Over a week ago, Kartik Aaryan wrapped Satyaprem Ki Katha which also stars Kiara Advani. The film wrapped with a massive song shoot which is an introductory song for Kartik’s character. Interestingly, the song depicts four weddings – Gujarati, South Indian, Muslim and Christian nuptials.

As per a report in Mid-day, a source revealed, “Sameer and producer Sajid Nadiadwala were in two minds about it as it’s an expensive affair, costing almost Rs. 7 crores. On Kartik’s insistence, they decided to go ahead with it. In the narrative, the lead character Satyaprem wants to get married, and is dreaming about his prospective wedding.”

Having said that, the lavish sets were erected in Mumbai for the shoot which concluded last week. As per the report, production designer Rajat Poddarr and cinematographer Manu Anand, along with the director Sameer Vidwans had built two sets at Madh Island for South Indian and Christian weddings whereas two sets up erected for the Muslim and Gujarati weddings at Vrundavan Studio in Malad. The source added, “The Christian ceremony’s backdrop is influenced by the vibe of Santorini, Greece. For the Gujarati shaadi, a mohalla was built, while huge replicas of famous temples from the south were created for the south Indian wedding. The Muslim nuptials take place in a banquet hall.”

Kartik Aaryan was reportedly involved in the discussion for the song since the first day and danced his heart out. The song has been choreographed by Bosco Martis.

Satyaprem Ki Katha also marks a massive collaboration between NGE and Namah Pictures. Interestingly, Sajid Nadiadwala and Shareen Mantri Kedia with Kishor Arora & director Sameer Vidwans won a National Award for their respective feature films. It marks the second outing for Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

Satyaprem Ki Katha will be releasing in theatres on June 29, 2023.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has booked film producer Jasprit Singh Walia, popularly known as Bunty Walia, in connection with a case of alleged bank fraud. The case, which has allegedly caused a loss of over Rs. 119 crores to IDBI Bank, has raised serious concerns in the film industry.

As per a report by PTI, the complaint filed by IDBI Bank accuses GS Entertainment Private Limited (GSEPL), a film production company, of obtaining financial loans under fraudulent circumstances. The bank alleges that in June 2008, GSEPL was sanctioned a Foreign Currency Loan (FCL) of USD 2.35 million (equivalent to Rs. 10 crores at the time) and a term loan (RTL) of Rs. 4.95 crores under the Film Financing Scheme. These loans were granted for the production of the Hindi film Lamhaa, featuring Sanjay Dutt and Bipasha Basu, with Bunty Walia and others providing personal guarantees.

The bank’s complaint further reveals that the film was originally scheduled for release in 2009. However, it faced significant delays purportedly due to a dispute between the promoters and exhibitors from March 2009, as per the allegations made by the IDBI Bank.

The CBI’s booking of Bunty Walia in this case signifies a significant development in the investigation into the alleged bank fraud.

As the investigation progresses, industry insiders and the general public will keenly await further updates on the case, seeking justice and closure regarding the alleged fraudulent activities surrounding the production of Lamhaa and the subsequent financial loss incurred by the IDBI Bank.

In an exciting development, versatile Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana is likely to step into the shoes of former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly in an upcoming biographical drama by Luv Films, as per a report by PeepingMoon. The production house is reportedly in talks with Khurrana, known for his remarkable performances in socially relevant films, to play the iconic cricketer on the silver screen.

The yet-to-be-titled film aims to chronicle the remarkable journey of Sourav Ganguly, popularly known as Dada, who made significant contributions to Indian cricket both as a player and as a captain. Known for his aggressive style of play and remarkable leadership skills, Ganguly played a pivotal role in shaping the Indian cricket team during his tenure as captain from 2000 to 2005.

A source told PeepingMoon, “The makers have been discussing this film with Ayushmann for several months. The talks have now reached an advanced stage, and it’s only a matter of some formalities before he is officially signed on. They are confident that Ayushmann, who is also a left-handed batsman, is an ideal choice for Ganguly’s role. Dada, as he is fondly called, has also approved Ayushmann’s casting and will soon meet him personally. Ayushmann will undergo months of extensive cricket training before starting the shoot.”  

Adding to the excitement, the report also suggested that Aishwarya Rajinikanth, daughter of legendary actor Rajinikanth, is in talks to direct the much-anticipated biographical drama. While the official announcements are yet to be made, the possibility of Ayushmann Khurrana essaying the role of Sourav Ganguly has generated considerable buzz among fans and the film fraternity.

In February this year, Sonu Sood was surprised to read about 27-year-old Bihar engineer Birendra Kumar Mahato quitting his full-time job to open a school for orphaned children, and even named it after the actor. Moved by Mahato’s endeavour to provide free education and food to 110 children, the actor met Mahato and the children at the school which also functions as a shelter home.

The actor spent time with Mahato to understand the needs of the school, from ration to quality education, building awareness to bridging the education gap between rich and poor. By the end of the day, Sonu Sood has started work on a new building for the school so that it can house more underprivileged children, and ensure there is food for every child in the school.

“Increasing access to education is one of the best ways to combat poverty. We aim to educate children from the marginalised sections of society so that they have a better chance at job opportunities. Higher education is something we are working on. The other important aspect is nutrition and overall well-being as this school is also a night shelter,” said the actor.

Right now Sood has been providing education close to ten thousand students across the country.

A report by TellyChakkar quoted the 36-year-old actress, who is currently in her third trimester of pregnancy, saying, “I am enjoying this phase of pregnancy and welcoming our first child. The excitement is on another level. I started working at a very young age and continued for about 10 – 15 years at a stretch. As my pregnancy journey began, I told Shoaib that I don’t want to work and want to quit acting. I want to live a life as a housewife and mother.”

For the unversed, Dipika marked her entry into the television industry in 2010, portraying the character of Lakshmi in Neer Bhare Tere Naina Devi. Additionally, she graced the screen as Rekha in Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo. Dipika last graced the small screen as Sonakshi in Star Plus’ Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum. Her portrayal of the character was highly appreciated by the audience. The actress also proved her mettle by emerging as the winner of Bigg Boss Season 12, adding another feather to her cap.

Following the conclusion of Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum, Dipika was absent from television screens as she devoted her time to managing her YouTube channel.
