In a significant update to the ongoing Salman Khan house firing case, the recent chargesheet has revealed that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi allegedly paid Rs 20 lakh to six individuals to assassinate the Bollywood superstar. The attack, which occurred on April 14, 2024, involved two gunmen on a motorcycle who opened fire at Khan’s sea-facing residence in Galaxy Apartments, Bandra. Fortunately, the actor was unharmed during the incident, though the absence of constables—despite Khan being a ‘Y’ category protectee—has raised serious security concerns.

According to News 18, the Mumbai crime branch’s charge sheet has detailed that Bishnoi’s gang issued a contract worth Rs 20 lakh for the assassination of Salman Khan. The plan unfolded in the early hours of April 14, when gunshots were fired outside Khan’s residence. The investigation into the shooting has led to several arrests, with the authorities working to piece together the full extent of the conspiracy. The attack was reportedly coordinated by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, with Anmol Bishnoi, the gangster’s brother, publicly taking responsibility in a Facebook post.

Non-bailable warrants for key suspects

In a related development, a special court in Mumbai has issued non-bailable warrants for Anmol Bishnoi and Rohit Godera, an alleged member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Both suspects have been on the run since being named in the charge sheet. On July 27, 2024, special judge B.D. Shelke, who oversees cases under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), issued the warrants to apprehend the fugitives and bring them to justice.

Confessions and motives

Among those arrested, Vicky Gupta, 24, and Sagar Pal, 35, have been identified as the individuals who carried out the shooting. Gupta, who was riding the motorcycle during the attack, has confessed to the crime. He stated that financial difficulties motivated his actions, expressing regret for his decision, “I felt I wouldn’t get caught by the police, but got arrested all the same.” His confession has provided crucial insights into the motive behind the attack and the operational aspects of the plot.

According to the recent rumors going around in media with reagrds to Telugu star Sreeleela quiting Varun Dhawan’s upcoming comedy film, directed by David Dhawan and produced by Tips Films. It is also reported that the first schedule of the film has been completed without her.

Clarifying these rumors, Ramesh Taurani, producer at Tips Films, stated, “We have not yet approached anyone for the role. We are still in the process of finalizing the cast. The first schedule has just been completed, and we will make an official announcement once we have locked someone for that role. Until then, we request audiences not to believe any rumors.”

Speaking of the upcoming film, the dynamic father-son duo Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan will reunite for their fourth film together. Titled Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, it also, reportedly, stars Mrunal Thakur. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on October 2, 2025.

As per the reports, production on Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai has already begun in Mumbai with Varun Dhawan sharing the screen with Maniesh Paul and Kubbra Sait. The rest of the star-studded cast is expected to join the shoot in the coming months.

In a recent interview with Mashable, Nora explained that her criticism was directed at the “radical feminism” prevalent in the West and not the feminist movement as a whole. “I would like to clarify that this is not a problem in India. We still uphold tradition and values. But in the West, we have too many people now who encourage the ideology that ‘I can do everything myself’, ‘I can even have kids by myself’. Of course, you can, but why are we encouraging that? Should we not encourage nuclear families?” she asserted.

Nora further elaborated that her perspective was shaped by her personal experiences growing up in a divorced family. “I come from a divorced family. My parents got divorced when I was 10-11. So I have seen the negative effects of being a single mother,” she shared. The actress spoke about the importance of both parents in a child’s life and advocated for the preservation of traditional family structures.

Acknowledging the hurt caused by her previous statements, Nora expressed genuine remorse. “My remark was taken out of context, and if people were upset I would like to genuinely apologise for hurting them, but that was not the intention at all. The actress also raised concerns about the extreme feminist wave in the West, which she believes has led to a societal imbalance. “We have lost balance in the West. The situation is very chaotic,” she added.

Veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan has joined hands with well-known writer Rumy Jafry for his upcoming Bollywood film. The movie is touted to be a comedy of a different nature. The news was shared exclusively with Bollywood Hungama by Jafry himself in a recent interview.

