Alia Bhatt gears up to launch a maternity wear line; recalls wearing flowy dresses to avoid unwanted “belly-touching”

Apart from being an actress, Alia Bhatt is also a producer and an entrepreneur. The actress owns a children’s clothing brand. It seems like the actress is all set to expand her business as she is all set to start her own line of maternity wear.

Yes! On Friday, the Raazi actress took to her verified social media handle and shared a note post to make the announcement of the same. In the three-note post, the actress extensively talked about her vision of starting a maternity clothing brand. Meanwhile, she also elaborated that she got ‘overwhelmed’ while buying her clothes during her pregnancy. 

The mom-to-be actress took her 71.1M Instagram followers on the journey of how she designed her maternity clothes. Interestingly, she wrote that she added elastic to her favourite jeans and designed shirts that she didn’t have to share with Ranbir. While mentioning flowy dresses, Bhatt added that she chose them to avoid ‘any unwanted belly touching’. 

“Two years ago, I started a children’s clothing brand. Everyone asked why I’m doing a kids brand when I don’t have kids. Now, I’m launching my own line of maternity-wear. I don’t think anyone will ask why (smiley face emoticon). But let me tell you anyway. It’s not like I’ve bought maternity clothes before. But when I got down to it, I was overwhelmed”, wrote the SOTY actress in the first note. As soon as she shared the post on her media feed, thousands of her fans showered love while wishing her luck with the new adventure.

For the universe, the Dralings actress announced her pregnancy in June with a photo. The photo captured a smiling Alia looking at the sonography monitor while Ranbir was seen sitting next to her. 

Talking about her professional front, the 29-year-actress was last seen in Ayan Mukerji’s dream project, Brahmastra. She has a bunch of interesting projects in her kitty, including her Hollywood debut, titled Heart Of Stone

Bridgerton actor Charithra Chandran to star in Olivia Hetreed drama series Song Of The Sun God

Bridgerton season two actress Charithra Chandran, who portrays Edwina Sharma, has been roped in to lead Olivia Hetreed’s drama series Song of the Sun God. According to Deadline, Hetreed’s adaptation follows the love, lies and misdemeanours of a Sri Lankan family across three generations in the UK, Australia and Sri Lanka. Chandran will play Leela, a young Australian woman living her life in London, largely disconnected from her own culture and unaware of long-held family secrets.

“But an intensely personal and dangerous journey takes her across three continents as she seeks to find her lost aunt and uncover the shocking reason for her disappearance,” the outlet shared. Chandran will both star in and produce the upcoming drama series based on the 2017 novel from author Shankari Chandran.

The drama series will be duel-produced by indie Synchronicity Films and Australia’s Photoplay Films, with author Chandran working as creative consultant on the project. Synchronicity picked up the project as part of its “drive and passion for adapting powerful and important books for the screen,” Mundell (Synchronicity Films) said.

“Shankari Chandran’s novel is a poignant and deeply moving story of the Sri Lankan conflict seen through the prism of one family,” she said. “With its timely and universal themes, we feel the project will resonate with global audiences.” The movie will be financed by Cineflix Rights, who will also have the first option for exclusive worldwide distribution.

No date has been attached for the release of Song of the Sun God.

Salman Khan’s body double Sagar Pandey passes away due to a sudden heart attack

The body doubles form an important part of a film’s unit. Most actors have taken their services to shoot not just faraway shots but also certain stunts and action scenes. In many cases, they also look like them and are a big draw at events and stage shows. Sagar Pandey was one such person. He was the body double of bodyguard Salman Khan and today, September 30, he suddenly passed away.

Prashant Walde, the famous body double of Shah Rukh Khan, confirmed this news to Bollywood Hungama. He said, “Sagar was working in the gym when he suddenly collapsed. He was immediately taken to Hindu Hruday Samrat Balasaheb Thackerey Trauma Care Municipal Hospital at Jogeshwari East, Mumbai. That’s where he was declared dead.”

Prashant Walde further said, “I am quite shocked. He was perfectly fit and healthy. He was too young to pass away. His age must have been around 45-50 years.”

In an interview in April 2020 to a news channel, Sagar Pandey revealed his plight especially after the country went into a lockdown. He sighed that his work has dried up as film shoots and events had stopped. He revealed that more than the film shoots, he used to earn from stage shows.

In the same video interview, Sagar Pandey also revealed that he was an eligible bachelor, just like Salman Khan. He has five brothers and since he earned the most, he took care of their expenses. He also said that he was originally from Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh and that he had come to Mumbai to become an actor. He decided to become a body double when he failed to get work as an actor.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) was the first film in which he played Salman Khan’s body double. He later worked in several films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Tubelight (2017), Dabangg (2010), Dabangg 2 (2012), Dabangg 3 (2019), etc. In all, Sagar Pandey said that he worked in more than 50 films as the superstar’s duplicate.

Doctor G stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh become brand ambassadors of Liberty Shoes 

Actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh are making headlines for their upcoming film Doctor G. For the unversed, the comedy-drama will mark their first collaboration. However, it seems like the fresh pair will not be limited to the silver screen. Recently, a popular shoe label appointed the duo as brand ambassadors.

In the latest report by Fashion Network, Liberty Shoes has appointed Khurrana and Singh as its new brand ambassadors. As the footwear brand aims to reach young Indians, the brand announced its collaboration with the Doctor G actors in a press release on September 26. The duo will lead a new athleisure footwear campaign. 

“I have grown up wearing Liberty Shoes, and I’m proud to be associated with this legacy brand,” said Khurrana about the association. He further added, “I absolutely loved Leap7X’s collection as they are apt for AM To PM style and comfort. I’m sure this campaign will resonate with everyone.” 

Meanwhile, Sing asserted, “I can totally relate myself with the message of this campaign. Also, I feel that this campaign is going to be thought-provoking for today’s youth.” With Khurrana and Preet Singh’s connection with younger demographics, Liberty Shoes aims to strengthen its online and offline presence. 

Coming back to their film, Doctor G is slated to release on October 14, 2022. The trailer and songs of the film have received a positive response. Directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, it is produced under the banner of Junglee Pictures. The upcoming film will clash with Parineeti Chopra’s Code Name Tiranga, and Sonakshi Sinha-Huma Qureshi starrer Double XL
