After working in the industry for 20 years, Shahid Kapoor is finally gearing up for his first film with ace filmmaker, Anees Bazmee. The actor will be seen in a double role in this out and out comic commercial entertainer, produced by Dil Raju.  The film will feature Rashmika Mandanna in female lead and is among the awaited films from Shahid Kapoor’s line up.

Bollywood Hungama has got to know that Shahid Kapoor has allotted his dates to Anees Bazmee and will soon commence shooting for this comic caper. According to our sources close to the development, Shahid Kapoor will start shooting for Anees Bazmee’s comedy from August 1. “Shahid Kapoor is very excited to do an out and out comedy after a long time and will commence his work on the film from August 1. He has allotted bulk dates to Anees Bazmee from August to December as the team is planning a start to finish schedule,” revealed a trade source to Bollywood Hungama.

Shahid will have two distinct looks in the film and is looking to leave a mark with these new dimensions. “Apart from Shahid and Rashmika, a big ensemble cast will be a part of Anees Bazmee comedy and an announcement shall be made soon. The movie will be released next year and the title will be revealed by July,” the trade source told us further.

Apart from Dil Raju, the movie also has Ekta Kapoor as one of the producers and more details will be unveiled soon. It is said to be a big Pan India comedy from Anees Bazmee and Shahid Kapoor for Dil Raju.

Richa Chadha is set to make her international debut with an upcoming project Ainaa. Although this is not her first international endeavour, as she previously headlined the critically acclaimed Indo-French production Masaan and Love Sonia, which was an indie based out of Hollywood, this current film Ainaa is set in both London and India. Indo-Brit production marks another significant milestone in Richa’s impressive career, as she takes on the lead role alongside British actor William Moseley.

Ainaa was officially launched and announced at the prestigious House of Lords by the makers of the film last evening where R.t Hon. Stuart Andrew, M.P. Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, Department for Culture, Media and Sport announced the film alongside the lead cast, director and producers of the film. Ainaa is being helmed by director Markus Meedt, who makes his feature debut with the project. The film is a social drama about the impact of violence caused by the war on human beings and society at large.

Speaking of this project, Richa said, “I’m excited to be working in a new part of the world, I like to experiment. They have put together an impressive crew of the best talent from India and the UK. It’s truly going to be a collaborative effort to embark on a film that deals with such an important subject. We are currently in London prepping for the film with the shooting expected to commence on June 2nd. I have always strived for a challenging role and this one sure is one of the toughest parts I have taken up”.

Sharing the screen with Chadha is William Moseley, a renowned British actor who gained fame as a child actor in “The Chronicles of Narnia” films. Moseley also made an impactful appearance in the Indian film “Margarita With A Straw,” showcasing his exceptional talent and versatility as an actor. The film is being produced by Big Cat Films UK and the producers are Geeta Bhalla and PJ Singh.

On the other work front, Richa is soon going to be seen in Zee’s Nurse Manjot, the third instalment of the mega-hit comedy franchise Fukrey 3 and is one of the leads in the highly anticipated series, Heeramandi by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Actress Anushka Sharma recently opted for a motorcycle as an option to reach shoot locations amid Mumbai traffic. The actress was seen sitting on the pillion seat while her bodyguard drove the bike. After the photos went viral on social media, netizens pointed out that the actress wasn’t wearing a helmet and so did her bodyguard. As per the Motor Vehicle Act, pillion riders are also expected to wear helmets and are fined for flouting the rules. Now, Mumbai Police has fined her bodyguard.

Now, the Mumbai Traffic Police has issued a challan against Anushka Sharma’s bodyguard Sonu Shaikh and fined him of Rs. 10,500 for riding the bike without a helmet and a license. On Twitter, Mumbai Traffic Police posted, “Challan has been issued under Sec 129/194(D), Sec 5/180 & Sec 3(1)181 MV act to the driver along with an fine of Rs. 10500 & been paid by the offender.”

In recent times, many clips of the Atlee Kumar directorial Jawan have surfaced online in which Shah Rukh Khan was shooting a song with Nayanthara and Deepika Padukone, respectively. Even leaked clips of alleged teaser have also surfaced online. Following a string of leaked content, Delhi High Court on Tuesday ordered social media platforms, Cable TV platforms, rogue websites, direct-to-home services and ‘John Doe’ defendants to take down the leaked content and refrain from committing copyright infringement of Jawan. Now, the Delhi High Court has directed Twitter to provide basic information and other relevant details of the five accounts that have been indulging in the leaking of Jawan photos and videos.

