Technology has made live easy for us in today’s times, especially with the advent of the internet. However, this has also given rise to online frauds or scammers who loot people by fooling them on some pretext or the other. Among the techniques used, a common one is to use the name of celebrities in order to achieve their evil goal.

Now, McAfee, a firm that provides cyber security products, has come up with the list of top 10 celebrities whose names are most often used by online scammers to trick people. The list has been shared by Marketing Mind on their official Instagram page.

Surprisingly, the first name on the list is that of Orhan Awatramani aka Orry. The youngster has rapidly risen in popularity in the last couple of years after being spotted with big celebrities in almost every big Bollywood party. Interestingly, he has left behind superstars like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.

The second name in the list is that of Diljit Dosanjh, which is also a surprise. The other Bollywood celebrity who features in the top 10 is Deepika Padukone. The list also contains three cricket celebrities in the form of Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli.

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has expressed his shock over the recent murder of Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra MLA and National Congress Party leader. Siddique was tragically shot dead outside his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Bandra, Mumbai, on October 12, 2024. The incident has left both the political and Bollywood communities in disbelief and mourning.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on October 14, Varma reflected on the horrifying nature of the crime, raising several critical questions about the motivations behind it. “A lawyer turned gangster wants to take revenge for a deer’s death by killing a superstar. He orders his gang of 700, which he recruited through Facebook, to first kill a big politician who is a close friend of the star,” he stated..

Varma further elaborated on the alleged circumstances surrounding the perpetrator. He suggested that the individual responsible for the crime is currently under government protection while incarcerated, with operations allegedly being directed from abroad. “The police can’t catch him because he is under the protection of the government in a jail and his spokesman speaks from abroad,” Varma claimed.

Reflecting on the situation, Varma speculated about the potential for a film inspired by these events. He expressed doubt about whether a Bollywood writer could realistically depict such a storyline without facing criticism for its implausibility. “If a Bollywood writer comes up with a story like this they will thrash him for writing the most unbelievable and ridiculous story ever,” he concluded.

Details of Baba Siddiqui’s murder 
The motive behind Siddique’s murder remains unclear, with multiple theories emerging. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility through a Facebook post, citing Siddique’s alleged connections to underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. The post also included a warning directed at those associated with Bollywood actor Salman Khan, suggesting potential repercussions. Notably, earlier in April 2024, an attack on Salman’s residence had been linked to Lawrence Bishnoi, indicating a deeper conflict.

The last rites of Baba Siddique were conducted with full state honours at Bada Qabrastan on October 13. Despite efforts to save him after the shooting, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at Lilavati Hospital.

Triptii Dimri is on a roll. Her supporting role in the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal (2023) made her the heartthrob of the nation. Earlier this year, she was seen in Bad Newz followed by last week’s release, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. She also features in the mega Diwali release, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Triptii Dimri was all set to have her fourth release of 2024, that is, Dhadak 2. But recently, it was reported that the film was pushed to next year. Bollywood Hungama has now found out the date that the makers are eying for Dhadak 2’s theatrical release.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Dhadak 2 was earlier slated to release on November 22. It has been postponed and the producers – Dharma Productions – are looking at releasing the film on February 21, 2025. They feel it’s an ideal release date for their film since the two weeks before are crowded with releases.”

The source, however, added, “A final decision will be taken in a few weeks after which Dhadak 2’s new release will be announced.”

If Dhadak 2 arrives on February 21, it will be released in the birthday week of Triptii Dimri. The actress celebrates her birthday on February 23. Interestingly, the film will also clash with Ajay Devgn-starrer Raid 2. It also stars Vaani Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh.

Besides Triptii Dimri, Dhadak 2 also stars Siddhant Chaturvedi. It is the remake of the 2018 Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal. Interestingly, Dhadak (2018), which launched Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, was the remake of the 2016 Marathi blockbuster Sairat.

During a round-table discussion for The Hollywood Reporter India, Anupama Chopra remarked that Dhadak’s impact was diluted as compared to the original and KJo, in reply said that it won’t be repeated in Dhadak 2. He said, “We haven’t held back at all. It’s as hard-hitting and as solid, without diluting the huge impact of the original.”

After the presence of a donkey named Gadharaj sparked a massive outrage among audiences who questioned the ethics of the reality show makers with PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animal) also penning an open letter to host Salman Khan and filing a complaint against them, the makers have decided to end this stint. The makers of Bigg Boss 18 eliminated the donkey from the Bigg Boss house, followed by the controversy.

An official statement regarding the exit of Gadharaj has been issued on social media wherein the concerned viewers have also expressed gratitude towards PETA for putting up this fight. “We are pleased to inform you that the Bigg Boss team has updated us with the news that they have released the donkey. This success is a direct result of the collection efforts of everyone who supported and joined this cause. Thank you for standing with us and for showing that compassion and action can make a real difference”.

PETA had earlier penned a long note accusing Bigg Boss makers of torturing the animal wherein they believed that apart from confining him within a stable, they also described how they are often frightened by extensive lights and sounds coming from all directions. In the letter addressed towards Salman Khan, they appealed to his compassionate side, requesting him to consider the condition of animals as they requested him to keep all kinds of animals away from the reality show, further elaborating on their health and habitat issues.

