The story of India’s most influential and popular business family – The Tatas will soon be narrated on screen. T-Series Films and Almighty Motion Picture have acquired the AV rights to the story of the Tata family. The story for the screen will be adapted from the book, ‘The Tatas:
How a family built a Business and a Nation’. The book is authored by senior journalist Girish Kuber.

Making the announcement on Tuesday, T-Series shared, “T-Series Films and Almighty Motion Picture are proud to have acquired the AV rights to the story of the legendary family that has been participation in nation-building for 3 generations.”

While the makers have not annouced the format of the story(film or series ), earlier it was reported that the makers were planning on a multi-season series to stream on a leading OTT platform. In an earlier interview with Economic Times, Prabhleen Kaur Sandhu of Almighty Motion Picture had said that the show will have at least three seasons.

“The endeavour is to put a spotlight on how the Tatas family contributed to community building. The series’ focus will not be limited to the raising of a business empire by the Tatas but will underscore their invaluable contribution to building our nation”, Sandhu said.

“The show will not only cover the successful journey of Ratan Tata, former chairman of Tata Sons, but also his ancestors and the entire Parsi family,” Sandhu added.

The much-awaited Red Chillies Entertainment & Eternal Sunshine Productions Darlings is set to premiere on Netflix this year. Produced by Gauri Khan, Alia Bhatt, and Gaurav Verma, the film is the debut full-length feature for director Jasmeet K Reen and stars Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Mathew in lead roles. Darlings also brings together the absolute greats of music- music composer Vishal Bharadwaj and lyricist Gulzar.

Director Jasmeet K Reen said, “I couldn’t have asked for a better feature film debut—working with a pool of versatile and talented actors has been an absolute pleasure. I am delighted that Red Chillies and Eternal Sunshine are taking the film across the globe with Netflix.”

Alia Bhatt, who marks her debut as a producer (Eternal Sunshine) with Darlings said, “Darlings holds a very special place in my heart, it’s my first film as a producer that too with Red Chillies. As Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s ongoing trial takes centerstage, Heard’s witness Kathryn Arnold accidentally revealed key plot points concerning Heard’s role in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, during her testimony.

As noted by Entertainment Weekly, entertainment industry consultant Kathryn Arnold took the stand on Monday to outline the damage Heard’s team claims Depp’s attorney, Adam Waldman, caused to Heard’s career when he accused the actress of orchestrating an “abuse hoax” against Depp in a 2020 interview with the Daily Mail. Part of that damage came in the form of Heard nearly losing her part in Aquaman 2, according to the defense. While she managed to keep the role, Heard previously testified she ended up appearing in a “very pared-down version” of the original story planned for her character Mera.

After saying that Heard’s role was cut down significantly from what it once was, Arnold shared that the movie has Heard’s Mera “in the hospital” quite quickly during the movie’s first act. This kept Mera from being part of a major action sequence that she was originally supposed to have in the movie’s final moments. “I believe that in the first act of the movie, she was injured somehow, or it had something to do with a baby,” Arnold teased in her testimony. As the outlet notes, in the comics, Aquaman and Queen Mera get married and have a son, Arthur Curry, Jr. (nicknamed as Aquababy). Aquaman and Mera haven’t tied the knot yet on the big screen.

While Arnold stressed that she hasn’t “seen the movie yet” and is unable to speak to the specifics of how Mera’s storyline changed, she elaborated that Mera “ends up in the hospital early in this new Aquaman 2 movie and doesn’t really come out until the end to kind of wrap things up.” She further revealed, “All the interactions with Momoa’s character, and certainly the action scenes, were taken out.” Arnold went on to lament that Heard “trained 5 hours a day for several months with the trainer to do this big action sequence” and didn’t learn that her role shrunk until she arrived to set. “So [her role] was radically reduced from what it was in the script and what she even trained for while she was preparing for the movie,” Arnold added.

Amber Heard previously testified that Warner Bros. had “significantly pared down” her role as Mera in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom as a direct result of court cases and negative press linked to them, all of which surround the legal wrangling between the two stars. The former couple is in court for Depp’s $50 million defamation lawsuit over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed that Heard wrote chronicling her experiences as a domestic violence survivor following which, the actress filed her own $100 million countersuit, claiming Depp and his legal team defamed her by calling her allegations false.

Justin Bieber is returning to India with his Justice World Tour in Delhi on 18th October, 2022 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The stadium is large enough to hold the capacity upto 1,00,000 audience for concerts. The pre-sale begins on June 2, 2022.

The last time Indian fans watched him perform live was in 2007, at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium.

Justin returns to the road on the heels of the global #1 album Justice, his eighth album to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200. Bieber made history as the first male solo artist to debut at #1 on both the Billboard 200 album chart and Billboard Hot 100 singles chart with his certified-platinum smash hit “Peaches.”

In an old video interview that has surfaced Akshay Kumar is heard telling film critic Mayank Shekhar that he was rejected during the audition of director Mansoor Khan’s Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar because he was “crap”. Speaking on the incident the Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar director Mansoor Khan told this writer, “What Akshay has said about him being thrown out of Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar surprised me. I am sorry I rejected him. But I am amazed at the career that he has. At the time that we screen-tested him, he was very very wooden. He had a great physique. But that’s it.”

Mansoor feels Akshay could have chosen his words more discreetly. “The way he has spoken about being rejected is very derogatory and condescending. Akshay had even called me after being rejected saying. ‘Let’s work together.’ I never said he was crap.”

Mansoor reveals that even Deepak Tijori who auditioned for the same role that Akshay did, was rejected. “Deepak tested for the role and I told him, ‘Deepak you are a damn good actor. But I am sorry I am going with Milind Soman for his physique.’ Akshay Kumar, I didn’t say anything to. Maybe that upset him. Eventually, when Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar became iconic he must have felt jilted. I don’t blame him.”

While Pratik Gandhi aced the role of Harshad Mehta, the Big Bull of Dalal Street, now the creative and casting teams have found the perfect match to play Telgi, the fruit seller who built an empire by counterfeiting stamp papers. A veteran theatre artist ‘Gagan Dev Riar’ has been roped in to play the role of Abdul Karim Telgi.

The series chronicles the life of Abdul Karim Telgi, a fruit-seller born in Khanapur in Karnataka, and his journey to becoming the mastermind behind one of the most ingenious scams in India. The scam, spread across multiple states, shook the entire country.

Scam 2003 is adapted from the Hindi book ‘Reporter ki Diary’, authored by journalist Sanjay Singh, who broke the scam back in the time. The series will be helmed by the National award-winning director, Hansal Mehta and Tushar Hiranandani. Cast by Mukesh Chhabra, the series is currently filming and will soon stream on SonyLIV.
