Aamir Khan has decided to postpone the trailer launch of his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par following the recent tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. The attack, which claimed the lives of several Indian tourists, has deeply affected the nation. On April 22, a brutal terror attack left 26 people dead and many others injured when gunmen opened fire on tourists in Pahalgam. This incident stands as one of the most heartbreaking attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.

The trailer, which was originally set to be released this week as part of the film’s promotional campaign, has been postponed. In light of the tragic attack, Aamir Khan and his team made the decision to delay the launch as a gesture of respect for the victims and their families.

A source close to the film’s development told Hindustan Times, “Aamir Khan and his team felt it would be inappropriate to proceed with the launch at this time. A new release date for the trailer will be announced later.”

The terror attack in Pahalgam occurred around 2:30 pm on Tuesday, leaving a devastating aftermath of grief and terror. Among the 26 victims were a young Navy officer, who had just been married days earlier, and an Intelligence Bureau official, who was tragically shot in front of his wife. Officials confirmed that the casualties also included two foreign nationals, one from the UAE and the other from Nepal, as well as two local residents.

Returning to the big screen, Aamir Khan is set to make his comeback with Sitaare Zameen Par. His last film, Laal Singh Chaddha, was released in 2022. Reports suggest that the trailer for Sitaare Zameen Par will be launched by Darsheel Safary. Announced in 2023, the film stars Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh in prominent roles.

According to independent industry sources, “Darsheel Safary will be launching the trailer for Aamir Khan’s highly anticipated upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par. After he delivered a flawless performance in Taare Zameen Par and became a star, it will be exciting to see Darsheel unveiling the trailer and being a part of the sequel to the 2007-released film. More details about the trailer launch are awaited.”

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are immersed in filming emotionally charged night scenes for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War at Film City’s Joker Maidaan in Goregaon. The current shooting schedule, which began earlier this month, focuses on pivotal monologues and confrontational sequences. The film, also starring Vicky Kaushal, marks a high-profile collaboration under Bhansali’s meticulous direction.

A source close to the production revealed that the team is dedicating this phase to key moments in the love story. “The actors have been shooting from 6 p.m. onwards, wrapping up in the early hours,” the source told Mid-Day. Ranbir Kapoor began filming on November 7, 2024, starting with the opening sequence, followed by Vicky Kaushal, who joined by November 20. Alia Bhatt kicked off her portions in December. The ongoing schedule is expected to conclude by the weekend, after which the team will transition to indoor scenes.

Having said that, it is worth mentioning here that recently, Bollywood Hungama reported that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has delayed Love And War from the March 2026 slot due to a delay in shooting. A source told us, “There is a 3-month delay in the shooting schedule, which in turn has led to a 3-month delay in release. After moving aside from the Eid 2026 release slot, the next best for Sanjay Leela Bhansali is Independence Day weekend, which gels well with the film’s theme of Love & War.”

Love & War, an action-romantic drama set against a war backdrop, reunites Bhansali with Ranbir Kapoor after 17 years since Saawariya (2007) and marks his second project with Alia Bhatt following Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022). It is Vicky Kaushal’s first collaboration with the acclaimed filmmaker. Ranbir and Vicky reportedly portray Indian Army officers, with Alia playing a cabaret dancer, though specific plot details remain under wraps.

Rohit Basfore, an actor set to appear in the upcoming season of the popular web series The Family Man 3, was found dead near a waterfall in Assam’s Garbhanga forest on Sunday evening, April 27. According to a report by Odisha Bytes, authorities confirmed multiple injury marks on his body, prompting suspicions of foul play. The actor’s family has alleged murder, citing a recent parking dispute and naming several individuals as suspects.

Basfore, a 28-year-old rising talent in the Indian entertainment industry, had returned to his hometown of Guwahati from Mumbai a few months ago. On Sunday, he left home around 12:30 PM for a picnic with nine colleagues, including a gym owner named Amardeep, who reportedly invited him for the outing. His family grew concerned when they lost contact with him in the evening. Hours later, authorities recovered his body near the Garbhanga waterfall, and he was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.

An autopsy conducted at Guwahati Medical College Hospital on Monday revealed multiple injuries, including wounds on his head, face, and other parts of his body. “An official familiar with the case stated that the matter is being investigated thoroughly, and efforts are ongoing to locate the four accused individuals, who are currently on the run,” the report quoted a source.

