After weeks of unraveling the unexplainable and plunging into the depths of the paranormal in front of the camera, Karan Tacker has officially wrapped the shoot of his highly anticipated series Bhay—and he did it in none other than London’s eerie, rain-slicked alleyways. A supernatural thriller, Bhay is rooted in real events, following the life and findings of the late Gaurav Tiwari, India’s most renowned paranormal investigator. The series, starring Karan Tacker in the lead role, also features an ensemble including Kalki Koechlin, Danish Sood, and Saloni Batra.

Tacker, who’s previously won hearts (and goosebumps) with his powerful performances in Khakee: The Bihar Chapter and Special Ops, is once again stepping into the shoes of a real-life personality—only this time, the world he’s navigating isn’t defined by crime or espionage, but by energy shifts and the questions science can’t always answer.

Speaking about the experience, Karan says, “Absolutely delighted to wrap the schedule of another project. This one is extremely special, having worked on it for the last 1 1/2 years and just shooting the last day in a city that I absolutely love, which is London. I couldn’t have asked for more now, I just can’t wait for the audience to watch this and receive this with all the love as much as what we put in.”

With the London schedule now wrapped, the excitement around Bhay is only intensifying. The atmospheric visuals and Tacker’s nuanced performance as a man who hunted answers in the unseen all promise a show that will grip the audience.

After the historic success of Stree 2, Shraddha Kapoor is the most sought-after actress of Indian Cinema. She has been flooded with offers from all top banners from the Hindi Film Industry as well as the South Indian Industry, but she has made a brave choice by signing on for a standalone female lead film with producer Ekta Kapoor. A source has confirmed that Shraddha Kapoor’s next is a high-concept thriller to be produced by Ekta Kapoor, who has roped in Rahi Anil Barve as the director.

The film is set to go on floors in 2nd half of 2025, but the bigger scoop here is the remuneration of Shraddha Kapoor. A trade insider has confirmed that Shraddha Kapoor has received Rs. 17 crore remuneration for her next with Ekta Kapoor. “This is among the highest upfront fees received by Shraddha Kapoor, as also one of the highest pay cheques in today’s time for a female lead in Hindi. Ekta Kapoor was more than happy to splurge Rs. 17 crore to sign Shraddha, as the Rahi Anil Barve film will be Shraddha’s follow-up to the highest-grossing film of Hindi Cinema – Stree 2,” a trade source shared with Bollywood Hungama.

The source further tells us, “Apart from an upfront acting fee, Shraddha Kapoor has also got a profit-sharing clause added in her agreement. She will be getting a certain percentage of share in the profits post the film’s release, over and above the acting fees of Rs. 17 crores.” With this, Shraddha is being paid more than Alia Bhatt, Kiara Advani, just behind Deepika Padukone.

The Rahi Anil Barve film is presently in the pre-production stage and is set to go on floors by September 2025.

At the recently held FICCI Frames event in Delhi, veteran lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar addressed the chilling aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack in Kashmir. Speaking candidly during a panel, Akhtar did not hold back in his criticism of Pakistan’s actions and also called out growing hostility faced by Kashmiris within India in the name of nationalism.

“Every government in this country, whether it’s the Congress or the BJP, has tried to establish peace. Even Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji went to Pakistan. But what did they do? They washed the place he visited. Is that what they call friendship?” Akhtar said, reflecting on past diplomatic efforts that failed to yield lasting peace.

The attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of several Indian security personnel and civilians, has stirred outrage and grief across the country. Akhtar, while condemning terrorism, also warned against misdirected anger and prejudice being inflicted on Indian citizens from Kashmir. “How are we supposed to talk to Pakistan when they didn’t even accept the dead bodies of their own soldiers from the Kargil war?” he continued, underscoring what he sees as a history of disregard and denial from Pakistan’s end during conflict.

However, the celebrated poet also turned the spotlight inward, urging Indians not to alienate their own citizens in the wake of such attacks. “To those who harass Kashmiris in places like Mussoorie or any other part of India, you are only validating and confirming Pakistan’s propaganda,” he stated emphatically.

Akhtar’s comments serve as a timely reminder of the complexity of cross-border tensions and the dangers of letting fear and anger turn into communal hatred. While he acknowledged the harsh realities of Pakistan’s diplomatic posturing and military policies, he also emphasised the importance of maintaining humanity and unity within the country.

The remarks have since gone viral on social media, resonating with many who echo his call for introspection and responsible citizenship. As the country grapples with grief and fury over the terror attack, Akhtar’s words present a dual call — one for unwavering security measures and another for safeguarding the moral fabric of the nation.

