Bollywood’s socialite influencer Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, along with seven others, has been booked by the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Police for allegedly consuming alcohol near the revered Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra. The news, reported by ANI, has drawn attention due to the strict regulations in place around the holy site, which prohibit intoxicants and non-vegetarian food to honor its religious significance.

FIR Filed Against Orry and Group
According to the J&K Police, an FIR (No. 72/25) was registered at Katra Police Station against eight individuals, including Orry, for violating a District Magistrate’s order. The accused, identified as Orhan Awatramani (Orry), Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Ritick Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal, Shagun Kohli, and Russian national Anastasila Arzamaskina, allegedly consumed alcohol at a hotel in the Cottage Suit area of Katra. This location, situated close to the Vaishno Devi shrine—one of Hinduism’s holiest pilgrimage destinations—falls under a prohibited zone where such activities are strictly banned.

The police action follows reports that the group’s behavior not only breached local laws but also hurt religious sentiments, prompting swift intervention by authorities. “The FIR was lodged after credible information about the incident came to light,” a police official confirmed.
Who Are the Accused?
Orhan Awatramani, better known as Orry, is a Mumbai-based content creator and social media personality who has gained fame for his close ties to Bollywood’s Gen Z and Millennial stars. Often spotted at high-profile parties, Orry is a familiar face alongside celebrities like Janhvi Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Urvashi Rautela, and Bhumi Pednekar. Accompanying him in this incident was Anastasila Arzamaskina, a Russian national, along with six other individuals named in the FIR.
Strict Regulations Around Vaishno Devi Shrine
The Vaishno Devi shrine, located in the Trikuta Hills of Reasi district, attracts millions of devotees annually. To preserve its sanctity, the surrounding areas, including Katra, enforce stringent rules banning alcohol, drugs, and non-vegetarian food. The Cottage Suit area, where the alleged incident occurred, falls under these regulations, making the group’s actions a direct violation of both legal and cultural norms.
J&K Police Promise Robust Action
The Reasi Police have taken the matter seriously, forming a special investigation team led by SP Katra, Dy SP Katra, and SHO Katra to probe the incident. “Notices will be issued to all accused, including Orry, directing them to join the investigation,” a police official told Times Now. SSP Reasi stated the administration’s zero-tolerance policy toward such violations, stating, “Anyone found indulging in activities like alcohol or drug consumption at religious sites will face strict action, regardless of their status.”

The sequel to Andaaz (2003) is all set to release this year and its producer-director Suneel Darshan has already unveiled a few of its assets. While the teaser was unveiled on January 31, the songs ‘Tere Bin Kahin Dil Na Lagey’, ‘You’re Beautiful’ and ‘Ishq Junooni Hai’ were dropped at regular intervals later on. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Suneel Darshan spoke about the film and a lot more.

What prompted you to make Andaaz, a sequel to a film which came 22 years ago? Did the blockbuster success of Gadar’s (2001) sequel Gadar 2 (2023) play a part?
Honestly, there was no calculation behind making Andaaz 2. When I wrote the script, I realized that Andaaz 2 is a befitting title. It’s not the same story but somewhere, the storytelling was in the same zone and also, it was a musical and a love triangle just like Andaaz and much more. That’s how we ended up calling it Andaaz 2.

At what stage did Aayush Kumar enter the picture?
He was cast at the eleventh hour. There are two important roles in the film – of the lead guy’s friends. The lead man was yet to be cast and at the same time, I was also casting people around his character. That’s when the casting director brought Aayush along. While talking to him, I realized that this guy could be the lead. I signed him and I don’t think it dawned on him for some time that he was going to play the lead (laughs)!

In Andaaz, you had Akshay Kumar and in Andaaz 2, you have cast Aayush Kumar!
(Laughs) Yes, that’s a coincidence!

Were you always in favour of casting newcomers in Andaaz 2?
Yes. Even Andaaz had a fresh cast.

Except Akshay Kumar…
He was our in-house hero during that time. For 7 years, we did several films together, which was quite a record. That film had 2 newcomers and so did this film – Aayush Kumar and Aakaisha. Natasha Fernandez has done one film with me before (Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha; 2017). Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta became quite big thanks to Andaaz; here’s hoping the same happens with these two newcomers as well!

Have you been in touch with Akshay Kumar? Did you tell him about Andaaz 2?
I haven’t met him since Dosti (2005). I never got an opportunity to meet him. Once or twice, he wished me on my birthday.

In Andaaz 2’s teaser, I saw there’s a bit of action as well…
Yes. And that was present even in Andaaz briefly. The action in Andaaz 2 is a little more (than the first part). Having said that, it’s not an action film. It’s a social, romantic film. Andaaz was on the lines of Prem Rog (1982) and Milan (1967). Andaaz 2 is not on the lines of any film. It has a novel subject which I would not like to disclose at this point. But it is peppered with music, drama, comedy, action, etc.

Talking of music, Nadeem has composed the music. In the teaser, we could see that a line from a song of Andaaz, ‘Yehi toh dil churane ka andaaz hota hai’ has been recreated in the sequel, albeit with a small change in the lyrics…
I thought some aspects, which are intrinsic to the series, should be incorporated in the sequel. When you have the availability of the song, then why not use it?

