Hina Khan hits back at trolls targeting her for supporting India; says, “I am not anything if I am not an Indian”

Hina Khan has showcased how she wears her patriotism with pride. The popular actress, known for speaking her mind, recently became the target of online abuse after she supported her country India amidst the ongoing Indo-Pak tensions following Operation Sindoor. In a strongly worded Instagram story, Hina addressed the hate she received and made it clear that her loyalty lies unwaveringly with her country.

“In my Life, I only saw affection from across the border. After supporting my Country before and after Operation Sindoor. Many of you abused me, cursed me, Many have unfollowed me. Many more threatening to unfollow me. This threat is accompanied by Abuses, Salacious and Demeaning Hate directed not just to me but to my Medical Condition, My Family and even my Faith,” she wrote, without mincing her words.

While Hina didn’t name the nationality of the trolls, her words strongly suggested that the backlash may have come from across the border. Despite the hatred directed at her, the actress decided to gracefully express disappointment rather than bitterness. “I don’t expect you to support my country. You support yours that’s ok, I don’t expect you to understand the nuances beyond the mutual alienations. I only hoped that you will conduct yourself at least as humanly as I have been towards you all,” she insisted.

The note continued with Hina reinforcing her national identity and her refusal to be intimidated or swayed by the hate. “But I Guess, that’s the Difference. I am not Anything if I am not an Indian. I will always be an Indian, First. So, Go Ahead. UNFOLLOW ME I Don’t Care. I did not abuse or curse any of you.. I only supported my country.. What you say defines you. What you choose defines your ideology. How you act in tough times shows your depth as a Human Being. It has nothing to do with Me. No matter what I will support my country… Jai Hind.”

This isn’t the first time Hina has taken a stand on a social issue, and her latest post only reflects her resilience and courage. As tensions rise on the border, her message serves as a reminder of the emotional toll that public figures often endure when expressing their patriotism.

Movie named Operation Sindoor announced by Nicky Vicky Bhagnani Films and The Content Engineer, first poster also released

Nicky Vicky Bhagnani Films and The Content Engineer have officially announced their upcoming film titled Operation Sindoor, inspired by India’s rapid and strategic response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack. The film is based on the Indian Armed Forces’ operation of the same name, which took place on the night of May 6 and 7, targeting nine terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and neutralizing several terrorists.

The title of the operation, ‘Sindoor’ carries profound significance. In Hindu tradition, sindoor is a sacred symbol of marriage, typically applied by women along the hair parting or worn as a tilak by warriors preparing for battle. The title highlights the disturbing details of the April 22 Pahalgam attack, where terrorists specifically targeted men, some of whom were newly married, based on their religious identity.

The poster for Operation Sindoor presents a striking image of a female soldier, facing away from the viewer, in uniform and holding a rifle, as she applies sindoor to her head—symbolizing the fusion of feminine identity with patriotic duty. Set against a fiery, war-torn backdrop featuring tanks, barbed wire, and fighter jets overhead, the poster conveys themes of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism. The title ‘Operation Sindoor’ is prominently displayed, with the second “O” replaced by a smear of sindoor, while the phrase “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” in tricolor enhances the patriotic sentiment.

The cast for Operation Sindoor has not been revealed yet, but the film will be directed by Uttam Maheshwari.

Nicky and Vicky Bhagnani have previously produced Nikita Roy, a psychological thriller starring Sonakshi Sinha, set to release worldwide on May 30. Directed by Kussh S Sinha, the film delves into mysticism and psychological tension, and also features Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal, and Suhail Nayyar.

EXCLUSIVE: No IMAX release for Final Destination Bloodlines in India due to Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning; Sinners FINALLY gets screened in Eros, Priya and Paras IMAX

Final Destination Bloodlines was all set to release in India on May 16 and the studio, Warner Bros, had planned to screen it in the prestigious IMAX screens as well. Fans of the series, too, were looking forward to it and they’ll be disappointed to know that the supernatural flick will now skip an IMAX release thanks to Tom Cruise-starrer Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.

