In the clip, Gupta shared how she carries homemade snacks during long airport waits—specifically, roti rolls packed in a tiffin filled with potatoes, chillies, paneer, onions, and other ingredients—with the caption: “Shorts wali desi girl.”

The video, featuring the actor dressed in a casual black outfit and shorts and speaking directly to the camera in the airport lounge, earned a mixed reaction from viewers. One commenter wrote, “Very good …only request dont show your legs ,they are not well toned …we have never seen dadi mummy showing their legs this way …ageing gracefully is excellent.”

Unfazed by the criticism, Gupta fired back with characteristic confidence and candor, “Don’t worry. These people who talk like this are basically jealous that they don’t have such good body, so ignore.”

Notably, many fans came to Gupta’s defence in the comments, with one pointing out, “What a demeaning comment from another WOMAN. Congratulations for being such a body shamer and being part of the problem.”

Within a span of 7 days, everything around the YRF Spy Universe has come crashing down. What looked like a franchise that couldn’t go wrong – with back-to-back 5 hit films – witnessed the first failure since 2012. After successfully delivering Pathaan and Tiger 3 in 2023, the hopes were high for Aditya Chopra’s War 2 with Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. in the lead.

To make it a tentpole feature spectacle for the viewers, Aditya Chopra left no stone unturned by mounting it on a historical budget of Rs. 450 crores (All Inclusive). However, the production house’s risk has not paid off. Reliable industry sources have confirmed that YRF will be losing big money on War 2. “Around Rs. 150 crores have been recovered from the sale of digital, satellite, and music. The theatrical share in the best-case scenario from here will be Rs. 140 crores from the worldwide box office. This means YRF is set to lose approximately. Rs. 60 to 70 crores on War 2.”

The source further confirmed that this is the biggest disaster for YRF in the modern era, along with the Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan film Thugs of Hindostan. “The Monday numbers have come down crashing, and it’s the death of the franchise at this point in time. In fact, the failure of War 2 has also impacted the future spyverse slate of YRF.”

The losses to YRF aside, the Telugu distributor of the film, Naga Vamsi, too, will lose 65 percent of his investment. “Naga Vamsi acquired War 2 for Rs. 90 crores, and the Telugu share of War 2 will be less than Rs. 40 crores. He is set to lose over Rs. 50 crores on War 2.”

After back-to-back hits in the form of Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3, War 2 is the first failure from the YRF Spy Universe.

On the other hand, ever since her debut in Laapataa Ladies, Nitanshi Goel has been consistently winning hearts, be it her super-glamourous avatars on the internet or the buzz around her upcoming projects.

According to an industry insider, Nitanshi currently is in talks to join Sunny Deol in the yet-to-be-titled actioner. A few weeks ago, paparazzi had spotted Nitanshi outside Siddharth P Malhotra’s office, sparking strong buzz about her casting. While there’s no official confirmation yet, the source suggests that the young actress might be roped in for a significant role alongside Sunny Deol.

Several crew members on the sets of Dhurandhar, the highly anticipated Ranveer Singh-starrer, recently fell ill during filming in Leh, prompting immediate medical attention. Initial reports speculated that poor food quality or cost-cutting measures on set might have caused the incident, but local authorities have now clarified that the matter was part of a wider chicken contamination issue reported across Leh, unrelated to the facilities or food provided by the film’s production.

A source associated with the project stressed, “This is one of the biggest films in production right now. Why would there be any need for cost cutting at all? Leh is an incredibly difficult terrain to shoot. This is a unit of over 300 people. There was a local contamination issue which led to this. It is horrible that such ridiculous rumours are floating.”

Insiders also highlighted that the safety and well-being of the crew have always been a top priority. “Health, hygiene, and crew safety have consistently been treated as top priorities. Additional precautions and stricter supplier checks are now in place, even as the unit has resumed work,” the source added, reassuring fans that filming continues under controlled conditions.

Dhurandhar is now in its final leg of production, with a few weeks of shoot remaining in Leh. The source confirmed, “We have another few weeks of shoot left here. We will wrap and be back in Mumbai by mid-September.”

Directed, co-written, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar, the film is backed by producers Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar under Jio Studios and B62 Studios. Featuring an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Akshaye Khanna, alongside Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi in supporting roles, Dhurandhar is set against a high-stakes intelligence operation involving complex political conspiracies, national security threats, and personal dilemmas.

Presented by Jio Studios, a B62 Studios production, Dhurandhar is written, directed, and produced by Aditya Dhar, and produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar. The spy action thriller has generated significant buzz, with fans eagerly awaiting its scheduled release on December 5, 2025. I never wanted that, but from that time, they started putting pressure on me to get married. I was focused on my work and not interested at all. Because of this, I had many arguments with my family. So I started living away from them, because whenever I met them, there would be fights about this, and I really don’t like fighting. My family got angry, and my mother got angry, because I refused to marry my aunt.”