In recognition of their actions for animals, actors Riteish Deshmukh, who is vegan, and Jacqueline Fernandez are the latest stars to win the title of Most Beautiful Vegetarian Celebrity from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India.

Using her massive star power to advocate for the protection of all animals, Fernandez has rallied her fans to support PETA India’s work in numerous ways, including the #FreeGajraj campaign following which an elephant who was kept in chains for more than 50 years was rescued. Fernandez has also encouraged people to adopt dogs in need from shelters, eat vegan foods, star in an ad campaign against the use of angora wool, and ask people to avoid horse-drawn carriages. Deshmukh promotes vegan eating and even co-founded a vegan meat company with his wife Genelia. The company, Imagine Meats, has previously won PETA India’s Best Vegan Meat award for its tasty “chicken” nuggets.

“From acting to animal rights activism, Jacqueline Fernandez and Riteish Deshmukh have proven to be real superstars,” says PETA India Vice President of Celebrity and Public Relations Sachin Bangera. “PETA India is delighted to honor them for showing the world that kindness to animals is the most beautiful quality of all.”

For meat, eggs, and dairy, animals are raised in vast warehouses in severe confinement. As PETA India reveals in the video exposé “Glass Walls”, chickens killed for food are often shackled upside down before their throats are slit. Cows and buffaloes are crammed into vehicles in such large numbers that their bones often break before they’re dragged off to the slaughterhouse, and pigs are stabbed in the heart as they scream. On the decks of fishing boats, fish suffocate or are cut open while they’re still alive.

As well as being a compassionate choice, eating more plants slashes the risk of suffering from cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and obesity; helps fight climate catastrophe by reducing greenhouse gas emissions; and can even prevent future pandemics. SARS, swine flu, bird flu, and likely COVID-19 are all linked to confining and killing animals for food.

Past winners of the title (known as the Hottest Vegetarian Celebrity Award until 2020) include Zeenat Aman, Jackie Shroff, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Rajkummar Rao, Alia Bhatt, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Akshay Kumar, Bhumi Pednekar, Shraddha Kapoor, Sonu Sood, Manushi Chhillar, Sunil Chhetri, Anushka Sharma, Kartik Aaryan, Vidyut Jammwal, Shahid Kapoor, Rekha, and Amitabh Bachchan.

Earlier this year, Amazon Prime Video dropped the much-awaited third season of Panchayat. The new season of the show, set in the beautiful village of Phulera, fulfilled all expectations and as expected, it went on to amass considerable huge viewership. It also became a huge talking point on social media and many memes were created, which made it clear that the show has gotten widely accepted. And now, it has come to light that the makers are all set to take the fourth season on floors.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The fourth season of Panchayat is all set to go on floors on October 25. It’ll see the return of all the popular characters of the show – Abhishek Tripathi aka Sachiv ji (Jitendra Kumar), Brij Bhushan Dubey aka Pradhan Pati (Raghubir Yadav), Manju Devi (Neena Gupta), Prahlad (Faisal Malik), Vikas Shukla (Chandan Roy), Rinki (Sanvikaa), Bhushan (Durgesh Kumar), Binod (Ashok Pathak) and Kranti Devi (Sunita Rajwar). Pankaj Jha, who played the devious MLA, will also have an important part. Moreover, Swanand Kirkire, who played the MP in one scene in Season 3, is expected to have a crucial role this time.”

The source continued, “The makers are aware of the gigantic expectations from the Panchayat series. It’s a rare web show which is suitable for the whole family and hence, gets viewership from viewers of all ages. All seasons until now have been satisfactory and the makers have worked hard on the script of Season 4 to ensure that it’s loved by the fans.”

In May 2024, during the release of Panchayat Season 3, director Deepak Kumar Mishra told PTI, “We have started writing season four. For us, generally, there’s no break between two seasons. The third season is over and we have written three to four episodes (of season four) of the show.”

He also added, “So far, we have thought about making seasons four and five. For season four, we have a clear idea, and there is a broader idea for season five.”

Actor Aamir Khan is all set to team up with superstar Rajinikanth after three decades in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s much-anticipated film, Coolie. This collaboration has generated significant excitement in the industry and among fans, marking a reunion of the two actors after their last appearance together in the 1995 film Aatank Hi Aatank.

Aamir Khan’s Special Cameo in Coolie?
For months, rumours were swirling about the possibility of Aamir Khan making a special appearance in Coolie. Now, a report by Deccan Herald stated that the actor will indeed be part of the project, adding his unique touch to Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action-packed Tamil thriller.

A source close to the production revealed, “Yes, Aamir Khan has signed the contract. His role is brief yet impactful, and this addition has brought renewed energy to the team, taking the film to the next level.” The cameo, although short, is expected to create a lasting impression, similar to Aamir’s past roles.
On-Screen Magic: Aamir Khan and Rajinikanth Together
Fans are particularly excited about seeing Aamir Khan and Rajinikanth share the screen once again. The last time the two actors worked together was nearly 30 years ago, and their reunion in Coolie promises to deliver memorable moments. The source added, “His role will be very short yet powerful, just like in Lokesh’s previous films. Theatres are going to erupt with whistles and cheers when Aamir Khan and Rajinikanth’s scenes hit the big screen.”

