Bollywood actress and Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut has moved into her official residence in New Delhi. The actress celebrated the occasion with a housewarming ceremony on Akshaya Tritiya in 2025. The century-old house has been restored, blending its historical charm with modern touches.

The residence features elegant decor, including wooden furniture, antique chandeliers, and Indian-inspired portraits. Kangana shared glimpses of the house and a video of the housewarming puja, where she was joined by her family. The house features a blend of vintage and modern decor, including wooden furniture, antique chandeliers, Indian-inspired portraits, and white marble flooring.

It is worth mentioning that she moved to the new residence a couple of weeks after she accused the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board of an inflated electricity bill of Rs 1 lakh. However, the electricity board denied the claim and stated, “Ms Kangana Ranaut has been consistently paying her monthly bills late. The electricity bills for January and February were paid on March 28, 2025, with a total consumption of 14,000 units. This clearly indicates that her average monthly consumption is very high, ranging from 5,000 to 9,000 units.”

The statement further read, “The electricity bill of Rs 90,384 issued on March 22, 2025, is for two months of electricity consumption and includes a previous payment of Rs 32,287. Therefore, the claim that the bill is for a single month is entirely misleading.”

Now, speaking of the work front, the 39-year-old actress was last seen in Emergency, which was released on January 17 this year. She keeps giving updates on her upcoming venture on her social media, including her next project with R Madhavan. Touted to be a psychological thriller, it will mark their reunion after a decade.

A court in Mumbai has granted actor Malaika Arora a last chance to appear as a witness in the 2012 hotel brawl case involving actor Saif Ali Khan. The court warned that a non-bailable warrant will be issued against her if she fails to appear on the next hearing date, July 9.

The warning comes after Arora failed to comply with summons and skipped the hearing on April 29, despite a bailable warrant already being issued against her. Chief Judicial Magistrate K S Zanwar observed that Arora was “intentionally” avoiding legal proceedings, noting that while her lawyer was present in court, she chose not to appear.

The incident in question took place on February 22, 2012, at a five-star hotel in South Mumbai. Saif Ali Khan and two others—Shakeel Ladak and Bilal Amrohi—were arrested following a complaint by NRI businessman Iqbal Mir Sharma. The complainant alleged that Khan punched him, causing a nasal fracture, after he objected to the loud behavior of Khan and his companions.

According to the police, Khan was accompanied by his wife Kareena Kapoor, her sister Karisma Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora, and some friends when the altercation occurred. Sharma also claimed that Khan and his friends assaulted his father-in-law, Raman Patel.

Khan has denied the allegations, asserting that Sharma made provocative remarks and used abusive language towards the women in the group, which escalated the situation. Khan, Ladak, and Amrohi have been charge-sheeted under Section 325 of the Indian Penal Code, which pertains to causing grievous hurt.

The court initially issued a bailable warrant against Malaika Arora on February 15, which was re-issued on April 8 after she failed to appear. Her continued absence prompted the magistrate’s latest warning.

The matter is now scheduled for further hearing on July 9.

Salman Khan is going through a career low post back to back failures in the form of Sikandar, Tiger 3, Kisika Bhai Kisiki Jaan, Antim, Radhe, Dabangg 3 and Bharat. The superstar was supposed to on do director Atlee’s next, but the film got shelved owing to the studios lack of faith to invest 600 crore on Salman. As a replacement to Atlee, Bollywood Hungama has exclusively learnt that Salman Khan has initiated conversation with Apoorva Lakhia.

A source tells us, “Jordy Patel introduced Salman Khan to Apoorva Lakhia, and that’s when the duo jammed over a script. Apoorva had acquired the rights to Novel – India’s Most Fearless 3 – a while back and discussed the idea with Salman. He loved the thought of this novel and is contemplating on signing on for the film.”

The source tells us further, “Salman is excited by the thought of playing an army officer in a film set against backdrop of Galwan Valley battle of 2020. He is seriously considering this as a follow up to Sikandar and if all goes well, the film will go on floors in 2nd half of 2025.”

Salman was offered a film by Kabir Khan and Ali Abbas Zafar too, but he choose Apoorva Lakhia’s script. “Salman wanted to work with someone he has not collaborated with before, and hence has the idea of this film. Apart from him in the lead, the film will also feature 4 more talented actors.”

Interestingly, if this collaboration happens, both Salman and Apoorva will be coming off disasters and looking for a revival in career. Next fews days would be interesting at Galaxy Apartments!

The late filmmaker Sanjay Gadhvi’s daughter Sanjina Gadhvi played the younger version of actress Meeta Narain in the Manoj Bajpayee and Sharmila Tagore starrer Gulmohar (2023). But she will be making her acting debut as a lead in a short film quirkily titled The Butcher of Thane, which is written and directed by Aaradhya Dev Shandilya. The film also stars Rajat Barmecha of Udaan fame and Shaan Groverr. For those not in the know, Thane is a city in the outskirts of Mumbai.

