at Netflix in fall of 2020 to create scripted series, docu-series, documentaries, features and children’s programming. Pearl, which Markle exec produced with David Furnish, was announced with fanfare last summer, described as a family series that centers on the adventures of a 12-year-old girl who finds inspiration in a variety of influential women throughout history.

“Like many girls her age, our heroine Pearl is on a journey of self-discovery as she tries to overcome life’s daily challenges,” Markle said at that time. “I’m thrilled that Archewell Productions, partnered with the powerhouse platform of Netflix and these incredible producers, will together bring you this new animated series, which celebrates extraordinary women throughout history. David Furnish and I have been eager to bring this special series to light, and I am delighted we are able to announce it today.”

Per the report, Netflix scratched two other kids animated series last week that were in production, Dino Daycare from Ada Twist, Scientist executive producer Chris Nee, and the South Asian-inspired adventure Boons and Curses. Netflix did, however, confirm that it will continue to work on a number of projects with Archewell Productions, including a documentary series called Heart of Invictus. The series will focus on athletes competing in the Invictus Games for injured veterans, an event founded by Prince Harry, in The Hague in 2022.

Last month, Netflix revealed its total number of users had dropped by 200,000 from January to March, and warned about two million more were likely to cancel subscriptions by July. Some analysts warned that, after a period of very strong expansion during the pandemic, the company had run out of easy ways to grow the business. Netflix is now reworking its model with motto of becoming quality over quantity streamer.