A trade source told Bollywood Hungama, “The initial plan was that Final Destination Bloodlines will arrive in cinemas on May 16 while Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will release a week later, on May 23. Both are IMAX releases. A few weeks ago, it was decided to prepone the release of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning by Paramount Pictures not just in India but in other key markets like South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Australia, etc. Now, the film will arrive in cinemas on Saturday, May 17.”

The source continued, “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning managed to have an upper hand and secure all shows in all IMAX screens in India. As a result, Final Destination Bloodlines had to let go of those screens.”

The source further added, “However, Warner Bros is working on ensuring that Final Destination Bloodlines gets a decent showcasing across the country in original English and dubbed versions. They have preponed the release by a day and now their film will hit the theatres on May 15 in India. The studio is confident that the audience in the first two days will make enough noise about their film so that it doesn’t get completely overpowered by Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. Warner has also asked multiplexes for justified showcasing. They are fully aware that the Tom Cruise-starrer is much bigger than their film and therefore, are being reasonable. Their only demand is that Final Destination Bloodlines’ shouldn’t release for just two days in their cinemas and that shows should continue even after the release of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.”

Sinners back in IMAX

In a heartening development, the acclaimed Hollywood film Sinners is back in IMAX. And this time, it has also got showcasing in the standalone IMAX screens of Eros in Mumbai and Priya and Paras in Delhi.

Bollywood Hungama was the first one to report that Sinners was removed from Eros IMAX Cinema in Mumbai and Delhi’s Priya IMAX and Paras IMAX and was replaced by non-IMAX movies like Kesari Chapter 2 and Jaat. The news spread like wildfire in the industry and angered a lot of moviegoers as well.

From today, May 9, Sinners will play daily at 10:30 pm at Eros. In Paras, it has one show at 2:55 pm. Meanwhile, in Priya, Sinners has been allotted two shows, one at 9:00 am and one at 5:45 pm. The film is expected to play until the release of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning in IMAX.

Interestingly, despite the niche appeal, Sinners is running steadily at the box office and is expected to cross the Rs. 10 crore mark.

Rupali Ganguly hits back at Fawad Khan for criticising India; says, “You working in Indian films was also shameful for us”

Television star and newly turned politician Rupali Ganguly has strongly reacted to the recent remarks of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan on Operation Sindoor, calling out his criticism of India’s counter-terror actions. For the unversed, Operation Sindoor was a strategic offensive conducted by Indian armed forces in retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed several tourists and security personnel in Jammu & Kashmir. The operation, which targeted terror camps across the border, has since sparked sharp reactions from both nations, intensifying already fragile diplomatic ties.

The Anupama actress took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “You working in Indian films was also ‘shameful’ for us”, addressing the Pakistani star’s statement that branded the military operation as “shameful”.

You working in Indian films was
also ‘shameful’ for us.#OperationSindoor #IndianArmy #IndianAirForce pic.twitter.com/B7CeuQcb2t
— Rupali Ganguly (@TheRupali) May 7, 2025

Fawad Khan, who enjoys a large fan base in India and is known for his performances in Bollywood films like Khoobsurat, Kapoor & Sons, and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, had earlier condemned the Pahalgam attack but criticised India’s retaliatory strikes. His comments calling Operation Sindoor “shameful” did not sit well with many Indian celebrities and political figures, leading to a barrage of backlash on social media.

Rupali Ganguly, who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on 1 May 2024 at the party headquarters in Delhi, has been vocal about her nationalist stance since stepping into politics. Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, she supported the Government’s decision to impose a digital ban on Pakistani content. “Hats off to Modi Govt for banning Pak streaming content! In times of tension, we must protect our digital borders”, she wrote on X earlier this year, praising the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s move to restrict cross-border entertainment as a matter of national security.

Hats off to Modi Govt for banning Pak streaming content! In times of tension, we must protect our digital borders
#PMModiji #Pakistan #OTT

— Rupali Ganguly (@TheRupali) May 8, 2025

This isn’t the first time Indian public figures have criticised Pakistani actors for commenting on political or military matters involving India. The tension between Indian and Pakistani artists continues to reflect the larger political narrative, where art and diplomacy collide under the shadow of security and nationalism.  However, Ganguly’s remark stands out for its bluntness, especially considering Fawad Khan’s past success in Indian cinema.
