As mentioned earlier, reports suggest that the film’s title has been finalized as Dhurandhar. Recently, actor Rakesh Bedi, who is also a key part of the action entertainer, confirmed the title in his Instagram post wherein he shared details of the film being wrapped up. However, later on, the actor deleted the post.

Creating box office storm and winning audiences’ hearts in cinemas, Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again remains unstoppable, continuing to break records with its OTT premiere. With the holiday season in full swing, audiences worldwide have made Singham Again their top choice. The film has secured a spot in the global Top 10 releases on Amazon Prime Video, according to FlixPatrol data. The film is trending at No. 1 in seven countries and remains in the Top 10 across 23 countries.

During the same, when Siddharth questioned whether a South filmmaker can create a box office record by taking a new face as the star of the film, Boney Kapoor jumped in to respond and said, “Yes absolutely. Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh’s much-anticipated New Year’s Eve concert in Ludhiana has sparked legal controversy. The event, which was part of his ongoing Dil-Luminati India Tour, became the center of attention after a complaint was filed against the artist for performing songs with alcohol references, such as ‘Patiala Pegg’, ‘5 Tara Theke’, and ‘Case (Jeeb Vicho Feem Labbiya)’.

Complaint Sparks Legal Action
As per a report by ANI, the complaint, filed by Punditrao Dharenavar, an assistant professor from Chandigarh, highlighted concerns about the impact of these songs, especially on young audiences. The complaint prompted the Deputy Director of the Women and Child Department in the Punjab Government to issue a formal notice to the Ludhiana District Commissioner. The notice urged local authorities to prevent Diljit Dosanjh from performing the controversial tracks during his live concert.
Legal Precedents and Warnings
Dharenavar’s complaint references prior warnings issued to Dosanjh by several commissions, advising against performing these songs, which are accused of glorifying alcohol consumption. Even with modified lyrics, the songs have remained a point of contention.

The legal challenge gains weight from a 2019 ruling by the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which directed the police to ensure that no songs promoting alcohol, drugs, or violence are played at public events. The ruling noted that such songs have a detrimental impact, especially on children in the audience.
Criticism Over Song Choices and Values
Dharenavar also criticized Dosanjh for performing these songs while wearing a pagadi, a traditional headgear. He expressed that associating such negative messages with the revered symbol could send the wrong message to the audience, particularly to young impressionable minds.
Past Legal Scrutiny for Diljit Dosanjh
This legal issue is not the first for Diljit Dosanjh regarding his music’s alcohol references. Earlier in 2024, the singer had received a legal notice during his concert in Hyderabad, where similar complaints about his song lyrics were raised. Additionally, at his Indore show, he faced accusations regarding black market ticket sales.

The screening, which will feature the 4K restored version of the film, is scheduled for January 1, 2025, at 8 p.m. This screening marks a significant moment as Manthan is not only a cinematic gem but also a tribute to the man whose contributions to Indian cinema continue to inspire generations of filmmakers.

Restored Version of Manthan to Air on Doordarshan
The restored 4K version of Manthan, a monumental film inspired by Dr. Verghese Kurien’s White Revolution, has been carefully preserved by the Film Heritage Foundation (FHF). The restoration was showcased at the Cannes Classic section earlier in 2024. The process was made possible with support from the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. (Amul), whose farmers funded the original production. The Film Heritage Foundation confirmed the screening date through a post on their official X page, marking this event as a poignant homage to Benegal’s legacy.

Despite fervent chatter within the industry, an independent source claims that fans hoping for a Rowdy Rathore 2 in the near future will be disappointed.

The Rowdy Rathore franchise, known for its mass appeal, high-octane action, and charismatic performances, has long been a favorite among audiences. The 2012 film, starring Akshay Kumar in a dual role, became a massive hit at the box office. In the wake of its success, rumors about a sequel have been circulating for years.

However, according to an industry insider, no real progress has been made in terms of production or script development. The source shared, “Rowdy Rathore 2 news is exciting enough to make rounds in the media but no such development has happened at the production house’s end. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has made a startling revelation about his plans to move out of Mumbai, citing his growing discontent with the Hindi film industry. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, the Gangs of Wasseypur director expressed frustration with what he described as the “stifling” environment created by the industry’s current practices and mindsets.

Creative Burnout in Filmmaking
“I am moving out of Mumbai,” Kashyap stated emphatically, explaining that his dissatisfaction stems from the escalating costs of filmmaking and the growing focus on profitability over creativity. “Now it is difficult for me to go out and experiment as it comes at a cost, which makes my producers think about profit and margins. Right from the beginning, before the film starts, it becomes about how to sell it. So, the joy of filmmaking is sucked out,” he lamented.

The director revealed his intention to relocate to the South, where he believes there is more creative stimulation. “I want to go where there is stimulation. Otherwise, I will die as an old man. I am so disappointed and disgusted by my own industry,” he said.
Criticism of Talent Management Agencies
Kashyap reserved harsh criticism for talent management agencies, accusing them of exploiting young actors for profit and prioritizing stardom over genuine talent development. “Nobody wants to act—they all want to be stars. The agency won’t make anybody a star, but the moment someone becomes a star, the agency makes money off them. They will brainwash them and tell them what they need to do to become a star. They won’t send them to workshops but to the gym—it’s all glam-glam because they have to be massive stars,” Kashyap explained.

He also shared an incident involving an actor who distanced themselves on the advice of their agency, only to return seeking guidance after being abandoned by the agency. “This is what the agency does—they just make money off you. They aren’t invested in building new careers,” he added.
Ghosted by Friends and Industry Peers
Anurag Kashyap further revealed his disappointment with actors he once considered friends. “My actors, whom I thought of as friends, ghost you because they want to be a certain way. That happens mostly here; it doesn’t happen in Malayalam cinema,” he noted.

The filmmaker’s disillusionment with the Hindi film industry contrasts sharply with his recent experience in Malayalam cinema, where he made his acting debut in the film Rifle Club.
