Filmmaker Siddharth Anand has set the internet on fire with his new social media post. The director-producer had shared a picture with Saif Ali Khan with a caption that read, “Back on set with my first hero! How can nothing change!” The picture put media speculations to rest and confirmed that the filmmaker and actor are set to collaborate with each other after 17 years, which has left the fans excited for the upcoming film. Now, Siddharth has shared a picture of Robbie Grewal and Saif with a caption that seems to be the title of the trio’s project together. As per Anand’s latest Instagram post, the highly anticipated movie will be titled Jewel Thief – The Red Sun Chapter.

Siddharth is producing the project under ‘Marflix Pictures’ along with Producer Mamta Anand, while Robbie Grewal is directing it. This combination of producers, directors and actor has set high expectations for the project, which is being touted as a heist drama. The project will also feature Jaideep Ahlawat in a pivotal role. As per reports, the project will focus on the battle between Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat and will be a direct-to-digital release.

Siddharth Anand, Mamta Anand, Saif Ali Khan and Robbie Grewal, along with the rest of the cast and crew, are currently shooting for the project in Budapest. While the project marks Robbie and Saif’s first collaboration, Khan and Siddharth have previously teamed up for Salaam Namaste and Ta Ra Rum Pum.

The film’s screenplay, penned by Grewal, Anand, and Sambit Mishra, promises a relentless battle of wits set against the backdrop of a high-stakes heist. Industry insiders have been abuzz with speculation ever since news broke that Netflix secured the rights to the film for a reported sum of Rs. 60 crore.

Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan will also be seen in Jr. NTR’s upcoming Telugu film Devara: Part 1, also starring Janhvi Kapoor. It is set for October 2024 release.

Fresh off the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 fervour with Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla’s team Kolkata Knight Rider (KKR) winning the season, Indian cricketers are gearing up for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, 2024. Now, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is facing a selection headache for the head coach position of the Indian men’s cricket team. While sifting through applications received by the May 27 deadline, the board has discovered a significant number – reportedly around 3400 – to be fake. These applications included names of prominent personalities like politicians Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, and even cricketing legends Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, and Virender Sehwag.

According to a report in India Today, this isn’t the first time the BCCI has encountered such an issue. Last year too, they received a similar influx of bogus applications. The ease of access through the online application form, available on the BCCI website, seems to be a contributing factor. Recognizing this, the board is contemplating alternative methods to minimize fake applications in the future.

“Since the application process is in the public domain, fans and many people can easily access the form,” a BCCI source revealed to India Today. “We may think of reducing all these things going forward. We may come up with some new processes of inviting applications which will rule out fake applications.”

With the genuine applications now under scrutiny, one name emerging as a frontrunner is Gautam Gambhir, the mentor of the recently crowned IPL 2024 champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). However, Gambhir faces competition. Earlier, discussions revolved around former Australian cricketers Justin Langer and Ricky Ponting, but both publicly expressed their disinterest in the demanding role.

The current head coach, Rahul Dravid, has decided to step down after the upcoming T20 World Cup in June, citing a desire to spend more time with his family. While Gambhir’s credentials are strong, other potential contenders could emerge. Former Indian cricketers like VVS Laxman, Anil Kumble, and Ravi Shastri might also be considered.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan was in a celebratory mood this past weekend once his team won the IPL 2024 title after a decade. The actor was recently admitted in Gujarat due to heatstroke. On the work front, he plans to begin his next, King, in July 2024.

Prerna Arora, the producer known for backing successful films like Rustom, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Padman and Pari, is all set team up with Oscar winning Baahubali and RRR fame music director and composer MM Keeravani for their upcoming project Hero Heeroine. The film stars Divya Khossla as the heroine and features a star-studded ensemble cast.

The shoot for the much-awaited film’s first schedule starts with Divya Khossla and Soni Razdan in June in Hyderabad. As Divya Khossla is promoting her film Savi, which is set to be released on the May 31. It is a modern adaptation of the mythology character ‘Sati Savitri’.

For Hero Heeroine, Prerna Arora and MM Keeravani are keen to incorporate romantic commercial numbers that will enhance the storytelling and emotional depth of the film. These songs will play a pivotal role in connecting the audience with the characters and their relationships, adding layers of depth and nuance to the narrative.

Abhijeet Bhattacharya began his career as a playback singer in the 80s and from the 90s, he became a very important part of Hindi film music. He crooned highly memorable songs which were featured on some of the biggest of stars. Since the last decade, the number of songs featuring his voice has decreased. Hence, fans of Abhijeet Bhattacharya will be surprised to know that the singer has sung a beautiful track in the most awaited web show of the season, Panchayat Season 3.

The name of the song is ‘Thame Dil Ko’ and is composed by Lalit Pandit, of Jatin-Lalit fame. It is written by Alok Ranjha Jha. The solo romantic number appears at a cute juncture in the show and it adds to the impact. What is also appealing is that ‘Thame Dil Ko’ has a very 90s vibe. It won’t be surprising if those watching the show, at first, assume that the track is from a 90s film!

‘Thame Dil Ko’ marks Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s major comeback to Hindi film music. The last significant song sung by him for a Bollywood movie was ‘Dil Ka Jo Haal Hai’ from the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Besharam(2013). Incidentally, it was also composed by Lalit Pandit and had a 90s feel.

