Delhi Crime season 2 showrunner & director Tanuj Chopra has officially signed with international agency WME. The news comes in after the premiere of season 2 on Netflix which stars Shefali Shah in the lead role. Tanuj Chopra officially took the showrunning duties from creator Richie Mehta for season 2. The news was confirmed by Deadline.

In the case of Delhi Crime 2, the series has received positive acclaim for the new season too. Showrunner and director Tanuj Chopra earlier said, “The one thing I’ve learned about Delhi crime is the amount of research that goes into crafting the show. Not all of it shows up on the screen in hard and fast details but it’s the foundation on which we build our narrative. I think in S1, people came for the crime and fell in love with the characters. This season we want to take these amazing beloved characters and dive deeper into their personalities and the ways they’ve grown since last season. That’s what’s beautiful about the show; the characters and those magic moments between them. I’m proud to pour so much effort and my heart into a show like Delhi Crime.”

This time around, in season 2, the Delhi Police was seen investigating a multiple murder case involving senior citizens, led by their very own ‘Madam Sir’. While all the evidence points squarely towards the return of the gruesome Kacha-Baniyan gang escalating public fear, Madam Sir and her team delve deeper to solve the case and uncover the truth. Delhi Crime Season 2 was released on August 26 on Netflix.

Hollywood actress Jennifer Lawrence starrer psychological drama film Causeway is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on November 4, 2022. Causeway is a new drama starring Jennifer Lawrence as a soldier adjusting to life after returning home to New Orleans.

According to Variety, this release date follows a world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival for the upcoming A24 feature film directed by acclaimed theater and TV director Lila Neugebauera, who previously helmed Broadway’s The Waverly Gallery.

The streaming service also announced that Louis Armstrong’s Black & Blues, a documentary about one of the founding fathers of jazz, will hit Apple TV+ on October 28. Both films are world premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival, where the company is screening five features, the largest number of Apple Originals to debut at a single film festival, per the report.

Causeway is directed by Lila Neugebauer, marking her feature film debut, and also stars Brian Tyree Henry alongside Lawrence. The film was first announced in April 2019 and production began in June. Ottessa Moshfegh, Luke Goebel and Elizabeth Sanders wrote the screenplay. In addition to starring in the film, Lawrence also serves as a producer on the film along with Justine Ciarrocchi for Excellent Cadaver. Neugebauer also executive produces it.

The second season of popular Netflix series Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives has started streaming on the OTT platform from September 2 onwards. As Karan Johar said in the show’s launch brunch that the new season is far superior to the previous one, the audience and fans will surely get a dose of entertainment. And, a scene from one of the episodes of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives 2 is proof of that!

Interestingly, in one of the episodes, Indian Matchmaking’s Sima Taparia makes a cameo appearance. The Mumbai-based matchmaker is seen helping Seema Sajdeh in finding a match. When she questioned Seema about her broken marriage with Sohail Khan, the latter said that their “views did not match”. In response, Sima questioned how it took 22 years to realize it. Though Seema appeared angered by this, she made a joke and asserted “Maybe I prefer women”. Sima seemed clearly upset by her remark.

Later, in the episode, Sajdeh said, “She (Sima Taparia) was horrified. I think she was sweating a little bit when I asked her that.”

The separation of the former star couple came to light after the release of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives season 1. In the first episode itself, when Sohail arrived at Seema’s house. On his arrival, Seema said, “So, Sohail came over” while speaking to the camera. This turned out to be the initial hint. Next, Seema urged Nirvaan (Sohail and Seema’s son) to spend more time with her when he returned from the University.

At that point, Nirvaan replied, “You are talking as if I live across the ocean. I live across the street.” Following which Seema Khan talking to the camera said, “I don’t see enough of him. He stays with his dad, and he comes here and sleeps. It’s one of the most annoying things about Nirvaan.”

To celebrate National Cinema Day, on 16th September, Jahaan Chaar Yaar tickets will cost just Rs. 75 across the country as the Multiplex Association of India (MAI) offers a special price to celebrate National Cinema Day. The MAI also said Rs. 75 tickets were a ‘thank you’ gesture for moviegoers who contributed to the successful re-opening of cinemas post the pandemic-induced lockdowns.

Producer Vinod Bachchan was delighted on MAI announcing National Cinema Day. “I think this is wonderful news for cinema lovers all across the Country. MAIs decision to celebrate national cinema day by offering tickets at ₹75 to consumers, might bring audiences together to enjoy a day in the theatres. I am delighted that our film Jahaan Chaar Yaar releasing on 16th Sept can be enjoyed by the audience on the National Cinema Day,” says producer Vinod Bachchan.

Jahaan Chaar Yaar starring Swara Bhasker, Shikha Talsania, Meher Vij and Pooja Chopra is a story of Four Female friends reunited for an unexpected adventure in Goa, explore their individual identities through dangerous yet quirky set of events which help them to return to their respective roles of housewives with revived spirits. Directed by Kamal Pandey and produced by Vinod Bachchan will hit theatres on 16th September.

Bollywood Hungama broke the news on August 30 that the advance booking of the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra has been thrown open in USA. And yesterday, on September 2, the ticket sales commenced in India. The same day, the team of Brahmastra promoted their film at a grand event in Hyderabad in the presence of S S Rajamouli and Jr NTR.

At this event, K Madhavan, Country Manager & President Disney Star, revealed, “Brahmastra is not an Indian film. It will be travelling across the world. We are going to release it in almost 8000 screens – 5000 in India and 3000 worldwide. I think it is happening for the first time.”

Industry and trade sources also confirm this development. A trade expert told Bollywood Hungama, “Brahmastra will have the widest release ever for a Hindi film. It comes at a time when theatres are starved for content. There’s also tremendous excitement. Hence, the theatres will be flooded with Brahmastra‘s prints. Meanwhile, in overseas, Disney has all gone all out and have been released in some non-traditional markets too.”

Meanwhile, at the event, Namit Malhotra of Prime Focus, said, “We have won 6 Oscars in the last 8 years and I can proudly say that today, Brahmastra stands strong with any Hollywood film that we have worked on.”

Apoorva Mehta of Dharma Productions added, “Ayan Mukerji spoke about this film on my 40th birthday. I recently celebrated my 50th birthday! Hence, yes, it has been a long but incredible journey.”