Justice C Hari Shankar on Wednesday disposed of the application filed by Red Chillies Entertainments Private Limited. As per Live Law India, the production house has filed a suit against “various rogue websites and other social media platforms seeking to restrain them from committing any infringement in relation to its copyright in the film.” On Wednesday, the counsel submitted additional details of the accounts that have committed the leaks. In its order, the court said, “Thus court directs the defendant no. 2 (Twitter) to provide information of five accounts by way of an affidavit as an additional document with an advanced copy to the counsel of the plaintiff so that the plaintiff can take appropriate action.”

Previously, Justice C Hari Shankar directed the social media platforms like YouTube, Google, Twitter, Reddit and others to take steps to stop the spread of the copyrighted content of Jawan. Justice Shanker further ordered, “various internet service providers to block access to the websites displaying or making available for viewing or downloading the content of the movie.”

While Atlee Kumar and his team are working on post-production simultaneously, the commercial action entertainer also stars Nayanthara, Yogi Babu, Ridhi Dogra, and Sunil Grover.

Red Chillies Entertainment presents Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead and produced by Gauri Khan. Jawan will be released on September 7, 2023, in five languages making it Shah Rukh Khan’s first pan-India film.

It has been a while now since Karan Johar announced his return to the directorial seat with the Ranveer Singh – Alia Bhatt starrer Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. Produced under his banner Dharma Productions, the film also features veteran performers Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi in prominent roles. In fact, ever since its announcement, the hype around the film has been steadily building. Now Bollywood Hungama has learnt that Karan Johar will be unveiling some new content from the film on his birthday May 25.

Commenting on the same a source told Bollywood Hungama exclusively, “Karan knows the buzz surrounding Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, and the fact that the audience are eagerly awaiting a glimpse of the film. Keeping this in mind he is planning to unveil some new content from the venture on his 51st birthday, May 25.” Ask the source for details and he continues, “It could be anything. So far, only the logo of the film has been revealed, but rest assured whatever Karan decides on releasing, will only heighten the furore around the project.”

Further talking about the promotions of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, the source reveals that an elaborate plan is being conceptualized. “Karan Johar and the team are working hard to ensure that the film appeals to the audience, and are in the midst of brainstorming a rather elaborate promotional campaign. In fact, expect the campaign to be a month long affair that will cover digital, on ground and even social campaigns.” Though the source has revealed a lot, he remains tight lipped about what content the audience can expect on May 25. “As I said it could be anything,” says the source.

As for the film, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is a romantic comedy directed by Karan Johar and written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy. Produced by Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios, the film is slated to release on July 28, 2023.

Arpita Khan, sister of Bollywood actor Salman Khan, has filed a complaint regarding the theft of her diamond-studded gold jewellery, valued at approximately Rs 5 lakh, from her residence in the suburban area of Khar, Mumbai. The swift action by the police led to the arrest of the domestic helper, who is accused for the theft.

The incident occurred on Monday, and the 30-year-old suspect was apprehended the following day in Thane district, which is adjacent to Mumbai. The police are currently investigating the case and gathering further evidence to ensure a thorough investigation.

As per a report by PTI, an official of Khar police station said, “Accused Sandip Hegde decamped with diamond-studded gold jewellery worth around Rs 5 lakh from Arpita Khan’s residence located on 17th Road in Khar. After the incident came to light, Arpita approached the police and lodged a complaint.”

After receiving her complaint, the police initiated an investigation and conducted a thorough examination of the CCTV footage in the vicinity, according to the official statement. The official further added, “With the help of technical and other inputs, the police nabbed the accused on Tuesday from Thane for the alleged theft of the jewellery.”

He further mentioned that a case has been filed against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 381 which pertains to theft by a clerk or servant. The police are currently conducting a detailed investigation into the matter.

The Delhi High Court has directed Twitter to disclose the basic subscriber information, such as e-mails, IP addresses, and phone numbers, of users who are allegedly sharing clips of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film Jawan. This order comes as a result of a lawsuit filed by the film’s producer, Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt Ltd, seeking to block unauthorised broadcasting of the film’s content and clips.

