South Korean actors Kim Jung Hyun and Im Soo Hyang are reportedly confirmed to star in the lead roles for new romance drama Kkokdu’s Gye Jeol (literal title, also meaning The Season of Kkokdu).

According to Korean media Soompi, the upcoming drama Kkokdu’s Gye Jeol is a fantasy romance which tells the story of a grim reaper named Kkokdu who comes down to this world to punish humans every 99 years. Kkokdu meets Han Gye Jeol, a doctor with mysterious abilities, and starts working as a visiting doctor. The drama comes from writers Kang Yi Heon and Heo Jun Woo with director Baek Soo Chan and director Kim Ji Hoon.

Kim Jung Hyun will take on the role of Kkokdu, the eccentric guide of the underworld who has been cursed to lead the deceased in the afterlife and get rid of the human trash in this world by entering the body of Do Jin Woo, a human who looks just like him.

Meanwhile, Im Soo Hyang will portray Dr. Han Gye Jeol who has no one except for her younger brother. As the report describes, she begins to feel less and less confident due to the cold society that only recognizes doctors from prestigious universities. However, she faces a turning point in her life after Do Jin Woo appears in front of her and takes her side for the first time.

The production team said in a statement, “The passionate acting of Kim Jung Hyun and Im Soo Hyang is making the filming site more lively. Including the two actors, everyone involved in filming is working hard to create a great drama, so we ask for your interest and anticipation for ‘Kkokdu’s Gye Jeol.’”

Kkokdu’s Gye Jeol is currently in production.

Not too long ago, the Economics Offences Wing (EOW) summoned Jacqueline Fernandez and questioned her for eight hours in relation to the Sukesh Chandrashekhar case. The actress was earlier named as an accused by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a chargesheet filed by them. However, Jacqueline, who appeared before special NIA Judge Shailendra Malick earlier today, was granted interim bail in the case. When the actress interacted with the media and when she was questioned regarding her involvement in the extortion case, the actress insisted that she was a victim of Sukesh Chandrashekhar and not the accomplice.

For the uninitiated, in a chargesheet filed by ED, they had alleged that Jacqueline Fernandez was aware of the criminal activities that Sukesh Chandrashekhar was involved in and despite that, she continued to deal in financial transactions with the conman. In the court proceedings that were held today, it was revealed that the actress’ legal team had sought a pre-arrest bail in the case. Additional Sessions Judge Shailendra Malick has also sought a response from the ED regarding this as well as another response about the actress opposing the summons by the agency. As of today, Jacqueline was granted an interim bail on a bail bond of Rs. 50,000.

Sukesh Chandrashekhar was arrested a few years ago in a money laundering case related to the 2017 Election Commision bribery case. And yet again, earlier this year, he was arrested in a case of conning some high-profile businessmen. Whereas Jacqueline Fernandez was accused of receiving financial gains worth Rs. 7 crores from Sukesh in the form of gifts. Reports also claimed that the conman had spent massive lump sums on the actress’ family. However, the actress has asserted more than once that she was unaware of his involvement in criminal activities and has also alleged that she knew him through her friend Pinky Irani, who is named as an accomplice in the case.

Besides Jacqueline, actress-reality show judge Nora Fatehi too was questioned by the EOW in relation to the case.

South Korean singer-songwriter BIBI will reportedly star alongside Song Joong Ki and Hong Sa Bin in the upcoming noir film Hwaran (romanized title). It is a noir film about precarious characters who make dangerous choices to escape hellish reality. It will be produced by Sanai Pictures and HISTORY D&C.

According to The Korea Herald report, Song Joong Ki will star in the role of Chi Gun, the leader of an underground crime organisation who crosses paths with the film’s protagonist, Yun Kyu (Hong Sa Bin), and his sister, played by BIBI.

On September 23, the film’s distributor Megabox Plus M confirmed that BIBI has was onboard to star in the film new film with Song Joon Ki. Currently, she is also in talks to star in a new drama of Disney+ called The Worst Evil (literal translation) and will release her first studio album Noir: The Lowlife Princess in October.

BIBI was previously also confirmed to join the cast of Netflix thriller series Sweet Home for its season 2. However, earlier this week, it was reported that she had stepped down from the role due to scheduling conflicts.

On Monday, Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez appeared before Delhi Patiala House court in connection with a Rs. 200 crore extortion case linked to alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. The actress was granted interim bail today on a bond of Rs. 50,000 in the court. She had appeared at the court as an accused. The next date of hearing is October 22, 2022.

The Kick actor has been cooperating with the authorities ever since her name cropped up in the Sukesh Chandrashekhar case. Her lawyer Patil said, “We had filed a regular bail application. Now, the ED has to file a reply”, to ET Times.

For the unversed, the Housefull actress has been accused of being in a relationship with alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who is involved in the Rs. 200 crore extortion case. However, the actress has asserted that she wasn’t aware of his crimes when she was in touch with him. The actress has been accused of receiving gifts worth Rs. 7 crores.

Later, during the investigation, the Drive actress’s stylist Leepakshi Ellawadi was also questioned at Delhi EOW, where she admitted that she was given Rs. 3 crores by Sukesh Chandrashekhar to purchase actress’ gifts. As per a PTI report, Ellawadi confirmed Jacqueline and Sukesh’s relationship and revealed that Sukesh contacted her in an attempt to understand the likes and dislikes of Jacqueline. Her statement also mentioned that the conman was trying to woo the actress.
