In this new role, Akanksha will be spearheading the films division within YRF Talent, as well as lead strategic relationships between artists and studios, producers and platforms to package projects for its actors.

Prior to YRF Talent, Akanksha has over 13 years of experience in the movie industry. She has worked with Cine1 Studios on the smash-hit film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. She was also Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor’s agent from 2010-2019, scouting & servicing projects like Padmaavat, Kabir Singh, and Udta Punjab for him.

Bollywood and TV actor Nitesh Pandey, who played the role of Shah Rukh Khan’s character Om Kapoor’s assistant in Om Shanti Om, has passed away at the age of 51 following a cardiac arrest. The actor, who starred as Dheeraj Kumar in the TV show Anupamaa, reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest in Igatpuri on May 24 at 2 am. He was reportedly there for a shoot.

As per a report in Times of India, Pandey was shooting in Igatpuri when his health deteriorated. He reportedly died almost immediately after the heart attack.

Producer Siddharth Nagar, who happens to be the brother-in-law of Pandey, confirmed the news to the publication and said, “Yes, you have heard it right. My brother-in-law is no more, my sister Arpita Pandey is in a state of shock. Nitesh’s father has left for Igatpuri to get his mortal remains. They should be here by the afternoon. We have gone absolutely numb, I have not been able to even talk to Arpita after the tragedy. I am headed to Igatpuri as well, I am in the train right now. I was coming back from Delhi when I heard about this. Nitesh was much younger than me. He was a very lively person and I don’t think he had a history of any heart ailment.”

Nitesh Pandey was a regular on Television and movies. He had starred in Dabangg, Khosla Ka Ghosla among others. He worked in TV serials like Manzilein Apani Apani, Astitva…Ek Prem Kahani, Saaya, Justajoo and Durgesh Nandini.

Bollywood Hungama was the first to inform that the first look poster of Karan Johar’s next will be launched on his birthday on May 25. Following months of anticipation around Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which marks Karan Johar’s return to director’s chair after seven years, the filmmaker is set to unveil the first look of the movie on May 25. Marking his 25th year in the film industry and starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, the film is an ode to love in all its grandeur and beauty.

Karna Johar on Wednesday took to social media to share a video when has moments of love from movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, My Name Is Khan, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Student Of The Year and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. He wrote, “Nothing but gratitude for the magical 25 years I have spent in the director’s chair. I learnt, I grew, I wept, I laughed – I lived. And tomorrow, another piece of my heart will be yours to see and I could not be more ecstatic as I celebrate my birthday with you all. With a kahaani that has prem written all over it. See you tomorrow. #RockyAurRaniKiPremKahaani first look out tomorrow! In cinemas 28th July.”

Dharma Productions shared, “It’s the dawning of a new era of love! After bringing to you stories of pyaar & dosti that still hold a special place in the hearts across the seven seas – it’s now time to hit play on a new season, with a ‘prem kahaani’ that’s been directed by the captain himself, #KaranJohar as he completes 25 years as a filmmaker.”

“A while back Dharma Productions had released the logo of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, now the film is ready and the makers will be officially releasing the first look poster later in May. Making the launch special, especially since it will mark Karan’s return to the directorial seat, plans are being set to reveal the poster on May 25, which will coincide with the filmmaker’s birthday”, reveals the well-placed source to Bollywood Hungama recently.

Detailing further, the source added, “The entire promotion campaign for Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will start after the poster launch on May 25. So expect a grand unveiling ceremony that will also mark Karan’s 51st birthday.”

The movie stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. It will release on July 28 in theatres.

Television actor Vaibhavi Upadhyay, who played Roshesh Sarabhai’s love interest in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai season 2, has died in a tragic car accident. She met with an accident in Himachal Pradesh while she was with her fiance.

The news of her death was shared by Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai creator and producer, JD Majethia. He took to Twitter to inform, “Life is so unpredictable. A very fine actress, dear friend Vaibhavi Upadhyay popularly known as Jasmine of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai passed away. She met with an accident in north. Family will bring her to Mumbai tomorrow morning around 11 am for last rites . RIP vaibhavi.”

According to a report in Times of India, Vaibhavi was travelling with her fiance in Himachal Pradesh when the accident occurred. Their car lost control at the steep turn. Her brother rushed to Himachal Pradesh after hearing about the accident.

Actor-director Deven Bhojani shared her photo on social media and wrote, “Shocking! A very fine actress and a dear friend Vaibhavi Upadhyay, popularly known as “ Jasmine “ of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai passed away. She met with an accident in north a few hours back. Responding to Bhojani’s tweet, Rupali Ganguly wrote, “This is not fair ….. gone too soon ……” Taking to her Instagram, she said, “Can’t believe this.”

On the work front, Vaibhavi Upadhyaya was seen in Deepika Padukone starrer Chhapaak. She also worked on a TV show Kya Qasoor Hai Amla Ka among others.

Earlier today evening Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions shared a rather cryptic message on their official twitter handle, talking about an impending announcement. As per the post on Twitter, a mega announcement is about Karan returning to the director’s seat in a new avatar, essentially beginning a new era. Well, Bollywood Hungama is the first to inform you that the film in question is a two-hero action venture that will see Karan at the helm. If what we hear is true, the yet untitled venture will feature Tiger Shroff and Varun Dhawan in lead roles.

Sharing details, a well-placed source exclusively tells Bollywood Hungama, “On May 25, Karan will be turning a year old, and with that he intends on embarking on a new journey of filmmaking. So far Karan’s forte in filmmaking has been family dramas and romantic stories. However, he is eager to try his hand with the action genre.” Ask for why the sudden shift and the source continues, “For 25 years now Karan has been doing a certain kind of cinema, and he is looking to experiment and change. Change is always good, and given his experience in filmmaking, it will most certainly be a cake walk for him. But yes, action is the new genre that Karan is looking at right now.”

Further talking about the casting, the source continues, “Tiger Shroff has already established himself as an action star with films like Heropanti, Baaghi, and War. He has excelled in entertaining the audience with his high-octane stunts and perfect execution. So, it comes as no surprise that Karan has roped him to feature as one of the two leads in the new project. As for Varun Dhawan, he too has had his share of action film, though they were action dramas or comedies, he has proved that he has what it takes to become an action hero.”

Though currently only Tiger and Varun have been locked as the male leads of the film, Karan is busy working to lock the female leads as well. Interestingly, the source reveals, that Karan has been toying with the idea of tyring something new for a while now, “Karan has been looking for a shift in genres, and with action films doing well, and being well received by the audience he feels that this is the perfect genre for his to start.”

While the official announcement of the project is likely tomorrow, we are already eager to hear more details of the project.