After Besharam, he voiced the recreations of ‘Shehar Ki Ladki’ in Khandaani Shafakhana (2019) and ‘Husn Hai Suhana’ in Coolie No 1 (2020). Abhijeet also sang songs in Mahayoddha Rama (2016), the OTT film Shukranu (2020), Love You Loktantra (2022) and The Purvanchal Files (2023). However, these songs didn’t get noticed. Interestingly, ‘Thame Dil Ko’ was also earlier used in another web show – Flames Season 2 (2019). But thanks to its placement in the highly popular Panchayat Season 3, ‘Thame Dil Ko’ now has the potential to work big time.

Panchayat Season 3 began streaming on Amazon Prime Video on May 28. It takes the story forward after the events of the second season and is set in a sleepy village in North India named Phulera. It stars Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Faisal Malik and Chandan Roy in leading roles.

Actor Junaid Khan, son of superstar Aamir Khan, is making his debut this year. Fresh off the news of his historical drama Maharaj releasing on Netflix on June 14, the actor has reportedly begun filming for his next project, a yet-untitled romantic comedy. Directed by Advait Chandan of Secret Superstar and Laal Singh Chaddha fame, the film will mark Junaid’s foray into the rom-com genre and pair him opposite Khushi Kapoor, daughter of the late actress Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor.

According to a report in Mid-day, sources revealed the shooting began on Monday in Mira Road, Mumbai. While originally scheduled for June, director Chandan apparently moved the start date to accommodate Junaid’s promotional commitments for Maharaj next month.
The film is reported to be a remake of the 2022 Tamil hit Love Today, which starred and was directed by Pradeep Ranganathan. The Hindi adaptation is being produced by Shristi Behl and Phantom Films, the banner responsible for critically acclaimed films like Queen, Masaan, and Udta Punjab. Notably, this marks Phantom Films’ return to production after a hiatus.
The initial shooting schedule involves three weeks in Mumbai, with the Seven Eleven Club banquet hall in Mira Road serving as the primary location for the first few days. The aim is to complete outdoor filming by mid-June before the monsoon season arrives.
Junaid’s father, superstar Aamir Khan, is reported to have been heavily involved in the pre-production of the film. However, he will be heading to Delhi this week to finalize shooting for his own upcoming project, Sitaare Zameen Par.

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira Kapoor have made headlines with their recent acquisition of a luxury apartment in Mumbai’s prestigious Oberoi 360 West project, situated in the upscale Worli area. According to registration documents accessed by IndexTap.com, the transaction was finalized at a staggering Rs. 58.66 crore and registered on May 24, 2024.

The opulent apartment boasts a RERA carpet area of 5,395 square feet and includes three dedicated parking spaces, reflecting the premium amenities associated with the Oberoi 360 West development. This high-rise, constructed by Oberoi Realty, is renowned for its luxurious residences, including 4 BHK, 5 BHK, duplex apartments, and penthouses, all offering stunning sea views.

Interestingly, the Kapoors purchased the apartment from Chandak Realtors Pvt Ltd, who had originally acquired it from D’Mart owner Radhakishan Damani’s family and close associates. “The apartment was bought by Chandak Realty at around ₹65,000 per square foot and has now been sold for over ₹1 lakh per square foot, marking more than a 50% appreciation in just one year,” a real estate consultant told Hindustan Times Digital.

Back in 2018, Shahid Kapoor had acquired another expansive apartment in the same building, measuring 8,281 square feet, for Rs. 55.60 crore. For their latest acquisition, the couple paid a stamp duty of Rs. 1.75 crore.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shahid Kapoor was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. He will next star in Deva with Pooja Hegde.

Hamare Baarah, set against the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh, tackles the pressing issue of population rise in India while delving into the struggles faced by women. Prime Video today announced the worldwide premiere date of the much-anticipated Hindi original series, Call Me Bae. Premiering on September 6, Call Me Bae, is a Dharmatic Entertainment Production with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra as Executive Producers. Salman Khan fans have plenty to look forward to next Eid with the announcement of his action-thriller film, Sikandar. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film is confirmed to release on Eid 2025 and will star Khan alongside Rashmika Mandanna. According to a recent report by journalist and producer Chithra Laksmanan, South Indian actor Sathyaraj, known for his role as Kattappa in Baahubali, will be seen playing the villain in Sikandar. However, an official confirmation from the film’s makers is still awaited.

In a recent interview with the Times of India, director AR Murugadoss hinted at the film’s content. He described Sikandar as a high-octane action film packed with emotions and a powerful social message.  Murugadoss also mentioned the pan-India appeal of the film and teased a new side of Salman Khan for audiences to experience.

Murugadoss revealed that the project with Salman Khan had been discussed five years ago but was put on hold due to unforeseen circumstances. Recently, Salman expressed renewed interest in the project after a fresh narration, leading to a quick green light.

Sikandar is shaping up to be a grand production. Earlier reports from Pinkvilla suggest the film will be shot in Portugal and other European countries alongside locations in India.  With a reported budget of Rs 400 crore, Sikandar is poised to be the most ambitious project for producer Sajid Nadiadwala to date.
