Earlier in the month, Bollywood Hungama reported that Kartik Aaryan will be leading a creature comedy to be produced by Karan Johar and Mahaveer Jain. We also informed that the actor had replaced Akshay Kumar in the film, and the project was all set to start in the second half of 2025. And now, there’s more scoop to this film. According to reliable sources, Kartik Aaryan is all set to start shooting for his creature comedy directed by Mrighdeep Lamba from September 2025.

A source informed Bollywood Hungama exclusively, “The film is titled Naagzilla, which is a take-off from the cult Hollywood blockbuster, Godzilla. The film is a spoof with a lot of humour, and the title is in sync with the world of the story-telling. The title indicates a fun ride, and the script is among the funniest written in recent times.”

We hear that the team was contemplating on multiple titles ranging from Icchadhari Naagin, to Naagvilla, but finally zeroed down on Nagzilla. “Everyone is supremely excited for Nagzilla, and the prep work has already begun. It’s a one of its kind snake comedy, with the core conflict revolving around Kartik Aaryan taking on the snake. The tale has an element of adventure too.”

An official announcement of Nagzilla will be made shortly with a poster as the team has already done a photoshoot.

Director Puri Jagannadh recently unveiled his most ambitious Pan-India project, starring Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi. Announced on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi, this epic extravaganza will be produced lavishly by Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur under their banner, Puri Connects.

In this highly anticipated venture, Puri Jagannadh will present Vijay Sethupathi in a never-before-seen role, showcasing the actor’s immense range and versatility. The script has been meticulously crafted by Puri, ensuring that every character holds significant weight. The narrative is set to be an intense and gripping tale, where each character contributes meaningfully to the unfolding drama.

Adding to the excitement, actress Tabu comes on board for a very pivotal role in the film. Known for her selective choices, Tabu was immediately drawn to the character and the compelling storyline, which led her to give her consent to be a part of this ambitious project.

The regular shoot is slated to begin in June, and the movie is set to be released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.

The makers will announce the other cast and crew of the movie soon.

In 2023, Salman Khan was set to reunite with Dharma Productions for an army-based action thriller, The Bull. The action-packed thriller had a mahurat ceremony in December 2023 but never took off due to multiple issues, ranging from budgetary concerns to Salman Khan’s suggestions and more. As Sikandar failed to do the trick at the box office, an insider has shared the real reason for The Bull to be put on the backburner.

The insider told us, “Salman Khan had liked the idea of Bull, as the film was to tell a story of a senior paramilitary officer and his junior. The film had lots of action and was set against the backdrop of the India – Maldives conflict. While everything was in place, some recommendations from Salman Khan forced Vishuvardhan to rethink the decision to make The Bull.”

We asked our insider to share Salman’s recommendations, and the insider shared, “Salman Khan wanted Vishnuvardhan and Karan Johar to launch Shera’s son Abir aka Tiger with The Bull. However, Karan and Vishnu, on the other hand, were looking for a better casting by roping in an actor like Sidharth Malhotra for the part of junior paramilitary officer, and given the success of Shershaah, it was a no-brainer. Salman tried to convince Karan and Vishnu on the launch, but the duo felt that launching a new face was not the option for a character as important as the one in discussion.”

The source informed us that Bull was supposed to be a Rs. 250 crore magnum opus, excluding Salman Khan’s acting fees, and the team was in no mood to compromise on the production front. On realising that the casting changes could impact the story telling of the film, they decided to put a full stop with a promise of teaming up on something better.

The Bull stands shelved at the moment, with no hopes of revival. Bollywood Hungama reached out to Dharma Productions and Salman Khan Films for a comment, but they were unavailable.

Kartik Aaryan has always been candid about his journey in the film industry, and in a recent conversation with Filmfare, the actor once again proved why he’s seen as one of the most grounded stars of his generation. Addressing the constant media buzz around his rising stardom, Kartik opened up about a recent report claiming he’s charging Rs 50 crore for a film—and the narrative that his “PR game” is stronger than ever.

“Am I the only actor who has received such a price? Nobody writes about others. Everyone writes about me,” Kartik said, clearly hinting at the targeted nature of the speculation. The actor, who rose to fame with Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and has since delivered multiple box office hits, didn’t mince words when talking about how he’s often singled out in the media.

When asked whether his PR machinery is behind such stories, Kartik firmly denied having any such setup working for him. “The thing is, I don’t have a spokesperson. I don’t have a family here. I don’t have my uncle, or my dad or my sister or my girlfriend spreading positivity about me in the articles or in the industry,” he said.

Kartik, who has built his career without a godfather in the industry, pointed out how his journey has often irked people who believe success shouldn’t come without connections. “This news is coming from somewhere else. It’s not necessary that this is needed. I don’t need this to prove anything. There are some who get irked by the fact that people make it on their own. And they try to make stories about that person a lot more,” he added.

Speaking of the professional front, the 34-year-old actor was last seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. He will be next seen in Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, backed by Karan Johar-owned Dharma Productions.

Tamannaah Bhatia has joined the cast of Ranger in Ooty, marking a significant development in the film’s shoot schedule. The picturesque hill station is currently hosting a crucial leg of the movie, with lead actors Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah reuniting on-screen after a notable gap. The makers are focusing on key scenes involving the two stars. The anticipation around their on-screen dynamic is high.

A source close to the development told Bollywood Hungama, “Tamannaah has joined the team in Ooty, and her portions for Ranger have officially gone on floors. The current schedule involves shooting some intense and emotional scenes between her and Ajay Devgn. It’s a crucial leg of the film, and the entire unit is excited to capture the chemistry between them after such a long gap.”

The film sees Ajay play the role of a forest officer while Tamannaah’s character is currently kept under wraps. The two were last cast opposite each other in Sajid Khan’s Himmatwala (2013) more than a decade ago. Interestingly, Tamannaah has a dance number ‘Nasha’ in Ajay Devgn’s soon-to-be-released Raid 2.

Ranger is directed by Jagan Shakti, who is known for his multi-starrer hit saga Mission Mangal (2019). The film is expected to wrap its Ooty schedule in the coming weeks before moving to its next location. This has got to be the biggest pay-jump in the history of the entertainment business. Sunny Deol, who was a paid a mere Rs 8 crores for the mega-blockbuster Gadar 2, has taken home a pay packet of… hold your breath…. Rs 50 crores for his new release Jaat, which opens today.

Confirming this astronomical pay hike, a source in the know argued, “Sunny has been accepting payment on the lower side for years. Now, after Gadar 2, he has taken a pay hike, which he deserves.”

But isn’t the hike of six-times the price given earlier a little too much? “All is fair at the box office as long as the star delivers,” said the source.

Directed by Gopichand Malineni, Jaat also stars Randeep Hooda, Viineet Kumar Siingh, Regena Cassandrra, Ramya Krishnan, Saiyami Kher among others.
