Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, the iconic romantic-action film that captivated audiences when it was released in 2001, is all set to make a comeback in theatres. The makers have announced the re-release of the film ahead of the highly anticipated sequel, Gadar 2, slated for release later this year. Fans of the film can rejoice as they will have the opportunity to relive the magic on the big screen once again, starting June 9.

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, the lead actors of Gadar, took to Instagram on Thursday to share this exciting news with their fans and followers. They revealed that the re-released version of the film has been remastered in 4K, promising an enhanced visual experience. Additionally, the film will be presented in Dolby Atmos sound, further amplifying the immersive cinematic experience.

To build anticipation, the makers also unveiled the trailer of the remastered version on Friday. Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar is a poignant love story set against the backdrop of the Partition of India. Sunny Deol portrays the character of Tara Singh, a Sikh truck driver from Amritsar, who falls in love with Ameesha Patel’s character, Sakina, a Muslim girl, whose family had to migrate to Lahore, Pakistan during the Partition. The film also features the late Amrish Puri in a pivotal role.

The decision to re-release Gadar comes at an opportune time, as the team is gearing up for the much-awaited sequel, Gadar 2. However, the sequel will face stiff competition at the box office, as it is scheduled to clash with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal on August 11, 2023.

The emergence of OTT has brought fame to a lot of names. Sumeet Vyas is one actor who has benefitted a lot from the web medium. One show that has helped him gain popularity is TVF Tripling. The show has had three successful seasons and the fans are awaiting the fourth one.

Vyas himself has shared the status of TVF Tripling season 4 in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama. He said, “We will start the writing for season 4 in June. Hopefully the script should be locked by the end of the year and then we should start.” When asked if it will go on floors early next year, he said, “Yes, most likely.”

Sumeet recently made his directorial debut with the online series Tankesh Diaries, also for TVF. Speaking about the experience he said, “Thankfully, this was very familiar. We had taken characters from Permanent Roommates (his other popular show) and we were making this campaign for Ikea.”

Initially, he was only going to act in the show. “Baaton baaton mein it was mentioned if I would like to direct it,” he said. “I jumped at the idea. I am glad it turned out well. I had a good time and a great team to work with. We had a fantastic editor. So, it was a very good experience.”

Speaking about his forthcoming projects, Vyas said, “We are doing a series called Blinded. Ken Ghosh is directing it and Goldie Behl and Applause Entertainment are producing it. It’s a corporate drama. The story is based on corporate life. It’s interesting; it’s well-written.”

Vyas was last seen in the movie Afwah where he played the role of a politician. The film also starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bhumi Pednekar in pivotal roles.

Salman Khan, who is the brand ambassador for IIFA 2023, may not be a part of hosting this year but the actor is all set to turn model. The actor will turn showstopper alongside the popular dancer-actress Nora Fatehi for the celebrated fashion designer Manish Malhotra at the forthcoming event IIFA Rocks. Readers would be aware that this year the awards ceremony is being in the prestigious Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, Dubai.

Earlier this week, we saw many celebrities take off to Dubai for the much-awaited IIFA evening. The two-day event will kick off with IIFA Rocks where celebrities will be donning their glamorous avatars for the green carpet and the evening is expected to be filled with performances, fashion shows, and other events. While IIFA Rocks will be held on May 26, the award ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 27. Coming to the fashion show, Manish Malhotra will be showcasing some of his most prestigious on the IIFA stage with Salman Khan and Nora Fatehi.

IIFA Rocks is expected to be hosted by Rajkummar Rao and Farah Khan. The evening is expected to have an award ceremony honouring the technicians as well as a musical evening with performances from popular artists like Badshah, Sunidhi Chauhan, Nucleya, Sukhbir, and Amit Trivedi.

Talking about their projects, Salman Khan was last seen in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and will next be seen in Tiger 3 that is slated to release in November this year. Whereas Nora Fatehi was last seen in the film An Action Hero in the song ‘Jehda Nasha’. The actress also appeared in the music video of B Praak song ‘Acha Sila Diya’ which featured her alongside Vicky Kaushal.

Satyaprem Ki Katha also marks a massive collaboration between NGE and Namah Pictures. Interestingly, Sajid Nadiadwala and Shareen Mantri Kedia with Kishor Arora and director Sameer Vidwans won a National Award for their respective feature films. ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ will be released in theatres on June 29, 2023.

Devika Rani, extremely beautiful and talented was titled the ‘First Lady of Indian cinema’ by her fans; Himanshu Rai, on the other hand, was one of the pioneers of Indian cinema, an actor par excellence, a star and an astute businessman. In 1934, the duo went on to set up Bombay Talkies, India’s first professional film studio that dominated cinema in India for a decade. 

Born with an innate passion for storytelling, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari embarked on her journey as a filmmaker, armed with a determination to create meaningful and authentic cinema. Her distinctive style is a seamless blend of nuanced storytelling, relatable characters, and a keen eye for detail, making her films a testament to her extraordinary craft. 

She now brings this expertise to the magnum opus, which is touted to be the most challenging project she has taken on this far. Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari has joined hands with a prominent Indian film studio for the project being planned on an elaborate scale. It is currently in the scripting stage. Filmmaker Sudipto Sen has been directing movies since over 20 years, including documentaries. But he has achieved fame in recent times with the release of his Bollywood movie The Kerala Story, which stars Adah Sharma in the lead.

Sen, unfortunately, has fallen ill recently after traveling a lot to promote the film. With the filmmaker being hospitalized, he won’t be able to take part in the city-to-city promotions of The Kerala Story.

Sharing more about his condition, a source said, “Sudipto Sen along with the team has been continuously traveling promoting The Kerala Story and due to excess travel, he has fallen sick. Which is why, the promotional plan and city visits are at hold. The Kerala Story is already a blockbuster success and will have a long run at the box office in the next month. The filmmaker has requested the audience to keep showering love on the film and has appealed to people to watch it with family. The filmmaker will soon be back to continue the promotion and will touch 10 cities.”
