Bollywood star Ayushmann Khurrana will headline the first big film from the anticipated creative collaboration between Yash Raj Films and Posham Pa Pictures that aims to produce disruptive and immersive theatrical experiences for today’s audience.

India’s biggest legacy media company, Yash Raj Films, announced last week, an exciting creative partnership with Posham Pa Pictures regarded as one of the most forward-thinking voices in Indian entertainment today. This collaboration will see the two jointly produce theatrical films starting 2025.

This partnership is in line with YRF’s vision to build out a new creative business model under the company’s CEO, Akshaye Widhani, who is strategically building out the studio model within Yash Raj Films as a producer. This is Akshaye’s second film as a producer after the Mohit Suri young love story that launches Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda.

A senior trade source reveals, “This yet untitled project is a genre-bending theatrical film. It will deliver an incredibly new visual experience for people in theatres. Ayushmann Khurrana, who has made content disruption his calling card, is headlining the first film from YRF’s theatrical collaboration with Posham Pa Pictures. This partnership is looking to deliver a unique, engaging, and immersive theatrical experience like never before and for them, there was no one better actor than Ayushmann Khurrana to helm a project that will keep you at the edge of the seats from the word go.”

The partners at Posham Pa Pictures, Sameer Saxena, Amit Golani, Biswapati Sarkar and Saurabh Khanna have together and individually been part of a lot of widely acclaimed and highly celebrated stories like Kaala Paani and Maamla Legal Hai.

The year 2025 will kick off with the most awaited aerial action-drama film, Skyforce, set against the backdrop of the heated Indo-Pak tensions during the 1960s-70s. The film marks the collaboration of two visionary filmmakers, Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur. It features superstar Akshay Kumar alongside promising debutant Veer, Sara Ali Khan, Nimrat Kaur, and Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, Jio Studios, and Amar Kaushik (director of Stree 2).

Skyforce is all set to hit theaters on January 24, 2025, during the Republic Day weekend. The film has been shot at various locations, including Mumbai, Lucknow, Sitapur, Amritsar, Hyderabad, Delhi, Pathankot, the UK, and now Mussoorie, where a special song has been filmed.

Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur took to Instagram to express their gratitude toward the entire crew. Sandeep Kewlani shared, “I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who worked on Skyforce. Sandeep Kewlani, who not only directed but also wrote the script, has been accompanied by talented writers such as Niren Bhatt (Stree 2, Bala, Stree 1) and Aamil Keeyan Khan (Drishyam 2, Shaitan). Together, they have created a gripping narrative that promises high-octane action and a pure cinematic spectacle that Hindi film audiences are craving.

The action in the film is choreographed by Craig Macrae, who is known as an action choreographer, action director, and stunt coordinator. Some of his notable work includes Jawan (2023), Pathaan, War, and other Hollywood blockbusters like Mad Max: Fury Road, Grimsby, and Alien Outpost. He was mentored by Indian action director Parvez Shaikh, known for Kill, Fighter, and the YRF Tiger & Spy franchise, among others.

Soon, the motion poster, teaser, trailer, and songs will be released by Maddock Films to build anticipation. Produced by Dinesh Vijan, Amar Kaushik, and Jyoti Deshpande, Skyforce is gearing up for its theatrical release on January 24, 2025. Sonakshi Sinha has strongly criticized veteran actor Mukesh Khanna for his recent comments blaming her father, Shatrughan Sinha, for her lack of knowledge about the Ramayana. The actress, taking to her Instagram Stories, expressed disappointment at Khanna’s repeated reference to her inability to answer a question about the Hindu epic on Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) in 2019.

Sonakshi SLAMS Mukesh Khanna: “Distasteful Statements”
Addressing Mukesh Khanna directly, Sonakshi wrote, “Dear Sir, Mukesh Khanna ji… I recently read a statement you made saying that it’s my father’s fault I did not answer a question about the Ramayana correctly on a show I attended many, many years back.” She noted that another contestant also struggled with the same question but questioned why Khanna keeps singling her out.

Sonakshi further accused the Shaktimaan star of using the incident for publicity at her and her family’s expense. “Stop bringing up the same incident time and again to be back in the news,” she added.
Sonakshi Defends Her Father
Responding to Khanna’s remarks, Sonakshi highlighted the values imparted by her father, Shatrughan Sinha. “The next time you decide to say anything about the values my father has instilled in me, please remember it’s because of those values that I have only said what I said, very respectfully,” she wrote.

Sonakshi reminded Khanna about the lessons of forgiveness taught in the Ramayana itself, adding, “If Lord Ram can forgive Manthara, Kaikeyi, and even Ravan after the great battle, surely you can let go of this extremely small thing.”

In 2019, Sonakshi Sinha appeared on KBC 11, where she was asked about whom Hanuman brought Sanjeevani booti for in the Ramayana. She failed to provide the correct answer, sparking criticism and memes on social media. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Mukesh Khanna recently reignited the debate, blaming her father for her lack of knowledge. He stated, “It’s not Sonakshi’s fault; it’s her father’s fault. Why did you not teach your kids?”

The spelling choice, commonly associated with the Pakistani side of the region, along with the absence of the Indian flag emoji in the tweet, led some social media users to accuse Diljit of having political motives.

Diljit, known for his pride in his Punjabi roots, took to Twitter to clarify his stance, shutting down what he described as baseless conspiracy theories. Sharing a screenshot of the post in question, he wrote: “PANJAB, kisi Ek tweet mein agar PANJAB ke saath India flag mention reh Gaya toh conspiracy. Bengaluru ke tweet mein bhi ek jagah reh Gaya tha mention karna. Agar Punjab ko PANJAB likha toh conspiracy. Diljit Dosanjh’s Tour Amid Controversies
Diljit is currently on his Dil-Luminati India Tour, which has faced its share of controversies. Recently, the Telangana government issued directives barring him from performing songs promoting alcohol, drugs, or violence during his Hyderabad concert. Gujarati cinema is set to welcome Swapnil Joshi as he makes his debut in the industry with a highly anticipated film, slated to release in 2025. Swapnil will surprise audiences with a role that is both unexpected and groundbreaking. The film will also star National Award-Winning Actress Manasi Parekh in the lead role.

This project is being produced by Parthiv Gohil and Manasi Parekh under their banner, Soul Sutra, marking their fourth production after Golkeri, Kutch Express, and Jhamkudi. Hussain’s Peaceful Passing
Zakir Hussain’s sister, Khurshid Aulia, shared that the tabla maestro passed away peacefully after the ventilation machine was turned off, at approximately 4 pm San Francisco time. Hussain’s family described him as leaving behind “an extraordinary legacy cherished by countless music lovers around the globe.”

Zakir Hussain’s contributions to music earned him immense recognition, including four Grammy Awards throughout his career. In addition, he was honored with India’s highest civilian awards: the Padma Shri in 1988, the Padma Bhushan in 2002, and the Padma Vibhushan in 2023.
