Filmmaker Sandeep Singh has made his mark as a successful and acclaimed producer by producing films like Ram-Leela, Mary Kom, Rowdy Rathore, Sarawatichandra, Aligarh, Sarbjit, Bhoomi, and Jhund. After completing more than two decades as a producer now Sandeep Singh is set to make his directorial debut with Safed, an unimaginable love story. He promises to give a sensitive portrayal of a section of society that exists but is rarely seen. The film was shot in world’s oldest city Banaras in just 11 days with the minimal crew of 35 people. Given Sandeep’s extensive experience in the Indian film industry, his directorial debut is bound to generate interest all across the board.

Taking the film internationally, the makers are heading to Cannes to unveil the first look of Safed with the lead actors Abhay Verma and Meera Chopra, along with the director Sandeep Singh, producers, Vinod Bhanushali and Ajay Harinath Singh. Co-producers Vishal Gurnani and Juhi Parekh Mehta will also be a part of the delegation.

Sandeep Singh shared, “I am honoured to begin my directorial venture with a film like ‘Safed’, a story that remains largely untold, a narrative that is underlined with stereotypical attitudes, and the truth that has to be told wholesome. It is humbling and encouraging that I begin with a story that comes from a world that most of us know so little about; a story that pains my heart in a way that gives me happiness.

Vinod Bhanushali, who founded Bhanushali Studios Limited in 2021, holds an experience of around 3 decades in the field of film marketing and music. After leading the marketing and licensing of over 1100 films in Hindi film industry with India’s biggest music label and co-producing films like Tanhaji, Kabir Singh, and many more, Vinod is currently backing real stories closer to his homeland – India. Vinod Bhanushali shared, “Safed is a special film in many ways. I am proud to be associated with it and also glad that I am able to back Sandeep’s vision.

Safed stars actor Abhay Verma and Meera Chopra in the lead. It is written and directed by Sandeep Singh. The film is presented by Bhanushali Studios Limited and Legend Studios, and is produced by Vinod Bhanushali, Ajay Harinath Singh, and Sandeep Singh, and co-produced by Kamlesh Bhanushali, Vishal Gurnani, and Juhi Parekh Mehta.

Sunny Leone turned a year older on Friday and celebrated her 41st birthday on May 13. She had a birthday bash which was attended by her close friends. Sunny’s fans from across the country also celebrated her birthday. A village in Karnataka organised a blood donation camp to celebrate Sunny’s birthday. The actress took to her social media to appreciate the gesture and promised to donate her blood as well.

Sharing a newspaper cutout of the villagers of Kommerahalli village in Karnataka organising a blood donation camp, Sunny wrote, “Omg this is unbelievable. In honor of you I will also go donate my blood!! Thank you so much! You all really make me feel so special! Love you!”

As per reports, the youth in Kommerahalli village erected large cutouts of Leone, cut a cake, burst crackers, distributed food, and conducted a camp that collected 39 units of blood. The youths of the village formed an association in her name to conduct charity events. They revealed that they respect Leone for her work towards helping orphan children. The youths of the village often conduct charity work as part of Sunny Leone Fan’s Association. This is the second time that the association has celebrated her birthday.

The grandest celebration of Indian Cinema, the International Indian Film Academy and Awards, was set to thrill fans with its 22nd edition in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi on May 20 and 21, 2022. But, due to the death of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the event has been postponed.

The president passed away at the age of 73 after battling illness for several years. “The Ministry of Presidential Affairs has mourned to the UAE people, Arab and Islamic nations and the world the death of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan,” the official WAM news agency tweeted.

Since UAE has announced 40 days of mourning, with flags at half-mast from Friday and work has been suspended for the first three days in the public and private sectors, IIFA has decided to postpone the award ceremony. It will now take place in July 2022 and the dates are 14th, 15th and 16th.

Hosted by Salman Khan and Riteish Deshmukh, the highly anticipated event promises to be a mélange of glitz and glamour with stunning performances from Bollywood’s superstars including Varun Dhawan, Ananya Panday among others.

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapor has invested an undisclosed amount in the blockchain-based game MechaFightClub(MFC), launched by online gaming startup Irreverent Labs.

“I’ve grown up playing video games and love everything about them. The art, the storytelling, the creativity that goes into developing a game that is exciting today and also stands the test of time is something that’s always intrigued me,” Sonam Kapoor wrote on Twitter announcing her investment.

“All this drew me to MFC, and what’s more groundbreaking is how MFC is bringing the video gaming industry into the next chapter of Web 3.0. I am elated to be a part of their family,” she added.

“MFC takes place in a world ravaged by long-since abandoned alien technology. Evil corporations monopolized this and enslaved humanity, but a global resistance seized and repurposed them as weapons of mass entertainment,” reads the official description of the game on its website. “Mechabot roosters are smart, and hens are even smarter. Each mechabot is a fully unique individual living on the blockchain with its own digital biology and intelligence. They will even learn, developing their own fighting styles and personalities throughout their lives”.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Sonam will next be seen in the film Blind directed by Shome Makhija and produced by Sujoy Ghosh. On the personal, the actress is expecting her first child with her husband Anand Ahuja. The two had shared the happy news earlier this year.

Television actor Helly Shah makes her Cannes debut for the poster launch of her debut film Kaya Palat on 21st May. The actor will also walk the red carpet for L’Oréal Paris at Cannes film festival. Helly will be seen gracing her presence and will be in the element while walking the red carpet.

The actor will visit Cannes for the poster launch of her feature film Kaya Palat which is a dark thriller genre. The film is directed by Shoaib Nikash Shah.

The film is co-written by Rahat Kazmi and Shoib Nikash Shah with Rahat Kazmi and Tariq Khan playing leads opposite Helly Shah in the gritty thriller. The film is produced by Rahat Kazmi Film Studios.