JioHotstar has released the trailer for Hai Junoon – Dream. Dare. Dominate, a drama series that follows intense rivalries, big ambitions, and the battle for the GOAT’s trophy. Directed by Abhishek Sharma and produced by Jio Creative Labs, the show is created by Aditya Bhat and features a diverse ensemble cast including Jacqueline Fernandez, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Boman Irani, Sumedh Mudgalkar, Siddharth Nigam, Priyank Sharma, and several promising newcomers.

Set in the energetic environment of Anderson’s College in Mumbai, the series explores the competitive world of dance and music battles. Shah Rukh Khan said, “Its outstanding that the initiative for WAVES has come from the honourable Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) himself. Or else, film industry members keep crying, ‘Humko industry status kab doge’! It’s a time when filmmaking has become more and more difficult and it has become challenging to get the audience to cinemas due to so many other platforms. With WAVES, 2-3 things should happen. Firstly, the shooting process in India should become easier not only for us Indian filmmakers but those who want to come to shoot here from abroad. This is because India has so much to offer – it is so culturally rich and so beautiful. We also go abroad and shoot but can we invite atithis (guests) to come here and give them all the infrastructure.”

He added, “Secondly, the festivals have markets where films are sold all over the world. That should happen with WAVES.”

Shah Rukh Khan further said, “Lastly, the call of the day is a lot more theatres, simpler theatres and cheaper theatres in smaller towns and cities so that we can showcase Indian films, made in various languages, to a larger majority of Indians at cheaper rates. Otherwise, it is becoming very expensive and also, our cinemas are mostly concentrated in big towns. We keep talking about the China model with regard to the number of theatres; that can happen here as well. (Once we have more cinemas), it’ll increase footfall. Thus, we’ll be able to give entertainment at a cheaper price and in every corner of the country.”

What is important is how you want to make a place in the field of your choice. Most people start assuming, ‘I am from the outside world. Only the privileged will get a chance. I don’t have such a distinguished background. Hence, I’ll not get (the chance)’. If you start wallowing in self-pity and have such thoughts, you’ll never give your full force of energy to make a space for yourself in the world that you want to be a part of.”

He continued, “Also, let me tell you that the world that you want to be in, doesn’t give a damn about you! You are very insignificant. Unko koi fark padta hai ki Deepika kahan se aayi, Karan kahan se aayaaur Shah Rukh kahan se aaya. They don’t care if you are from a filmy or non-filmy background or whether you are rich or poor. It’s your choice. You have to find a space in that sphere by pushing it and finding out how the world works. Then, you give your best to it.”

SRK further said, “When I came here, I never thought that I couldn’t be a part of the world because I am an outsider. I believed, ‘Yehi meri duniya hai’. To be honest, from day 1, everybody in the film industry embraced me with open arms, like a new son landing at Marine Drive! In 24 hours, I lost one whole family and I gained a new family.”

Shah Rukh Khan ended his answer by saying, “Ambition, hunger, pain, problems etc. are just lofty words. You need to be determined. I had the ability and a little bit of skill as well. Itna talented nahin hoon main! But I did a lot of hard work. That’s all you need to make a place as an outsider.”

While performing at East Point College in Bengaluru, Sonu Nigam was interrupted by a student who “rudely” requested that he sing in Kannada. In response, the singer paused his performance to address the audience, reaffirming his respect for the language and the people of Karnataka. He also linked the student’s reaction to the recent Pahalgam attack, drawing attention to broader issues of sensitivity and unity.

In a now-viral video, Sonu Nigam is heard addressing the crowd following the incident. He said, “In my career, I have sung in multiple languages but the best songs that I have ever sung are in the Kannada language. Whenever I come to your city, I come with lots of love. We do a lot of shows in a lot of places, but whenever we have shows in Karnataka we come with a lot of respect for you. You have treated me like your family, but I didn’t like when the boy there, who is not even as old as my career, is rudely threatening me to sing in Kannada.”

The singer drew a parallel between the student’s “irrational” outburst and the recent Pahalgam incident, stating, “This is the reason behind the incident in Pahalgam. Please see who is standing before you. I love you guys.”

Expressing his affection for the state, the singer said, “I do so many shows across the world where thousands of people gather, and every time I hear even a single person shouting ‘Kannada’, I make sure to sing at least one line in Kannada for them. That’s how much I love and respect all of you. So please be kind.”