Speaking about his future projects, Jafry said, “I am doing a couple of projects as a writer. I am doing one comedy, but it is very fresh and in tune with today’s times and that too with Priyadarshan. I had never worked with Priyadarshan before; he makes such good comedies. I am also planning to direct another film.” He added that the film hasn’t gone into the casting stage as of now.

Priyadarshan’s last Hindi film was Hungama 2, which was released in 2021. Following this, he made quite a few films down south. Rumy Jafry’s last film Chehre also arrived in 2021. The thriller, which starred Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi in pivotal roles, was also his directorial debut.

During the course of the conversation, Jafry also said that he has reached a stage where he doesn’t feel like signing films in a heap. “I have become quite selective in recent years,” he said. “In our industry, if a writer excels in one genre, he is made to write the same type of films. I won’t name those films, but a lot of comedies have flopped in recent times one after the other because people are not ready to change themselves. And I am not ready to write the same things again. There has to be something new and fresh for me to take. That’s why I am selective as I feel it is important to upgrade yourself.”

He added, “I do something if I feel it’s different. Like, I directed the film Chehre with Amitabh Bachchan. I had never done a thriller, so I felt like making one.”

After making his presence felt in the reality show Bigg Boss, model Asim Riaz recently featured as one of the contestants of the ongoing stunt-based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 14. However, he became the first participant to have been evicted from it owing to his aggressive nature, after he got into a major fight with his fellow contestant Abhishek Kumar. However, in a shocking interview given by co-contestant Shilpa Shinde, the actress claimed that many contestants purposefully targeted him by instigating him to get into the argument.

In an interview with Times Now, Shilpa Shinde revealed details of what went down on the sets of Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 in Romania. She said, “Kuch bhi nahin hua tha. Aap ke sar paani chala jata hai. Down-to-earth hona chahiya. Ek banda ek taraf aur baki ek jhoondh hai, usko bhadkaya gaya (Nothing had happened. But its water under the bridge now. People should be down-to-earth. It can’t be like one person on one side and others have ganged up. He was instigated) as they knew his nature. Sablog success handle nahin kar pate. Sab log galat the, sab log sahi the. Maine use baar baar bola ki woh chup rahe, bahas na kare (Everybody can’t handle success. Everyone was wrong but everyone was right too. I kept requesting him to stay silent and not argue).

Further, the actress also pointed out about how Asim Riaz treated Khatron Ke Khiladi, a stunt based show like Bigg Boss, which is all about manipulation and emotions. “Woh aggressive nahin tha (He was not aggressive), but he is talkative… he wanted to share his experience and the pain he has gone through. Usko zyada bolne ki aadat hai. Usko chup karana padta hai. Uske bolne ka andaaz galat ho sakata hai (He has a habit of being extremely talkative. You have to shut him up. His way of talking can be wrong)”, she maintained.

For the unversed, Asim Riaz got into an argument with Rohit Shetty which aggravated further after he lost the final game. Asim was supposed to perform a task with Niyati Fatnani and Aashish Mehrotra as the trio faced the sword of elimination. While the latter two won the game, Asim lost which made him confront Shetty accusing the team members of manipulating it and asserting that no one can complete it in record time. While Shetty proved him wrong, he continued to misbehave with the host-filmmaker which left Rohit angered. Furthermore, Asim also got into a physical argument with co-contestant Abhishek Kumar that eventually led to his exit from the show.

According to sources, Kartik Aaryan, Anees Bazmee, Bhushan Kumar, and the team are diligently working on an exclusive teaser cut for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

“A teaser keeping the Diwali period in mind is in the works and the makers are trying to get the cut ready by the middle of August. Once the cut is locked with VFX output, they will decide on the date of launch. The intent is to bring it as soon as possible and create hype for the content as the team is confident to entertain the audience during the festive season of Diwali,” the source shared.

High expectations and musical treats

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year, with high expectations from its box office performance. The film’s music is also expected to be a major highlight.
