Prakash Jha reveals his opinion about the Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha; says, “They should understand they are making bakwaas”

The current major topic of discussion in Bollywood is not the South vs Bollywood debate but it is about the performance big budget Hindi films. The August releases Raksha Bandhan and Laal Singh Chaddha, were touted to be one of the biggest clashes at the box office but the films seem to have left the audience unimpressed. On the other hand, Pushpa and RRR not only roared at the box office but they are also receiving a great response in terms of OTT. Speaking on this subject, Apaharan filmmaker Prakash Jha placed forth his opinion that Bollywood lacks novelty and it is highly dependent on remakes.

Prakash Jha reveals his opinion about the Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha; says, “They should understand they are making bakwaas”

In an interview with Cinestaan, Prakash Jha termed it a wake-up call for the industry. “They should understand that they are making bakwaas. A film can’t be made only through money, corporates, and paying a high fee to the actors. One needs to write a good story that makes you understand and entertains,” he said. He also spoke about how they need to revamp their strategy and not solely depend on remakes. “They should make stories that are rooted. People from the Hindi industry are speaking in Hindi but what are they making? They are just churning out remakes. If you don’t have a story to tell, stop making films. They should work hard and think original as people have become lethargic,” he shared.

While he also appreciated the hard work that Aamir Khan had put in, in the same breath, he also asserted that the content should have been strong enough for it to be a crowd-puller. “It’s just that people are using social media as a tool of communication. If Dangal, Lagaan tanked (at the box office), then we could have understood that it happened because of the boycott. But you have made a film that didn’t meet with a favourable reception. I am yet to find someone who has said, ‘wow, what a film it was’. I agree you have worked and tried hard but when there is no such factor in your content, you can’t say it didn’t do well because of the boycott,” he concluded.

For the uninitiated, Laal Singh Chaddha was the remake of the Oscar winning Tom Hanks film Forrest Gump, and starred Kareena Kapoor Khan and Aamir Khan in lead roles. The film released alongside Akshay Kumar, Bhumi Pednekar starrer Raksha Bandhan, both of which were released on August 11.

Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives 2: Chunky Panday says, ‘I lose my interest’ when I don’t get discussed,’ when Samir asks why he tolerates people making fun of him

Summary: In one of the episodes of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives 2, Samir Soni is upset at Chunky Pandey for letting his co-stars make fun of him.

As the streaming giant Netflix has released the second season of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, fans of the series have brought out the popcorn once more. While Maheep Kapoor’s revelation of husband Sanjay Kapoor cheating on her grabbed everyone’s attention, Bhavana Pandey’s actor husband Chunky Pandey has appeared with some logic in this season.

If you haven’t seen season 1, in one of the episodes, Chunky had candidly called Bhavana “MILFY Pandey” on camera during a dinner night. Viewers were quick to notice Chunky’s comment, and eventually it became the highlight of the episode. Now, in the second season too, he has attracted eyeballs, but this time for his wise words.

In the fourth episode, Samir Soni asked Chuny, “Why do you let people pull your leg so much? When you have done more work than them, you are senior to them and then they pull your leg and you take it.” Meanwhile, Bhavana could be seen nodding to agree with Samir.

In response to Soni’s concern, Pandey replied, “It’s a very selfish thing within me that causes this. Because I feel I should always be the topic of discussion whether good or bad. And then people love it, because it’s like a punching bag and they go on and on. But what they don’t realize is that they are actually talking about me.”

The Housefull actor further elaborated, “the moment I don’t get discussed, then I lose my interest.” Upon this, Bhavana added, “as his wife, at times I feel really bad. Sometimes when you watch a show or you watch something and you’re like, listen why do you allow them? You know, that is what it is”. Bhavana stood firm on her stand while concluding her opinion as she said, “Most of these people cannot take a joke on themselves”.

The season two of the series started streaming on Netflix from September 2 onwards.
