Jacques Audiard sets Spanish trans actress Karla Sofia Gascón in Emilia Perez; Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldana in talks to star
The Ranveer Singh-starrer Jayeshbhai Jordaar was finally released on Friday, May 13. The film, whose shoot was wrapped up, way back in February 2020, had a delayed release due to the pandemic. Unlike some recent films, the studio backing this film, Yash Raj Films (YRF), has won applause from audiences and certain sections of the industry for keeping the ticket prices reasonable.

However, most of the exhibitors in the CP (Central Province) territory chose not to play Jayeshbhai Jordaar. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “YRF’s distributor in CP asked for 60% revenue share from single-screen theatres. This was not acceptable to the exhibitors, as Jayeshbhai Jordaar is not an event film. They were willing to play the film at the normal 50% or 52.5% revenue sharing. When YRF refused to negotiate, most of the single screen theatres in the CP territory decided to not screen Jayeshbhai Jordaar.”
The source added, “The exhibitors had the option of playing Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, which did well in Week 1. Also, the Marathi film Dharmaveer has released alongside Jayeshbhai Jordaar and has generated a lot of excitement. Hence, the exhibitors were not at a loss.”
The source continued, “As a result, the single-screen theatres in cities like Nagpur, Raipur, etc aren’t playing Jayeshbhai Jordaar. Out of the 300 plus single screens in this region, only 30 of them are playing the social comedy. Moreover, these 30 theatres agreed to screen the film only after YRF agreed to normal revenue-sharing terms with them.”
The all-India screen count of Jayeshbhai Jordaar is 2250. “This number would have definitely been higher had the single screens in CP played the film.”
Written and directed by Divyang Thakkar, Jayeshbhai Jordaar stars Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah and marks the Bollywood debut of Shalini Pandey.

Netflix’s popular period drama Bridgerton recasts Francesca Bridgerton as Hannah Dodd is set to take over the role from Ruby Stokes for the upcoming third season.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ruby Stokes is exiting the Netflix hit as Francesca Bridgerton, and Hannah Dodd is taking over the role. Stokes will reportedly be on another Netflix title, having secured the lead on Lockwood & Co. Francesca’s presence on the show has been minimal. In Bridgerton season one, she made a couple appearances before going to visit her aunt in Bath. She was then seen in the first three episodes of season two before disappearing, as Stokes was filming Lockwood & Co.
The Netflix and Shondaland series, which is based on Julia Quinn’s romance novels, describe the character as “a bit of a mystery within her chatty, extroverted family. Despite her reserved nature, she goes along to get along when it comes to society affairs, fortified with a dry wit and pragmatism that confound the fickle ton yet seem to draw attention when she least desires it.” Now, the British actress-model has been tapped to play Francesca in Season 3 of the hit Netflix drama.
The first two seasons of the romance epic have followed the order of the novels, first with Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and the Duke (Regé-Jean Page) and then Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate (Simone Ashley). As the report notes, if the Netflix series continues to follow the order of Quinn’s novels, Francesca, the second-youngest sibling, will be the focus of season six, which would be based on the sixth book, When He Was Wicked.
On the work front, Hannah Dodd most recently played the younger version of Sienna Miller’s character Sophie in the Netflix anthology series Anatomy of a Scandal. Her other credits include Find Me in Paris, Lifetime’s Flowers In The Attic: The Origin, Enola Holmes, and Harlots.