Sharing more about the film, Shaan exclusively told Bollywood Hungama, “This is a thriller. Rajat Barmecha is in the lead and I am playing his best friend. It’s a small cameo. The director really wanted me to be a part of it. The crew working on the film was very good. I shot it for two days.”

Shaan added more about his role saying, “It’s a very interesting part. I play a guy called Rocky; it is also my dad’s name. It has a great cast. Sanjay Gadhvi’s daughter (Sanjina) is also the lead. So, it’s basically about the three of us and who is the murderer. It’s a whodunit. I have been a fan of Rajat since Udaan. It’s mostly them. I just had a cameo. But I really enjoyed. The character was fun. He brings in the comic relief. They (Sanjini and Rajat) are serious and my character is the one who brings the fun.”

Shaan also revealed that veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai has already seen The Butcher of Thane. “Subhash Ghai sir loved it. They (the makers) were all Whistling Woods (Ghai’s institute) students. So, they made Subhash sir also watch it. He said some really nice things about the short film,” said the actor.

Shaan was last seen in the third season of his web series Dus June Ki Raat with Tusshar Kapoor. He also has another web project titled Jagdalpur, which is produced by Harman Baweja.

The much awaited film Raid 2 is all set to release tomorrow, that is, May 1 and several shows are fast filling. At the same time, however, several single screens are yet to begin advance bookings for the Ajay Devgn starrer and also other releases of the week.

A trade source told Bollywood Hungama, “Apart from Raid 2, a major Hollywood film, Thunderbolts, is also releasing on May 1. And that’s not all. Two significant Marathi films, Gulkand and Ata Thambaycha Naay, are also up for release to take advantage of Maharashtra Day holiday in the home state. Lastly, The Bhootnii will also arrive in cinemas tomorrow.”

The source continued, “All these films are being handled by prominent distributors. Raid 2 is distributed by Panorama while Zee Studios is releasing Ata Thambaycha Naay and The Bhootnii. PVR Inox, meanwhile, is releasing Gulkand while Disney is distributing Thunderbolts. Raid 2 will, of course, have an advantage as it’s the biggest film of the week. But Thunderbolts also has an audience. Meanwhile, the big issue is in dividing shows between the two Marathi movies. Certain theatres, where Marathi films attract footfalls, are carefully planning the shows. They need to give equal showcasing to both films. While doing so, they can’t give a raw deal to Raid 2 either. Hence, the situation is quite complex.”

As of 3:30 pm on April 30, most single screens in Mumbai haven’t begun the advance booking for tomorrow like Citylight Mahim, Gold Dadar, MovieTime Star City Matunga, Plaza Dadar, MovieMax Andheri, New Excelsior, etc. Theatres like Mukta A2 Roxy Opera House and Mukta A2 Orion Santacruz are playing all shows of Raid 2. Inox Nakshatra Dadar, on the other hand, has decided to play 3 shows of Raid 2 and one show each of Thunderbolts, Gulkand and Ata Thambaycha Naay.

The source said, “The Inox Dadar strategy makes sense as the area predominantly consists of Marathi speaking population. English films work well in PVR Le Reve Bandra and hence, it’s playing two shows of Thunderbolts and 4 shows of Raid 2. But the same can’t be applied in other areas. As a result, every cinema is planning a programme which in in sync with the local population’s tastes and the demand of the distributors. We expect things to get resolved by 6:00 pm today.”

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are among the most celebrated pair of the modern era, having acted together in Om Shanti Om, Happy New Year, Pathaan, and Jawan. While the duo is all set for Pathaan 2 in 2027, Bollywood Hungama has an exclusive scoop on Deepika Padukone’s cameo in King.

According to sources, Shah Rukh Khan was keen to cast Deepika for King from the beginning in an extended cameo. “Shah Rukh Khan had bestowed the responsibility of casting Deepika Padukone to his director, Siddharth Anand. However, Deepika wasn’t sure to come on board the film, as she is presently focusing on her personal life and spending time with the newborn. She politely refused the offer, and then Siddharth Anand reached out to Katrina Kaif, who is also on a break, and said no to the part,” a source shared on anonymity.

Once Katrina was out, Siddharth suggested the name of Sonam Bajwa, whereas Shah Rukh Khan was exploring Priety Zinta. “But as they say, nothing can top luck. Before approaching Priety Zinta, SRK thought of speaking to Deepika and seeing if the dates could be worked around. Deepika was open to shoot for King in October/November, and SRK redesigned the schedule with his director Siddharth Anand to accommodate Deepika Padukone in the film,” the source told us further.

According to the source, SRK considers Deepika to be one of the biggest stars of the modern era and also his lucky charm. “So well, when SRK and DP spoke, everything was sorted and back on track. DP was always the first choice and ended up being a part of the film.”

King is scheduled to begin in May 2025.
