Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha expecting first child; actress shares heartfelt post

Actor Parineeti Chopra has announced that she is expecting her first child with husband Raghav Chadha. Taking to Instagram on Sunday, the actress shared a heartwarming post that left her fans and industry colleagues overjoyed.

Parineeti’s post featured an image with the words “1+1=3” along with two small feet doodled beneath it, symbolising the arrival of their baby. In a short video shared in the same carousel, Parineeti and Raghav could be seen strolling hand in hand through a lush green park. Captioning the post, the actress wrote, “Our little universe … on its way,” followed by a nazar amulet, hatching chick, and pink heart emojis. She added, “Blessed beyond measure,” and concluded with teary-eyed and folded hands emojis.

The announcement was met with an outpouring of love from fans and celebrities alike. Actors Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Bhumi Pednekar, Huma Qureshi, Rakul Preet Singh, and stylist Tanya Ghavri were among the first to drop congratulatory messages. Parineeti’s mother, Reena Chopra, also expressed her joy in the comments section, writing, “There is no bigger blessing than this! Love you guys! May God continue to shower his blessings on you always. Stay happy and blessed!”

The pregnancy announcement comes two years after Parineeti and Raghav’s much-talked-about wedding. The couple tied the knot in September 2023 at The Leela Palace in Udaipur, in a grand yet intimate ceremony attended by close family members, friends, and prominent personalities from Bollywood and politics. Parineeti’s cousin, global star Priyanka Chopra, was among those who blessed the couple, while several political dignitaries attended from Raghav’s side. The wedding celebrations, which included mehendi, sangeet, and haldi ceremonies, were widely covered on social media and became one of the most high-profile celebrity weddings of the year.

Parineeti, who was last seen in Amar Singh Chamkila opposite Diljit Dosanjh, has often spoken about balancing her career and personal life. The actress is currently gearing up for a multi-starrer Netflix show with the likes of Jennifer Winget, Anup Soni, among others which is expected to be a mystery thriller. Meanwhile, her husband Raghav Chadha is a senior leader from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and has also been in the spotlight for his political career as much as his high-profile marriage.

Inspector Zende Trailer: Netflix promises a showdown between Manoj Bajpayee and Jim Sarbh in a high-stakes cat-and-mouse chase

Netflix has unveiled the trailer of its upcoming film Inspector Zende, set to stream exclusively on the platform from September 5. Written and directed by Chinmay Mandlekar and produced by Jay Shewakramani and Om Raut, the film is loosely inspired by the real-life story of Inspector Madhukar Zende, a street-smart Mumbai cop who became a legend for capturing the notorious “Swimsuit Killer,” Carl Bhojraj — not once, but twice.

Set in an era before CCTV surveillance and digital forensics, Inspector Zende traces the relentless pursuit of a cop who relied on instinct, resourcefulness, and teamwork to bring down one of the city’s most elusive criminals.

The film stars Manoj Bajpayee in the titular role, with Jim Sarbh portraying Carl Bhojraj. The supporting cast includes Sachin Khedekar, Bhalchandra Kadam, Harish Dudhade, Onkar Raut, Bharat Savale, and Nitin Bhajan as part of Zende’s trusted team. Girija Oak and Vaibhav Mangale also appear in key roles. The trailer teases a mix of quirky camaraderie, intense drama, and an unforgettable chase that spans across cities before culminating in Goa.

Sharing his thoughts on playing Inspector Zende, Manoj Bajpayee said, “What fascinated me about Inspector Zende was that he wasn’t chasing glory — he was just doing his job, yet caught one of the most notorious criminals twice. Tina Ahuja breaks silence on Govinda-Sunita divorce buzz: “It’s all rumours”

Bollywood actor Tina Ahuja has finally responded to the persistent rumours surrounding her parents, Govinda and Sunita Ahuja, and their alleged divorce. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Tina dismissed the reports outright, calling them baseless and untrue.

“It’s all rumours. I don’t pay attention to these rumours,” Tina said firmly. She further added, “I feel blessed to have a beautiful family, and I’m truly grateful for all the love, concern and support we’ve been receiving from the media, fans, and loved ones.”

The clarification comes after weeks of speculation that began when Sunita Ahuja shared an emotional vlog online. The video sparked chatter about potential trouble in the couple’s marriage. This was followed by claims that Govinda and Sunita were living separately, and further fuel was added when some reports suggested that Tina herself had filed for divorce at the Family Court in Mumbai.