The actor further claimed that his differences escalated after he penned a letter exposing personal details about his family members. He went on to add, “When I got upset with my family, I wrote a letter. I wrote about every family member’s story. Nikkhat, my elder sister, got married three times. Aamir was married to Reena Dutta. He was having an affair with Jessica Hines, and they even have an illegitimate child out of wedlock. At that time, he was living in with Kiran. I wrote all this in the letter, so they became angry with me. Then everyone turned against me and said, ‘Declare him mad.’”

The announcement quickly stirred up heated debates within the Indian film fraternity, with many filmmakers and artists voicing concerns over the lack of a humane touch in creativity.

Among those who expressed strong displeasure was filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, known for his unfiltered opinions and acclaimed works like Gangs of Wasseypur. Taking to Instagram, Kashyap shared a long note sharply criticizing the production houses for this move and questioned the role of artist representation agencies in enabling such projects.

Kashyap’s post read, “Congratulations @vijaysubramaniam84 . Here is the man heading the @lifeatcollectiveartistsnetwork that represents artists, writer, directors , now producing a film made by AI . So much for looking after and representing the interests of creators. End of the day , all these agencies are only interested in making money off you and since they choose turkeys after turkeys for you and you’re not making enough for them , they are going all AI.”

He further continued, “Any actor or anyone who calls themselves artists and has a spine will be and should be either questioning him or leaving the agency since he has proved that he thinks you’re no match for his AI performance . Mahesh Manjrekar and Sanjay Dutt once made for an envious director-actor jodi. Both collaborated for the first time on Vaastav (1999). The film turned out to be a cult and is considered to be one of the most accomplished performances of the actor. Later, Mahesh Manjrekar directed Sanjay Dutt in Kurukshetra (2000), Hathyar (2002), Pitaah (2002), Rakht (2004), Viruddh (2005) and Vaah Life Ho Toh Aisi (2005). If all goes well, both might join hands once again, after nearly two decades, for the remake of the acclaimed 2024 Marathi film, Juna Furniture.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Mahesh Manjrekar directed Juna Furniture and he played the main lead. The film got a lot of critical acclaim for its message, subject and performances. Mahesh realized that it has the potential to touch the Hindi-speaking audiences as well. Hence, he has begun work on the scripting of the Hindi remake.”

The source further said, “He has approached Sanjay Dutt as he feels that the veteran actor will do complete justice to the role. Both Mahesh Manjrekar and Sanjay Dutt are fond of each other. They have had a great time working with each other and it’s been a while since they collaborated on a project. This was also a reason why the filmmaker was keen on getting the actor on board. However, Sanjay Dutt is yet to reply to Mr Manjrekar on whether he’ll be able to act in the remake.”

Juna Furniture is the story of a senior citizen and his son, an IAS officer. The senior citizen often finds himself in need of money and has to ask his son for it. Once, when the father has a similar need, the son is unavailable. The father is so distraught with this experience that he files a case against his son. The film also starred Bhushan Pradhan, Anusha Dandekar, Sameer Dharmadhikari, Sachin Khedekar, Shivaji Satam, Upendra Limaye and Mahesh’s wife Medha Manjrekar.

Meanwhile, there were reports earlier this year that Mahesh Manjrekar and Sanjay Dutt might also collaborate on Vaastav 2.

The much-anticipated Hindi romantic film Param Sundari, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, has sparked a wave of outrage among Malayali content creators. Several creators have voiced strong objections to the film’s portrayal of Kerala culture—and now accuse the film’s makers of silencing dissent after critical posts were removed from Instagram.

Singer and RJ Pavithra Menon was among the first to publicly criticize the portrayal of Malayali women in the trailer, particularly targeting the stereotypical depiction that includes jasmine flowers worn in hair and Mohiniyattam dance scenes in everyday life. In her now-deleted video, she asked, “Women in Kerala do not walk around wearing jasmine flowers and dancing Mohiniyattam.” The video was removed after Instagram flagged it due to a copyright claim by Maddock Films.

Menon shared a screenshot of the takedown notice and ironically quipped, “Happy Independence Day to everyone who has a voice.” Undeterred, she re-uploaded the video while expressing her frustration that a Hindi actor was chosen to represent a Malayali character. She asked, “What’s the problem with employing a proper Malayali actor? Are we less talented? This does not happen in Kerala. We don’t wear jasmine flowers around or do Mohiniyattam in offices and homes.” She further suggested simplifying pronunciation challenges by saying, “simply use Trivandrum instead of Thiruvananthapuram – we’ll be satisfied.”

Another content creator, Vedangi, echoed this criticism and leveled accusations against the film’s team. In a new video, she stated, “The team behind this movie is currently suppressing all Malayali creators. Several creators have complained about this. Instead of conducting a thorough study, they chose to capitalise on Kerala’s culture. The portrayal is extremely out of touch and disrespectful.” She also emphasized that their critiques fall within fair use under Section 52 of the Copyright Act, arguing, “We are free to express our criticism. However, every Mallu creator who mocked the trailer has received copyright infringement notices. This is silence, pure and simple. You may have cast or dubbed a Malayali actress. I think silencing us was worthwhile.”

This backlash adds another layer to the controversy surrounding Param Sundari, following earlier discontent from the Christian community over a romantic sequence filmed in a church. The community had called for the removal of that scene from the film’s song.