How much time did it take to compose the music?
We took our time constructing the music. It was very important to the structure of the film. Also, that era was of Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. They worked in all of our films. Sonu Nigam had just come in at that time. But as two decades have passed since then, we signed new and formidable singers. I retained Shaan as he was appropriate for one of the songs. Neeraj Shridhar has sung one song. From the younger lot, we have Javed Ali, Palak Mucchal, Asees Kaur, Amit Mishra, Mohd Irfan and Shadab Faridi. In short, there are 9 singers.

When can we expect the trailer to be out?
It should be out around Eid. The theatrical trailer usually comes 3 to 4 weeks before a film releases.

You have a long association with Panorama Films. Will they distribute Andaaz 2?
We haven’t taken a final call. They proposed to come on board. I want to finish the film, show it to them and then decide.

Nowadays the window has lessened between the release of the trailer and the film…
Yes, because often the makers don’t have that much material (to promote). Nowadays, all they want is one hook song, one optional song and that’s it. We are the Orientals – we are not Hollywood. Our subject deals with Oriental issues, however modernized we may be. Our music, which is so intrinsic to our storytelling, has to be there.

Would you like Akshay Kumar to be a part of the trailer launch?
Well, I would not want to mix things. Let them (Andaaz 2 cast) have their share of the limelight. I don’t want that to deviate from anything.

Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency was released on Netflix last week, and she has been sharing new reactions and reviews for it on Instagram. One person suggested that the film should win an Oscar, but Kangana doesn’t appear to be particularly interested in that idea.

A person tweeted, “#EmergencyOnNetflix should go for the Oscars from India. Kangana, what a film.” Kangana reposted the tweet with her own message, saying, “But America wouldn’t like to acknowledge its real face, how they bully suppress and arm twist developing nations. It’s been exposed in #Emergency. They can keep their silly Oscar. We have National Awards.”

Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta also praised the film, writing, “Today I watched EMERGENCY by @KanganaTeam. Very frankly I wasn’t planning to as I had prejudged it. I’m so glad that I was wrong. What a fantastic film by Kangana both performance and direction. Top-notch & World Class.”

Kangana replied, “Film industry must come out of its hate and prejudices and acknowledge good work, thanks for breaking that barrier Sanjay ji, the barriers of preconceived notions, my message to all filmi intellectuals, never keep any notions about me, mujhe samajhne ki koshish bhi mat karna, main pahunch se bahar hoon.”

Another person praised her acting in the movie, and she responded, “People are calling my acting in #Emergency amazing and my best ever. Could I surpass Queen, TWM2, Fashion, Thalaivi? Watch #Emergency and find out.”

Emergency was released on Netflix on Friday, and by Sunday evening, it was trending at number 1 on the movies list, followed by Ajay Devgn’s Azaad and Naga Chaitanya-Sai Pallavi’s Thandel.

Also directed and produced by Kangana Ranaut, Emergency depicts the months of the Emergency and features her in the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film chronicles the 21 months of Emergency imposed in 1975 by the then Prime Minister. This verdict, delivered on March 10, 2025, empowers Novex Communications, as a copyright assignee, to issue licenses without registering as a copyright society.

This landmark decision against DXC Technologies P Ltd and Cognizant Technologies Solutions India Pvt Ltd aligns with the Bombay High Court’s January 24, 2024, ruling, which recognized copyright assignees like Novex Communications as “owners” with the authority to issue licenses. The Madras High Court’s division bench has now conclusively overturned the earlier order, settling the position that Novex Communications can issue licenses as owners without any restrictions.

The implications of this case are far-reaching, offering greater flexibility for music owners and assignees to issue licenses and protect copyrights in India.

This decision is a significant milestone for Novex Communications and sets a precedent for the musical copyright licensing business in India.

Nearly two weeks are left for the release of A R Murugadoss’ Sikandar and the excitement is slowly building up for Salman Khan’s Eid release. Bollywood Hungama has learned about the promotional plans of the film.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The makers of Sikandar are all set to announce the release date of the film in the coming week. If all goes well, the date will be announced by Tuesday, March 18 or Wednesday, March 19. Until now, there has been a suspense on whether the film will be out on Friday, March 28, Saturday, March 29 or Sunday, March 30. Hence, this update is very crucial. There are also plans to unveil a massy poster of the film while unveiling the release date.”

The source further added, “That’s not all. Tomorrow, Monday, March 17, the makers will unveil the teaser of the third song and it’ll be out later in the week.” As per a report in Pinkvilla, this song is an end-credit number and also features Rashmika Mandanna along with Salman.

The source then revealed, “The trailer of the film will be out in the coming week, that is, a week before the release. The advance booking is also expected to start at the same time.”

There has been a lot of restlessness among Salman Khan fans with regards to the unveiling of the assets. The source added, “The makers have consistently come up with assets. They unveiled the teaser on February 18, on producer Sajid Nadiadwala’s birthday. Then, the teaser of ‘Zohra Jabeen’ was unveiled on March 2 and the song was launched the next day, on March 3. Later, ‘Bam Bam Bhole’ teaser was released on March 10 and the song on March 11. Hence, the makers have been steadily enhancing the build-up and in the coming two weeks, the promotions will get a boost big-time, which is sure to satisfy the fans of the superstar.”