Adding to the confusion, Govinda’s manager had earlier told media outlets that a divorce petition was indeed filed by Sunita months ago. However, he also clarified that the two have since decided to give their marriage another chance. In fact, the manager confirmed that the family is planning to come together for the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, hosting their traditional Ganpati pooja at home as always.

For fans of Govinda, the veteran actor known for his evergreen comedy and dance moves, the rumours had come as a shock. His decades-long marriage with Sunita has often been cited as one of the stronger partnerships in Bollywood. While disagreements between the couple have made headlines in the past, both have largely maintained a united front in public.

Tina’s strong dismissal of the rumours signals that the family is working towards moving past the speculation. With the festive season around the corner and the Ganpati celebrations being a major family tradition, the Ahujas seem determined to show that they are very much together.

As of now, neither Govinda nor Sunita have issued a direct statement. But with Tina’s comments and the upcoming family celebration, it seems the divorce chatter has been firmly put to rest—at least for now.

Guneet Monga Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap to present Manoj Bajpayee’s Jugnuma (The Fable), Raam Reddy directorial locks September 12 theatrical release

Do you believe in magic? Brace yourself for an extraordinary cinematic journey with multiple National Award winning actor Manoj Bajpayee as he headlines the upcoming feature Jugnuma, whose English title is The Fable.

The magical-realism drama is the second feature directorial of Raam Reddy, who had stunned the world with his 2016 Kannada National Award winning debut Thithi.

After picking up glory across film festivals—including premiering at Berlin International Film Festival, winning Best Film at Leeds International Film Festival and Special Jury Prize at MAMI Mumbai Film Festival—the makers on Monday announced that Jugnuma will hit the big screen in India on September 12, with two globally renowned names coming on board as Executive Producers: Academy Award Winner Guneet Monga Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap.

Set in the late 80s, the film follows Dev (Bajpayee), who discovers mysteriously burnt trees in his sprawling estate of fruit orchards nestled in the Indian Himalayas. In spite of all efforts, more fires break out, leading him to see himself and his family for who they truly are. The film also stars Deepak Dobriyal, Priyanka Bose and Tillotma Shome, among others.

“I had loved Raam’s Thithi, which was so rooted and genuine, and with Jugnuma, he has created a film that feels timeless,” Anurag Kashyap said in a statement. The acclaimed helmer, who has previously collaborated with Bajpayee on the game-changing two-part epic Gangs of Wasseypur, called his act in the film “unlike anything” the audience has seen before.

“The film is deeply humane yet magical in the way it unfolds. And at the centre of it, Manoj Bajpayee delivers a performance unlike anything we’ve seen before — restrained, enigmatic, and profoundly moving. It’s a film which I am extremely proud to present it to the Indian audience,” Kashyap added.

Guneet Monga Kapoor (Presenter & Executive Producer) Sikhya Entertainment, said that when she first saw Jugnuma, it felt like a mirror. “It unsettled me, comforted me, and reminded me of cinema’s deepest purpose. Raam Reddy is one of the most exciting voices in Indian cinema today, and with Manoj Bajpayee and an extraordinary ensemble cast bringing his vision to life, this film feels like a modern classic in the making.”

Monga Kapoor said the movie has been shot on film, even in this digital era, and so, every grain of colour speaks, adding to its timeless beauty. “We are proud to bring it to audiences in India, because films of this calibre deserve to be experienced and celebrated in theatres,” she added.

With Hindi dialogues penned by Varun Grover, the film will get an India-wide release by Flip Films. Writer-director Raam Reddy called creating Jugnuma a deeply personal journey, revealing that it draws heavily from memory, folklore and history.

“I feel grateful that it resonated with global audiences before coming home to India. To have cinematic visionaries like Anurag Kashyap and Guneet Monga join us as presenters is a huge honour, and having Flip Films to distribute it gives me immense joy. The film was designed to be a larger than life sensory experience and it was always my dream that its sense of scale should be experienced in theatres. I cannot wait to share that cinematic world with a Pan-India audience on September 12,” said Raam Reddy.

Ranjan Singh of Flip Films called Jugnuma one of the rare movies that reflect the passion and honesty with which it was mounted in every frame. “At Flip, we are always eager to distribute such films to a wider audience and we’re proud that Raam chose us to do it. I am extremely confident that the film will remain with the audience for a long time after they see it.”

Also starring Hiral Sidhu and Awan Pookot, the movie is produced by Prspctvs Production, in collaboration with Maxmedia and Sikhya Entertainment.