The actor’s family has pointed to a recent parking dispute as a possible motive, alleging that three individuals—Ranjit Basfore, Ashok Basfore, and Dharam Basfore—had threatened to kill him. They also named Amardeep as a person of interest in the case. “Rohit’s family has reported this to be a murder as he had been involved in a fight over parking recently,” a police source confirmed, as per the report.

Manoj Bajpayee, Basfore’s co-star in The Family Man 3, expressed his grief on X, writing, “May God bless your soul with peace Rohit Basfore!! Gone too soon! Our condolences to the family!!”

Suniel Shetty, Akanksha Sharma, Sooraj Pancholi, director Prince Dhiman and producer Kanubhai Chauhan launched the trailer of their historical action drama, Kesari Veer, at a multiplex in Mumbai. Suniel Shetty stole the show, especially with his quote on Hera Pheri (2000).

While talking to the media, he remarked that it might be difficult to sell tickets for a patriotic film. A journalist observed that Akshay Kumar also does nationalist films and that they do well at the box office. Suniel Shetty clarified, “I was not refering to Akshay. I was talking about myself. Akshay is a superstar! Meri pichhli filmein nahin chali hai.”

The journalist pointed out that even Suniel Shetty was a superstar. The veteran actor smiled and replied, “Ticketein nahin bikti na, beta! That matters the most. I guess there’s a lot of love for me in people. But log kisi kisi ko free mein dekhna chahte hai. Shayad mujhe free mein dekhna chahte hai (laughs)! Hopefully, with Kesari Veer, there will be a change.”

The journalist then asked if he and Akshay Kumar would join hands for a patriotic film. Suniel reminded her that they both are working on Hera Pheri 3. The journalist was bewildered and noted that Hera Pheri is not exactly a patriotic film.

Suniel Shetty, however, disagreed with her, “Woh deshbhakti ki film hai! Yeh film desh ko khush rakh sakti hai. The problem with today’s children is that they are not mentally happy. Hera Pheri should be watched so that everyone is at peace and mentally happy. Hera Pheri ke characters gareebi mein haste bhi hai aur logon ko hasate bhi hai. And if we get a partner like Babu Bhaiya, that is like an icing on the cake!” As expected, the attendees went into a frenzy over this answer.

Kesari Veer releases in cinemas on May 16.

The film marks the return of Sooraj Pancholi, and he got overwhelmed with the love he got for the trailer and also by the words of Suniel Shetty.

Suniel Shetty reminded the audience of the obstacles Sooraj Pancholi faced in his life when he was accused of abetting the suicide of actress Jiah Khan. The court, however, acquitted him of all charges.

Suniel Shetty said, “This kid has put on a lot of hard work. He has gone through a lot in life. Everybody gets another opportunity. Trust me, this is the opportunity that the Almighty has given, that Mahadev has given (to Sooraj). You’ll see this in this film. He’s unbelievably good. For me, it’s like my son Ahan on screen, every time I see Sooraj. That’s the kind of effort he has put in. That’s why I pray for him, and I hope that the film works and creates the magic that we all believe it should.”

Sooraj Pancholi began by saying, “This is a very special film to all of us.” Before he could talk further, he had tears in his eyes, and he went silent. The media also were stunned and a few seconds later, they all cheered for him. Suniel Shetty, meanwhile, comforted him.

The sudden development was a déjà vu for old-timers. 10 years ago, Sooraj Pancholi was launched in Hero (2015) by superstar Salman Khan. This was also the time when Sooraj was going through legal issues. When he came on stage at the trailer launch, Sooraj had got similarly emotional. That time, Salman had comforted him.

During the question-and-answer media session, Sooraj Pancholi was asked about his absence. He replied, “I had to clear many things. Everyone knows about it. There’s no hiding behind it. My mother says that good things take time. And I was waiting for the right film. I don’t think I would have gotten a better film than this to make a comeback.”

Kesari Veer releases in cinemas on May 16.

It commits to its narrative without any unnecessary frills. Also, the script has a sense of humour which I enjoyed very much. I am thrilled that the film will be closing The New York Indian Film Festival. Festival audiences are discerning and I totally value their response. Also, I am always very moved by how the Indian diaspora reconnects with their homeland through the stories we tell. It is very moving to witness that.”
