South Korean powerhouse Stray Kids has set a new personal record by selling a whopping 2.2 million pre-order copies for their comeback album MAXIDENT.

According to Korean media portal Soompi, Stray Kids’ upcoming comeback album MAXIDENT reached 2.24 million stock pre-orders as of the afternoon of September 28, 10 days before the album’s release on October 7.

Previously, Stray Kids’ 6th mini album ODDINARY recorded a total of 1.3 million pre-orders and went on to sell over 1.7 million copies, earning Stray Kids their first #1 on Billboard 200.

As the report states, the number of stock pre-orders is the amount of album stock that is produced prior to an album’s release. The figure is the estimated demand calculated using various factors, including how many albums were pre-ordered by fans.

Stray Kids is a South Korean pop band formed by JYP Entertainment through the 2017 reality show of the same name. The group is composed of eight members: Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N.

Stray Kids’ full comeback is scheduled for October 7, 12 AM EST.

South Korean actress Kim Ji Won has signed an exclusive contract with a new agency High Zium Studio which is also home to famous stars like Song Joong Ki, Lee Jong Suk and more.

According to Korean tabloid Soompi, currently, High Zium Studio is home to famous actors including Song Joong Ki, Lee Jong Suk, Go Bo Gyeol, Geum Sae Rok, Ryu Hae Joon, Seo Eun Soo, Yang Kyung Won, Oh Eui Sik, Im Chul Soo, Jung Jae Kwang, and Han Ji Won.

The production company also produced the dramas It’s Beautiful Now, Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area, Artificial City, Start-Up, and more. “We are happy to be able to create great synergy with actress Kim Ji Won who is receiving love and trust from the general public,” a representative of High Zium Studio shared in a statement on September 29.

“Since she is an actress who has showcased her diverse charms and acting skills with great depth through various projects, we will reliably be by her side so that she can continue to show a good side of herself going forward.”

Kim Ji Won previously starred in dramas like Heirs, Descendants of the Sun, Fight For My Way, Arthdal Chronicles, Lovestruck in the City, My Liberation Notes, and more.

Bollywood star Parineeti Chopra has wowed everyone with her action avatar in Code Name: Tiranga and she reveals that she had to learn the Israeli martial art form, Krav Maga, for three months to perfect her role as an elite agent in the film. Developed for the Israel Defense Forces, Krav Maga is derived from a combination of techniques used in aikido, judo, karate, boxing and wrestling!

Parineeti says, “One of the key action techniques of an agent is hand-to-hand combat, so I learnt Krav Maga a form of martial arts for a total of 3 months to get my action sequences right. It is a very physically and mentally demanding form of martial arts as it’s not only just movements but it also needs a lot of mental awareness of the surroundings one is in which is what exactly an agent needs to do on a mission.”

She adds, “Most of my fight sequences were against men who were a lot taller than me like the stunt men and co-actor Sharad Kelkar and sometimes the fight sequences would require them to fight with their full body weight.”

Parineeti further says, “At the end of most days I had injured and bruises all over my body, and the next day the most amount of makeup would be needed not on my face but rather to cover up my injuries. I’m extremely happy with the way people are liking my action shots in the trailer and it is a big thing for someone like me who has never done action as a genre before.”

Code Name: Tiranga also stars Harrdy Sandhu opposite Parineeti and is set to release in theatres worldwide on October 14, 2022.

Marvel’s highly anticipated film Blade lost director Bassam Tariq two months ahead of production. The director announced on social media that he is stepping down as director of the upcoming Marvel film starring Mahershala Ali.

“Dear Friends, it’s been a minute. Blade’s been a beautiful ride,” Tariq wrote in an Instagram post shared Tuesday. “At this moment, I’m filled with love and gratitude towards the folks at Marvel as well as the incredible crew and cast we assembled. I’m eager to support and see how the next director builds on the foundation we’ve set. I’ll now be joining the project as an EP as I move on to what’s next.”

While Tariq did not give a specific reason for his decision to depart the film, Marvel told Entertainment Weekly in a statement that the decision was made “due to continued shifts in our production schedule.” They added, “We appreciate Bassam’s talent and all the work he’s done getting Blade to where it is.”

Blade stars Mahershala Ali in the titular role alongside Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre. The film is slated for a release on November 3, 2023.

South Korean actress Park Min Young, one of the most popular actresses in the drama industry, has officially spoken about her relationship status and clarified the rumours circulating on social media. As per reports, the actress was allegedly dating a wealthy businessman Kang. His company Vidente is the largest shareholder in the South Korean company Bithumb Holdings and is also connected to Chorokbaem Media, which acquired Park Min Young’s agency Hook Entertainment.

In an exclusive report on the South Korean website Dispatch, as translated by Soompi, several allegations surfaced following leaked photos of Park Min Young visiting Kang. Though his business card allegedly states that he is the chairman of Vidente, INBIOGEN, Bucket STUDIO, and Bithumb LIVE, his name is “not publicly listed in relation to these companies.”

When Dispatch contacted the companies including Vidente and INBIOGEN, the website was told, “Who is that?” and only mentioned that Kang’s sister’s name is publicly known as the CEO of these companies. Apart from these companies, everything from home, cars, and golf course are allegedly not registered under his name.

The Soompi report states, “From 2013 to 2014, Kang swindled about 3.5 billion won (approximately $2.4 million) and was indicted for fraud and document forging. In 2016, he received a 2-year and 6-month prison sentence with a probation period of three years. From 2014 to 2015, Kang helped financial corporation “A” with the acquisition and received private placement bonds worth 33.2 billion won (approximately $23 million) and then eventually loaned 9 billion won more, receiving a total of 42.2 billion won in private placement bonds (approximately $29.2 million). He still has about 12 billion won (approximately $8.3 million) of the unpaid debt to “A.””

It turns out that Kang had disappeared from 2016 to 2020. These informants shared, “He went in and out of Thailand often since 2016. He said he’s working on a resort business, but nothing has been confirmed.” Another informer said, “Kang is acquainted with gangsters in Seongnam. He did something in Pattaya, but it is difficult for me to say more.”

With Park Min Young’s name in the spotlight and her alleged relationship, it was now clarified that the actress reportedly broke up with him. It was also said the actress’s sister has put in her resignation at one of the companies her sister works at, which is owned by Kang, The official statement came from her agency Hook Entertainment’s CEO Kwon Jin Young read, “Regarding actress Park Min Young’s dating news, we apologize for the delayed statement as it took some time for the agency to confirm the facts. First of all, Park Min Young has broken up with the individual mentioned in the dating rumors. Also, it is not true at all that actress Park Min Young received significant monetary benefits from the individual. Her older sister Ms. Park has also submitted her intent to resign from her position as an outside director of INBIOGEN.”

It further read, “For actress Park Min Young, it is currently her top priority to successfully complete filming for her ongoing drama Love In Contract so she will do her best to not cause harm to the broadcast.”

“Also, the actress will be more cautious about her actions as well as those of her family and everyone else connected to her to diligently show responsibility as an actress and public figure. We once again ask for your generous understanding in order for actress Park Min Young to fully focus on the remainder of filming for her drama,” the statement concluded.

Park Min Young is currently headlining the series Love In Contract starring Go Kyung Pyo and Kim Jae Young. The K-drama premiered on September 21, 2022.
