Debutant director Shubham Yogi’s heart-warming coming-of-age sibling drama Kacchey Limbu starring Radhika Madan, Rajat Barmecha and introducing Ayush Mehra will have a world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF2022).

Kacchey Limbu is a heartwarming sibling drama that tells the story of Aditi, a wilful young girl who is in the race of fulfilling dreams imposed on her by everyone and being at the receiving end each time. A story of courage, determination and discovering herself, Kacchey Limbu is an emotional rollercoaster in which she decides to take matters into her own hands to prove to her family, friends and especially her elder brother that being confused is not necessarily a bad thing. With time, the right decision will find its way to you.

Shubham Yogi, Director, Kacchey Limbu, “I am very excited to embark on my journey as a filmmaker with Kacchey Limbu, a coming-of-age sibling drama. The film is primarily a story of two young, middle-class siblings who have to navigate their family’s conditioning to find their own unique voice. Kacchey Limbu is everyone’s story, and I believe that a story worth telling will always find a way to be told. I was fortunate to find producers – my prime collaborators, Neha Anand and Pranjal Khandhdiya (Mango People Media) and Jio Studios who believed in the story from the get-go and batted for the film on the front foot. With their faith in me and my story, I feel fortunate that I was able to tell the story in the way that I wanted to.

He adds, “Along with my own debut as a director, Kacchey Limbu cast is led by Radhika Madan, Rajat Barmecha and Ayush Mehra. It is a story that will connect with all families, as it touches upon the crossroads of dreams and realities in life. We have aspired to capture sibling love in a way that would strike a chord with everybody. I couldn’t have asked for more than a World Premiere for Kacchey Limbu at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF2022).”

Actress Sushmita Sen will be fronting the biopic whose rights have been acquired by Mansi Bagla of Mini Films and ace photographer Subi Samuel’s Bungalow No 84. The film will be the first ever association of Mini Films and Bungalow No 84, joined by Soham Rockstar Entertainment. The team has signed Sushmita Sen as the lead for this intense and power-packed script. The film prep is on and set to go on floors by the end of this year.

Talking about the same, Mansi Bagla, Mini Films says, “I wanted to make a big announcement after Forensic and this timing is just perfect. This is my birthday gift to myself. Forensic is still making noise, loved by so many, and now I’m here to tell this thrilling story who better than Sushmita Sen to play this role, more details on the biopic coming up soon. The day I met Sushmita, I was spellbound by her aura and I can say it now with all my heart, this film will be a super hit.” 

Subi Samuel, Bungalow No 84 shares, “I met Mansi through a common friend and our passion for cinema and stories has culminated in bringing this film to life. I am excited to begin this new journey with two of the most powerful women I’ve met in the industry by far- Sushmita is a brilliant actress and is apt for the biopic and Mansi whose drive and passion towards filmmaking inspired me to explore it myself.”

The biopic will see Sushmita in multiple shades, in a never seen before avatar. The casting and other aspects of the film are in the pre-production stage and will go on floors by the end of this year. Mini Film’s Forensic has garnered high numbers on the OTT platform, Avitesh Shrivastava starrer Adesh Shrivastava’s biopic is near completion and Bagla has also bagged the rights of a Ruskin Bond story which was widely reported by the media.

After receiving an overwhelming response to the previous two seasons, Zee TV recently launched the 3rd edition of the dance reality show, DID Super Moms. The new season has an exciting panel of judges which include Remo D’Souza, Bhagyashree Dassani and Urmila Matondkar to mentor and guide the talented moms through their journey and help them achieve their dancing dreams. Like every weekend, this weekend’s episodes too will feature special guests and this time around, they are popular faces from one of the channel’s most successful shows. This weekend will see actresses Ankita Lokhande and Usha Nadkarni as special guests for the show as it will be ‘Pavitra Rishta Special Episode’.

It is obvious that all the Super Moms will be seen putting their best foot forward during the shoot. But, it will be Sadhna and choreographer Bhaarat’s delightful performance to the song ‘Yaadein Yaad Aati Hai’ that will leave a mark. After the episode was shot, it was revealed that the duo’s graceful performance was a tribute to the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Not just that, the musical act honoured the struggle and successful journey of Sushant’s life, which left everyone on set in tears.

Ankita Lokhande shared a strong bond with former co-star Sushant Singh Rajput. The actress has time and again spoken about the way his demise had affected her. Undoubtedly, the dance act of Sadhna left her emotional. Speaking about it, she said, “It was an emotional act. The day, Sushant left us, I believe we have all remembered him more. I am very proud of the work he has done. In my opinion, he has put in a lot more effort than anyone else I’ve seen in my entire life.”

She went on to add, “In the beginning, I had no idea what acting was all about. It would not have been possible for me to be what I am today without Sushant. He was my guru. I wish him happiness wherever he is, God bless him.” Ankita Lokhande and Sushant Singh Rajput gained fame after playing roles of Archana and Manav respectively in Pavitra Rishta, whereas Usha Nadkarni played the role of the Sushant’s mother in the show. After the demise of Sushant, Usha had stated that she truly shared a motherly bond with him.

Dance India Dance’s dance reality show franchise, DID Super Moms airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm only on Zee TV.
