Salman Khan starrer Sikandar packs inflatable theatre with 110 kids in Jammu and Kashmir

Picture this: snow-capped mountains, pristine valleys, and over 100 school kids enjoying a Salman Khan film in an inflatable theatre. That’s exactly what happened on Friday when the megastar’s latest Eid release, Sikandar witnessed a packed screening at Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir.

The special screening of the film, co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, was held at PictureTime Digiplex in Kishtwar, located in the Chenab Valley. Set up in 2023 by PictureTime—a pioneering mobile digital movie theatre company (with three patents to its credit)—the inflatable cinema saw tremendous response to Sikandar, thanks to Khan’s humongous popularity in the region.

110 kids, accompanied by 11 teachers, watched the 11 AM show of the AR Murugadoss directorial— which continuously reverberated with the sound of their hooting and clapping as they cheered for their favorite ‘bhai jaan’. “Salman Khan enjoys an enormous fan following across the country, and Jammu & Kashmir is no exception—his popularity among children here is truly heartwarming. Watching the joy and excitement on the faces of school kids in Kishtwar as they experienced Sikandar was incredibly rewarding,” Sushil Chaudhary, Founder & CEO, Picturetime said.

Chaudhary said the kids were reacting to all the high points in Sikandar, making the screening a huge success as the team delivered on their mission to bring cinema to the “remotest corners of India through our state-of-the-art inflatable digital theatres.”

“We recently saw a similar reaction to Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran, which was inaugurated in Tamil Nadu’s first inflatable digital theatre in Bommidi. Moments like these reaffirm our belief that cinema should be accessible to everyone, regardless of geography. It’s about bridging the entertainment gap, and making the magic of movies available—whether you’re in a metro or a small town nestled in the mountains,” he added.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Sikandar also stars Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar, among others.

Subhash Ghai sells Jogeshwari flats for Rs 11.61 crores: Reports

Veteran Bollywood filmmaker Subhash Ghai has made headlines with a significant real estate transaction, selling two luxurious apartments in Mumbai’s Jogeshwari for a combined Rs 11.61 crores. The properties, located in the upscale Splendor Complex Co-op Housing Society Ltd., were offloaded in March 2025 under his company, Mukta Tele Arts Private Limited. This move by the “Showman of Bollywood” underscores the thriving luxury property market in Mumbai’s western suburbs and highlights Ghai’s strategic approach to his real estate portfolio.

A Lucrative Deal in Jogeshwari’s Splendor Complex
The two apartments, each fetching Rs 5.80 crores, boast a carpet area of 889 sq ft and a built-up area of 1,067 sq ft, reflecting a premium price point in Jogeshwari’s competitive real estate scene. Registered with a stamp duty of Rs 34.83 lakh per unit and a Rs 30,000 registration fee, the transactions signal strong demand for high-end residences in this well-connected locality. Developed by Oberoi Realty, the Splendor Complex offers modern amenities and proximity to Mumbai’s commercial and entertainment hubs, making it a hotspot for affluent buyers.
Why Jogeshwari? Mumbai’s Rising Real Estate Star
Jogeshwari, nestled in Mumbai’s western suburbs, has emerged as a prime residential destination thanks to its seamless connectivity via the Western Express Highway and Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR). With easy access to Andheri’s bustling business districts and Goregaon’s film studios, the area appeals to Bollywood elites like Ghai. The sale of these apartments at over Rs 54,000 per sq ft (built-up area) reflects the suburb’s growing value, driven by infrastructure upgrades and a surge in luxury housing demand in 2025.
Subhash Ghai’s Real Estate Playbook
This isn’t Ghai’s first foray into Mumbai’s property market this year. In February 2025, he and his wife, Mukta Ghai, acquired a sprawling 4BHK apartment in Bandra’s elite 81 Aureate Tower for Rs 24 crores, a purchase that included three parking spaces and a hefty Rs 1.44 crore stamp duty. Just a month prior, in January, the couple sold an Andheri apartment for Rs 12.85 crores, pocketing a 47% profit from their 2016 investment of Rs 8.72 crores.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali plans massive Pan-India release of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal’s Love & War

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming cinematic saga, Love & War, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, is generating buzz not just for its star-studded cast but also for its ambitious release strategy. According to a leading daily, industry insiders have revealed that the makers are eyeing a grand Pan-India release for the film, set to hit theaters on March 20, 2026. With Bhansali’s signature grandeur and a trio of Bollywood heavyweights, Love & War could redefine the Pan-India film landscape—here’s everything we know so far.