The counsel representing the plaintiff alleged that five accounts on Twitter were sharing infringing material and claimed that those responsible for the leaks had access to the company’s system. In light of this, they requested the disclosure of information regarding the users of these accounts. Upon this, Justice C Hari Shankar ordered, “The court directs defendant no 2 (Twitter) to provide information of the accounts with advance service to the counsel of the plaintiff so that the plaintiff can take appropriate action.”

For the unversed, in April, the court had restrained various rogue websites and internet service providers from copying, recording, displaying, or releasing any stills, songs, audio, and video clips related to Jawan without a proper licence. Additionally, YouTube, Twitter, and Reddit were directed to immediately block and remove any infringing content referred by the production house. The interim order aims to prevent the unauthorised dissemination of copyrighted material and protect the rights of the film’s producer.

It highlights the court’s efforts to curb online piracy and ensure that intellectual property rights are respected in the digital realm. The case weighs the importance of copyright protection in the entertainment industry and the measures taken by the court to enforce these rights. The disclosure of subscriber information by Twitter will assist in identifying and taking appropriate action against those involved in the unauthorised sharing of the film’s content.

The Kerala Story has emerged as a surprise blockbuster at the box office. The shocking content of the film has led to polarized reactions. While many applauded the makers for attempting to throw light on the topic of forced conversion, many felt that it tries to show the Muslim community in a bad light. At the press conference of the film held in Mumbai, director Sudipto Sen was asked about how there’s not a single Muslim character in the film who’s shown positively. The journalist also raised concerns about the walls of the characters being pasted with inflammatory posters.

Sudipto Sen replied, “The film is not about any religion. It is about three girls, and they represent the suffering of thousands of girls. We were not here to do the balancing act, that thoda Hinduon ko accha dikha de, thoda Musalmanon ko accha dikha de. We wanted to tell the story the way it happened. Each and every word being spoken and each and every visual being shown in the film are correct.”

Sudipto Sen continued, “The sinister plan of terrorism has been watched across the world and not just in India. Europe, Australia and America are suffering. But in other countries, the opposition and the ruling party are together against terrorism. Unfortunately, in my country, it is said that terrorism has no religion but when it comes to Kerala, as soon as we start talking about terrorism, immediately people start talking about religion. I am sure you know how terrorists misuse religion. So, I think that we have actually done service to the Islamic religion (as we have educated) people that your religion is being misused. We have also done service to the nation and to these girls.”

Sudipto Sen further said, “Every patriotic Indian should go and see the film to know that we are in danger. The iconography that you see in the film is deliberately used. The radicalization of Kerala has reached dangerous levels.”

Also present at the press conference were producer Vipul Shah and actors Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani and Siddhi Idnani. Moreover, 26 women from Aarsha Vidya Samajam, Kerala also graced the press conference. The makers claimed that they were brainwashed similarly to the characters in The Kerala Story.

Filmmaker Rahi Anil Barve’s supernatural drama Tumbbad garnered positive reviews and earned accolades at the box office as well. The film starred Sohum Shah, who also produced the film, along with Jyoti Malshe, Mohammad Samad, Dhundiraj Prabhakar, Anita Date and Ronjini Chakraborty.

Over the last few years, the talk about Tumbbad’s sequel has been making rounds. But Sohum Shah has now revealed that they don’t wish to stop at the sequel. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, he said, “We really wish to make Tumbbad 2 and 3.”

But he made it clear that the sequel is still in its initial stage. “It is not being made right now,” said Shah. “It is being written. It has been five years since Tumbbad released. We are trying but we haven’t cracked an idea till now. Definitely we would like to make Tumbbad 2. But we don’t wish to make it just because the first film did well. We should feel that the story is of the level of the first film. It should do justice (to the first film). When you receive so much love from people, it becomes your responsibility.”

Tumbbad was an unusual subject told and presented in a different way. Despite that, Shah was sure it would work. “I was expecting this (it to do well) because we knew what we were making was very different and new. That’s why I gave seven years of my life to this film. I said no to a lot of work. We started in 2012 and the film released in 2018. There was always this faith and hope that this will work,” he said.

Off late, Shah has been receiving rave reviews for his work in the recently released web series Dahaad on Amazon Prime Video. Directed by Reema Kagti and Ruckika Oberoi, the show also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Gulshan Devaiah and Vijay Varma in pivotal roles.