The shooting of Coolie is primarily scheduled to take place in Vizag. However, the location may be shifted to Chennai depending on Rajinikanth’s health. “If necessary, a set will be built in Chennai, where Aamir and Rajini’s scenes will be filmed,” the source mentioned. Despite these possible changes, production is moving ahead as planned.
The Stellar Cast of Coolie
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie is being produced by Sun Pictures and stars Rajinikanth in the titular role. The ensemble cast includes well-known names such as Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, and Sathyaraj, among others. With Rajinikanth leading and Aamir Khan making a cameo, the film is set to be one of the most talked-about projects of the year.

Producer Dinesh Vijan has reportedly postponed the release of his much-anticipated film Pooja Meri Jaan. The movie, originally slated for a November 2024 release, will now hit theaters in early 2025. This decision is said to be influenced by the upcoming release of Chhaava, a historical drama featuring Vicky Kaushal in the lead.

A Clash of Genres
Pooja Meri Jaan, directed by Navjot Gulati, explores the sensitive issue of stalking, while Chhaava is a biopic about Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Despite the different genres—one dealing with a contemporary social issue and the other being a historical drama—the two films carry significant weight in terms of storytelling. A report by Mid-Day stated that releasing both films in close succession could result in neither project receiving the attention it deserves.

The report quoted a source saying, “It is a special film for Dinesh because it belongs to a genre that his production house hasn’t explored so far. He was looking for the right time to bring the film to cinemas, and has finally slotted it for early 2025.”

Packed 2024 Calendar Leads to Pooja Meri Jaan’s Delay 
Besides Chhaava, the final quarter of 2024 is jam-packed with major releases. November alone will see two Diwali blockbusters—Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Following closely in December, Chhaava is set to premiere on the first Friday, while Varun Dhawan’s Baby John will arrive just in time for Christmas.

“The team wants to do justice to the ambitious biopic, in terms of promotions and buzz,” says a source. With such competition, releasing Pooja Meri Jaan during the same period could hinder its success. The insider added, “They didn’t want such an important message to be lost in the flurry of big-ticket, mainstream releases. Pushing it to next year felt right.”

With Dinesh Vijan now scheduling Pooja Meri Jaan for 2025, he aims to provide the film with ample breathing room. This delay will ensure that both Pooja Meri Jaan and Chhaava get the attention they merit from audiences and critics alike.

Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar, will be released in December 2024 as planned. Meanwhile, Pooja Meri Jaan, starring Huma Qureshi and Mrunal Thakur, promises to take on a critical subject that resonates with modern audiences.

Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has been in the news for various reasons of late. Last week, there was a surprise among trade, industry members and also moviegoers when it was reported that Saregama India, owned by the RP Sanjiv Goenka Group, was in talks to acquire a majority stake in film producer Karan Johar’s company. The report, however, categorically mentioned that the deal had not reached its final stage. Meanwhile, today, October 14, the Economic Times has reported that KJo is in talks with another industry giant.

As per the article, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is in talks to acquire a stake in Dharma Productions. However, the article stated that the size of the stake on the table is not clear. It also quoted a source who said that Karan Johar has been looking to sell a chunk of a stake in Dharma for some time. However, it hasn’t been an easy ride as the past deals have fallen through due to disagreements over valuation.

The Economic Times article also revealed that Dharma Productions is owned 90.7% by Karan Johar and 9.24% by his mother, Hiroo Johar.

If the Dharma Productions-Reliance Industries Limited deal materializes, it’ll strengthen the portfolio of the latter in the entertainment sector big time. At present, RIL has backed Jio Studios, Viacom18 Studios and Colosceum Media. Moreover, Mukesh Ambani-owned RIL also has a 25% minority stake in Ektaa R Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms.

In the past, Bollywood Hungama had also exclusively reported that Karan Johar also had talks with Gautam Adani of Adani to sell a 30% stake in Dharma Productions.

Coming back to Dharma Productions, the production house had a theatrical release a few days ago, Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina. Karan also owns Dharmatic Entertainment, which churns out content for OTT platforms. Last month, they released Ananya Panday-starrer Call Me Bae on Amazon Prime Video. On October 18, they’ll drop the third season of Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives on Netflix. Interestingly, the new season is called Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives.

The All Living Things Environmental Film Festival (ALT EFF) is back with its 2024 edition, scheduled to take place from November 22 to December 8. A total of 72 films will be showcased this year, with 38 making their India premieres. The festival, which has quickly become one of the most anticipated events for environmentally conscious cinema, promises a diverse selection of films highlighting critical environmental issues, ranging from climate change to wildlife conservation.

What makes this year’s edition truly special is ALT EFF’s mission to take these thought-provoking films beyond traditional venues. For the first time, screenings will be held in metro cities and 55 locations in small towns and villages across India over the festival period. This will be in addition to 45 screenings taking place in 14 tier-1 cities.
