Jiho shares a handwritten note with fans addressing her exit from Oh My Girl; K-pop group to promote with five members
South Korean female group Oh My Girl’s former member Jiho has shared a handwritten letter with her fans following her departure from the pop group.
According to Korean tabloid Soompi, WM Entertainment announced on May 9 that Jiho was parting ways with the agency and Oh My Girl. Soon after, Jiho shared a handwritten letter to the group’s fan café to personally address the matter. “Hello Miracle [Oh My Girl’s fan club], this is Jiho,” she began the letter, as translated by Soompi. “I’m writing this letter as there’s news I have to share with Miracle. I spoke numerous times with our agency about the future and we concluded that moving forward, we would support each other’s paths. In the future, I will be supporting Oh My Girl’s promotions as a member of Miracle and not as a member of Oh My Girl.”
The letter continues, “Over the past seven years, the many conversations we’ve shared, the moments we met every Monday, the love that Miracle gave us, and your support are all truly things that I will never forget. I really want to say thank you to Miracle for creating such miracle-like moments in my life. Thanks to you all, I was able to grow and be happy for the past seven years. I hope that happiness was also conveyed to Miracle. Even though I was poor at expressing myself, whenever I did express myself, I learned so much from Miracle who showed me even more love. As much as I’ve learned from Miracle, I will also become a cool Miracle.”
The letter further read, “Although I can’t yet share details about my future endeavors, I will promise you one thing. No matter what I do in the future, I will work hard and repay you with a good image. Let’s support [Oh My Girl] together in the future! From Jiho”
In March, Oh My Girl returned with their sophomore studio album Real Love, alongside its lead single of the same name. The release had marked the group’s first domestic release in 10 months, since their eighth mini-album ‘Dear OHMYGIRL’, which dropped last May. The group, which debuted in 2015 with six members – Hyojung, Mimi, YooA, Seunghee, Yubin and Arin, celebrated their seventh debut anniversary on April 30.

Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick to now release on Thursday May 26; paid previews on Wednesday May 25; Jurassic World: Dominion’s paid previews on Thursday June 9; advance booking open for both the films
The much-awaited film Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness took a very huge opening, as expected. In a first-of-its-kind trend, the advance booking was thrown open on April 8, nearly 28 days before release. The excitement was tremendous and hence, several shows got sold within a few days, even though the release was nearly a month away. Motivated by the success of this experiment, the studios of the other upcoming Hollywood biggies have now also got tempted.
On May 5, Viacom18 Studios commenced the advance booking for Top Gun: Maverick, starring Tom Cruise. The film will release in May end and hence, tickets were made available to the public nearly 20 days before it hits cinemas.
It has now also come to light that Top Gun: Maverick will now be released earlier than expected. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Earlier, Top Gun: Maverick was supposed to be out in cinemas on Friday, May 27. However, it’ll now have a full-day release from May 26. And that’s not all. It’ll also have paid previews, in IMAX screens, on Wednesday, May 25, post 6:00 pm.”
Meanwhile, the bookings of Jurassic World: Dominion opened on May 8, that is, more than a month before its release. The source revealed, “The bookings of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness had initially started only in PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis properties. In the case of Jurassic World: Dominion, every cinema hall is welcome to start selling tickets.”
The source also said, “Nearly 200 screens in India have begun the advance booking of Jurassic World: Dominion. The number is expected to increase with each passing day.” Jurassic World: Dominion will release in cinemas on June 10 and will have paid previews post 4:00 pm on Thursday, June 9.
An industry expert revealed, “Not every film will have house full shows 3-4 prior to the release, as it happened in the case with Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. Top Gun: Maverick is the sequel to Top Gun (1986), which was released 36 years ago. Hence, it’ll have slow advances. However, many youngsters have seen the original as it’s considered to be a classic. Moreover, it stars Tom Cruise, who has a large fan following in India. So, it won’t be a surprise if Top Gun: Maverick’s advance picks up.”
The industry expert then stated, “There’s a lot of hope from Jurassic World: Dominion. Jurassic World (2015) had managed to earn a huge Rs. 101 crore. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), meanwhile, had a huge weekend and ended up accumulating Rs. 82.60 crore. Jurassic World: Dominion is also targeting a Rs. 100 crore lifetime and it’s very much possible as the series has a huge following, even among the masses and dubbed audiences. The advance should pick up as the release date nears.”

Vivek Agnihotri, Pallavi Joshi, and Darshan Kumar to attend the ‘Sounds Of The Kashmir Files’ musical event at Opera House on May 13
Vivek Agnihotri directed The Kashmir Files surprised all with its box office performance. The film that was released on March 11 alongside Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark at the box office in a week’s time. The film caught on with word-of-mouth publicity, not just in India but outside India as well. Now, two months after the theatrical release of the film, the makers of the film are hosting a musical evening called ‘Sounds of The Kashmir Files’.
The film’s music has been composed by Rohit Sharma who will be conducting the film’s musical evening on May 13 at Opera House in Mumbai. The event will be graced by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and actors Pallavi Joshi and Darshan Kumar. For the film, Rohit Sharma composed the music for the title theme song, ‘Al Jihad’, ‘Brahma Dutt’s Theme’, ‘Azadi’, ‘Krishna’s theme’, ‘Raliv, GaliveYa Chaliv’, and ‘Death of Sharda’. Composer Swapnil Bandodkar composed the song ‘Hum Dekhenge’ from the film.
The Kashmir Files was made on a moderate budget and turned out to be one of the most successful films post-pandemic. While the film that narrated the Kashmiri Pandit exodus was well received in India and several other countries, recently Singapore banned the films in their country for the ‘provocative and one-sided portrayal of Muslims’.

GOT7 to hold fan-concert at SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Seoul ahead of long-awaited full-group comeback
South Korean pop group GOT7 is all set to meet their fans ahead of their forthcoming full-group comeback. The group revealed a teaser poster for their 2022 FAN CON HOMECOMING with I GOT 7 on Monday, announcing their fan meeting.
The announcement comes right after the group confirmed their first comeback since parting ways with longtime agency JYP Entertainment. The fan meeting will be held over two days on May 21 and 22 at the SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Seoul and lead right up to the group’s album release on May 23. Both dates will be available as in-person events, while the May 22 event will be held online as well.

The Homecoming fancon will mark the group’s first fan event, taking place after around a year and five months post the sixth-anniversary fancon, The Winter We Loved, which was held online in December 2020. On May 9, the septet marked the anniversary of their fandom Ahgase (short for “I GOT 7”) by dropping the first teaser announcing the name and date of the release for their much-awaited comeback. The group rebranded and launched new social media accounts to mark their official return.
GOT7 will be returning with a self-titled EP on May 23. The forthcoming mini album GOT7 marks the group’s first album release since parting ways with JYP Entertainment last year, following the release of their fourth studio album Breath of Love : Last Piece in November 2020, along with its pre-release single “Breath” and lead single “Last Piece”. The comeback will mark GOT7’s first music release in about 1 year and 3 months since the release of their 4th digital single “Encore” last February of 2021.