A Pan-India Powerhouse in the Making
Reports suggest that Love & War is being crafted as more than just a Bollywood spectacle—it’s poised to conquer audiences across India. “The makers are planning a grand pan-India release for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War,” an independent industry source told a prominent daily. This move aligns with the growing trend of films transcending regional boundaries, a feat already mastered by South Indian blockbusters like Baahubali and RRR. Bhansali seems ready to tap into this lucrative market, leveraging the nationwide appeal of his leading stars.
Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal: The Pan-India Game Changers
The film’s Pan-India ambitions are bolstered by the recent successes of its male leads. “Ranbir and Vicky have recently delivered massive hits with Animal and Chhaava, respectively,” the source noted. Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal (2023) smashed box office records, raking in over Rs 900 crores worldwide, with a strong foothold in Telugu-speaking regions. Similarly, Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava (2024) has cemented his versatility, resonating beyond Hindi markets. “Both actors have made a stronger impact in these markets, with their films seeing significant success in Telugu territories and beyond,” the insider added, hinting at a built-in audience base for Love & War.

Shivaji Satam BREAKS SILENCE on ACP Pradyuman’s rumored exit from CID: “I am not aware”

Veteran actor Shivaji Satam, beloved for his iconic role as ACP Pradyuman in the long-running crime series CID, has finally broken his silence on swirling rumors about his character’s potential departure. Speaking to Mid-Day on Friday, Satam dismissed speculation that the makers plan to kill off his character, stating, “I am not aware.” The statement comes amid growing buzz about a dramatic twist in the show’s second season, currently streaming on Netflix, leaving fans anxious about the future of one of Indian television’s most recognizable figures.

Rumors of ACP Pradyuman’s Death Spark Fan Frenzy
The internet has been abuzz with reports suggesting that ACP Pradyuman, a cornerstone of CID since its debut in 1998, might meet a tragic end in an upcoming episode. Reports claim the storyline involves Barbosa, portrayed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, orchestrating a bomb blast targeting the CID team, with Pradyuman succumbing to the explosion. However, Satam, currently enjoying a well-deserved vacation, quashed these claims with a calm rebuttal: “I am personally not aware if the character will be exiting the show or not.” His response has left fans hopeful yet uncertain, as the actor stated that only Sony, the show’s parent network, can provide official updates.
Shivaji Satam’s Holiday Amid CID Speculation
While speculation mounts, Satam remains unfazed, soaking in a “nice long holiday” far from the chaos of rumors. “I have not been informed about any future shooting for CID,” he added, distancing himself from the production’s alleged plans. This laid-back stance contrasts sharply with the fervor surrounding CID Season 2, which returned in December 2024 after a six-year hiatus, reigniting nostalgia for characters like ACP Pradyuman, Daya (Dayanand Shetty), and Abhijeet (Aditya Srivastava). Satam’s nonchalance has only fueled curiosity—could this be a deliberate sidestep, or is he genuinely in the dark?

Why brand Salman is cracking: Dissecting the fall of a Superstar – and the blueprint for redemption

For more than three decades, Salman Khan was the heartbeat of Bollywood’s single screens and the pulse of Eid releases. His persona transcended cinema – he became a phenomenon. No logic, no critics, no reviews could halt the Salman tsunami when he was at his peak. But the tide seems to be receding.

His recent release, Sikandar, opened to an average response – a far cry from the frenzy his films once generated. This isn’t an isolated case. It’s part of a pattern, a reflection of deeper cracks in brand Salman.

Let’s objectively explore what’s gone wrong – and how he can course-correct before the disconnect becomes irreversible.

1. The Physique problem: From macho to mechanical

Salman’s chiseled body was once a USP, setting him apart in the 2000s when the ‘fitness hero’ wasn’t the norm. His shirtless scenes weren’t just a visual treat – they were aspirational. But in recent years, his physical appearance has become inconsistent. In films like Radhe and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, audiences pointed out the visible flabbiness, awkward movements in dance sequences, and stilted action choreography.

The issue isn’t aging – it’s how he’s trying to hide aging, rather than own it. Look at Mammootty or even Shah Rukh Khan – they’ve aged, yes, but evolved with style, grace, and adapted roles. Salman’s insistence on being a young-something action hero is doing more damage than good. When fitness becomes a burden rather than an asset, the audience notices.

The Fix: Embrace age. Opt for physically grounded characters – dons, cops – not CGI-heavy stunts or bike-flying absurdities. Strength lies in reinvention, not repetition.

2. Stuck in a time capsule: Same look, same style, every time

The biggest criticism Salman faces is this – every film feels like déjà vu. Same hair, same bracelet, same swagger, same tropes. Whether it’s Kick, Tubelight, Race 3, Bharat, or Sikandar – he’s playing “Salman” rather than a character.

Even his wardrobe seems locked in time that scream early 2010s. As cinema moves toward grounded, nuanced portrayals (think Pathaan, Jawan, Animal), Salman’s on-screen styling and persona feel outdated.

