Sunny Villa in Juhu, Mumbai is a go-to place for celebrities as well as journalists. Owned by the popular actor Sunny Deol, it houses Sunny Super Sound, a preview theatre and two post-production suites. In January, the celebs and media persons were in for a surprise during their visit to this iconic place as the much-loved canteen area was shut. A new F&B area was erected on the other side of the premises. Many assumed that the canteen area would be revamped and be back to its original place. Bollywood Hungama, however, has learned that it’s not the case.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Popular actress and model Malaika Arora is opening her café in the space, where once the canteen stood. The work is going on in full swing and is expected to open next month, that is, March 2025.” The source, however, doesn’t have information on whether it’ll have a new branch of Malaika’s café in Bandra, Scarlett House, or will it be a new eatery altogether.

Scarlett House opened its doors on December 3 and is managed by Malaika Arora and her son, Arhaan Khan. Nestled in a picturesque 90-year-old Portuguese bungalow in Pali Hill, Scarlett House’s menu features health-conscious dishes, including Malaika’s signature recipes such as Paneer Thecha and spice-baked Sea Bass.

Sunny Super Sound was in the news in August 2023 when a notice in The Times Of India dated August 20 published by Bank Of Baroda stated that Sunny Villa would be e-auctioned for non-payment of dues amounting to nearly Rs. 56 crores. However, a day later, the auction notice was withdrawn due to technical reasons.

The opening of Malaika Arora’s eatery in Sunny Super Sound marks the beginning of a new chapter in this property, which was established in the late 80s. Thanks to the café, the property, which allows only celebrities and journalists, will be thrown open to the public for the first time.

Starring Rajkummar Rao in and as Maalik, the film showcases the actor like never before—stepping into the shoes of a ruthless gangster with a striking new intensity. The poster, which received an overwhelming response from fans, teased Rao’s fierce transformation, setting the stage for a gripping action spectacle.

The film marks a significant shift in Rao’s filmography, as he dives into an edgy, larger-than-life character that blends raw power with emotional depth.

Directed by Pulkit, known for his work in thrillers and dramas, Maalik is currently in post-production.

There have been recent reports about Kill director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat doing a mythological film with Ram Charan. The filmmaker, however, has denied all such reports. Along with that, he also spoke about life after Kill and his upcoming project in an interview with us.

There are reports that you are directing a mythological with Ram Charan in the lead?
Not true at all, sir.

Kill brought you the kind of acceptability most directors only dream of
2024 was a monumental year for me, not in the sense of life-changing, but as a door-opening experience. With Kill receiving critical acclaim both in India and abroad, I feel I’ve stepped into a world where stories can transcend borders, connecting with audiences locally and globally.

Kill got you attention on a global platform
It’s been incredibly fulfilling to see the film resonate with so many people. More than success, it’s the validation of storytelling that has made this year special.

Would you call it a life-changing experience?
I wouldn’t call it life-changing. It’s not as though everything has turned upside down. But it has been very crucial in setting the stage for what I want to do next. It’s kind of given me the confidence to take bigger creative risks and push boundaries in storytelling. To me, it’s less about success and more about growing as a filmmaker.

Which are the filmmakers who have inspired you?
For me, it’s not just directors but specific films that have shaped my creative instincts. Films like Satya, Shiva, Naya Daur, Aliens, The Dark Knight Rises, Tezaab, The Departed, Caché, The Beat That My Heart Skipped and many more! They have all left a deep impact. Each of these films has something unique to offer—whether it’s their raw emotion, relentless energy, gripping narrative, or sheer audacity. They’ve all taught me how to use cinema as a tool to engage, provoke, and connect.

What do we see from you next?
I’m currently working on a new story. And while it’s too early to reveal much, I can promise that it will stay true to my love for action but will go deeper emotionally. It’s a film that’s going to challenge me like no other project has before, and I’m excited to explore new dimensions of storytelling with it.

Akshay Kumar is set to return with another historical drama as his upcoming film, previously titled Shankara, has been renamed Kesari Chapter 2. Bollywood Hungama was the first one to report this earlier this month. The makers have now shared that the much-anticipated sequel to Kesari has officially been titled Kesari Chapter 2 – The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh.

The makers—Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films—have also revealed that the film is set to release on April 18, 2025. Co-starring R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday, the film is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films, and Leo Media Collective.

Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the historical drama stars Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday in pivotal roles. The film will delve into the tragic events surrounding the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919, promising an intense and emotional cinematic experience.

With Akshay Kumar reprising his role in another patriotic drama, R. Madhavan bringing his acting prowess, and Ananya Panday stepping into an unexplored genre, expectations are sky-high.

Earlier, a source told Bollywood Hungama, “Kesari, an emotional action film, was about the sacrifice of Sikhs during the pre-Independence era. The C Sankaran Nair film is a courtroom drama and, in that regard, it is very different from the 2019 film. However, since it also deals with the brave Sikh community’s contribution and sacrifice against the British and stars Akshay Kumar, the makers felt that Kesari Chapter 2 is an apt title.”

Theatre actors Jena Pandya and Ashley Day will play Simran and Rog (Roger) in Come Fall in Love – The DDLJ Musical, a stage adaptation of the Bollywood blockbuster Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ). The film, released in 1995, remains the longest-running title in Indian cinema, continuously playing in Mumbai.

Directed by Aditya Chopra, the show makes its UK premiere at Manchester Opera House on Thursday 29 May 2025, and runs until Saturday 21 June 2025.

Jena Pandya (Bhangra Nation, Mamma Mia) said, “I’m so thrilled to be playing Simran in Come Fall In Love – The DDLJ Musical. Ashley Day is an actor, singer, and dancer known for his leading performances in the UK and the USA. On-screen, he appears as Colin McNaughton in the Netflix series Dynasty.

In a heartfelt note, he reflected on how Hollywood legends like Marlon Brando and James Dean influenced him during his early acting training. He also reminisced about working with the film’s legendary director and the acclaimed cinematographer and photographer, Nemai Ghosh.

It is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video.
