Nagarjuna’s massive fan base in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is disappointed by the abbreviated length of his role in Ayan Mukerji’s scifi-mythological Brahmastra. But Nagarjuna says he was very clear in his mind as to why he did the film. “When Ayan narrated the story to me, I was very sure I wanted to do this film no matter what the length of my role. It’s not always about how long you are on screen. In Andha Kanoon Amitji had a guest appearance. But people remember the film only for him. I don’t think anything like Brahmastra has been attempted in Indian cinema before. I just had to be part of it.”

As for the miniature size of his role Nag explains, “Sometimes it is a pleasure to just be part of a film you believe in regardless of the length of the film. I’ve done more than enough films where I am in nearly every frame. Brahmastra was fun to shoot. All my scenes were with Alia and Ranbir, and they are so talented.”

For fans desirous of seeing, more of Nag on screen there is good news. “I am there in full-force in my next release The Ghost. It is an out-and-out action thriller. At this stage of my career I like doing action films. At my age I think I am in good shape,” says Nag with a chuckle.

The trailer of Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra starrer Thank God recently hit YouTube. The said glimpses from the film revealed that it is loosely based on Indian mythology with a comedy twist. However, it seems that its references made to mythological concepts have offended some and now, the film has landed in legal trouble as a UP-based lawyer has accused it of hurting religious sentiments.

Thank God will feature Ajay Devgn in the role of Chitragupt who is expected to be a bookkeeper of human deeds in the afterlife as per Indian mythology. While the trailer features him in a comedy avatar, it seems that certain scenes where he uses jokes and some objectional language have not gone down well with some audiences. Lawyer Himanshu Sharma has registered a complaint in Jaunpur court in Uttar Pradesh accusing the film’s trailer of insulting a Hindu deity like Chitragupt. He has reportedly stated in his complaint that the film not only mocks religion but also misrepresents the character portrayed by Ajay Devgn.

In a statement given to IANS, Himanshu Sharma said, “Chitragupta is regarded as the lord of Karma and keeps a record of a man’s good and bad deeds. Such depiction of Gods can create an unpleasant situation since it hurts religious sentiments.” It is being said that he has also been summoned to record a statement on November 18.

Speaking of the film, Thank God features Sidharth Malhotra in the role of a common man whereas he will be seen reuniting with Aiyaari and Marjaavaan co-star Rakul Preet Singh in the film. It will feature her in the role of his wife, who will also be sporting the avatar of a cop in the film. Directed by Indra Kumar, the film is slated to release during Diwali 2022, which is on October 25.

The season arrived on September 2 on the streaming giant after its popularity with season 1 during the lockdown. Ranveer Singh recently came under the scanner after he showcased his bold side yet again by going nude for a magazine photoshoot. While he received a lot of support and encouragement from fans and colleagues in the industry, some took offense to his photos and even approached the Mumbai police to file a case against the actor. The Mumbai Police registered an FIR against him, followed by which, he was summoned recently to record his statement about the case.

During the same, Ranveer Singh, reportedly alleged that one of the photos from the photoshoot that was posted online was actually morphed but further details on it are not yet revealed. As per ANI reports, in a statement recorded by the actor on August 29 in Mumbai, during his questioning session, the actor asserted that one of the photos was tampered with.

For the uninitiated, Ranveer Singh took to Instagram to share photos of him lying nude on a carpet which was part of a photoshoot for Paper Magazine. He also shared another couple of photos including one where he is seated on the same carpet. Needless to say, the photos created a massive uproar in the media.

A few days after the Instagram post, a Mumbai-based NGO filed a complaint against Ranveer with the Chembur Police in Mumbai, accusing him of hurting women’s sentiments and outraging their modesty. The police authorities, later, registered an FIR against Singh under sections 509, 292, and 294 of the Indian Penal Code along with section 67 A of the Information Technology Act.

Meanwhile, on the film front, Ranveer Singh recently several honours and awards for his performance in the film ’83 based on the iconic win of India’s first World Cup in Cricket. The film featured him in the role of former Indian captain Kapil Dev. The actor also won a SIIMA word for being the Most Loved Actor in South India recently.