The Fix: Hire a new-age stylist and a character coach. Step into a new skin. Think of what Pathaan was to SRK – a reinvention with roots in mass appeal but backed by sharp direction and character depth.

3. The coterie conundrum: Echo chambers don’t make Blockbusters

A recurring issue with Salman’s recent projects is his dependence on a small circle of producers, writers, directors, and technicians—many of them family or long-time loyalists. This has created an echo chamber. Flatterers replace critics. Scripts are greenlit without rigorous scrutiny.

Result? Films like Race 3, Radhe, and KKBKKJ had visibly dated narratives, cringeworthy dialogue, and uninspired direction. The broader film industry has evolved – Salman’s circle hasn’t.

The Fix: Step outside the bubble. Work with filmmakers who will challenge him – imagine a Salman Khan film helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali or Rajkumar Hirani. The possibilities are endless – if the star lets go of control.

4. Outdated definition of mass appeal

There’s a dangerous assumption in Salman’s camp – that mass audiences want simplistic, over-the-top masala. But today’s tier-2 and tier-3 audiences are watching Animal, Jawan, and KGF. They’ve seen Pushpa and Kantara. Their expectations are higher.

The loud soundtracks, slow-mo entries, and one-man-army brawls feel synthetic now. Salman’s brand of outdated massy-ness is beginning to wear thin.

The Fix: Redefine mass appeal. It’s no longer about loudness, but about relatability + scale. Learn from South cinema – marry emotional stakes with heroism.

5. Playing it safe: No risks, no surprises

When was the last time Salman surprised us?

He did with Tere Naam, Phir Milenge, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and Sultan. But in recent years, he’s played safe. No experimentation with genres, tones, or even accents. A star survives when he takes risks – Aamir does with almost every film, and even Ranbir did with Animal.

By avoiding risks, Salman’s recent work lacks buzz. There’s nothing new to tweet about, meme about, or talk about – just recycled tropes.

The Fix: Do a neo-noir. Play a grey character. Explore tragedy, vulnerability, or even satire. Imagine Salman in a Sandeep Reddy Vanga world – it’ll break the internet.

6. The Emotional disconnect: Where’s the heart?

At his peak, Salman owned our emotions – remember Radhe in Tere Naam, Pawan in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, or even the broken wrestler in Sultan? Those characters made us cry, laugh, and root for him.

In recent films, the emotional connect is missing. It’s all surface. A few punchlines, a couple of fight scenes, and an entry song do not make a full-bodied cinematic experience anymore.

The Fix: Pick scripts with an emotional spine. The audience doesn’t mind watching an aging Salman – what they mind is a hollow Salman.

Salman Khan is still a superstar – his name alone generates discussion, clicks, and curiosity. But the longevity of a star is not built on past glories; it’s sustained by present relevance.

To win back the audience – especially Gen Z and the evolving mass base – he must detach from his comfort zone, reinvent not just on screen but off screen, and let creative team – not loyalists – guide his next phase.

The audience isn’t rejecting Salman Khan the person – they’re rejecting Salman Khan the stagnant star. The love is still there. But love needs surprise, growth, and respect. Right now, the audience is waiting for him to catch up.

Will he?

Acclaimed director Atlee is reportedly setting his sights on another cinematic spectacle. According to a report by Telugu Cinema, the filmmaker is in advanced discussions to bring together Telugu superstar Allu Arjun and global icon Priyanka Chopra for his next ambitious project, tentatively referred to as A6. If these talks materialize, this collaboration could mark a significant milestone in Indian cinema.

Atlee’s Winning Streak Continues
Atlee, who made waves with his Bollywood debut Jawan, seems poised to elevate his game further. Reports suggest that his upcoming venture with Allu Arjun, already generating buzz for its scale and vision, might feature Priyanka Chopra in a pivotal role. This comes on the heels of her much-anticipated Telugu debut alongside Mahesh Babu in SS Rajamouli’s forthcoming film, signaling her strong return to Indian cinema after a prolonged stint in Hollywood.

Allu Arjun, riding high on the phenomenal success of Pushpa 2: The Rule, has solidified his status as one of India’s most bankable stars. His pairing with Atlee promises a larger-than-life cinematic experience, with whispers of the actor potentially taking on dual roles—a signature move in Atlee’s directorial playbook, previously seen with Shah Rukh Khan in Jawan and Thalapathy Vijay in films like Mersal and Bigil.

While details about the storyline remain under wraps, speculation is rife that A6 will be a visually grand affair, packed with political intrigue, dramatic twists, and Atlee’s trademark action sequences. Backed by Sun Pictures, the project is rumored to boast one of the highest budgets in Indian film history, reflecting the team’s ambition to deliver a groundbreaking theatrical experience. An official announcement is expected soon, possibly coinciding with Allu Arjun’s birthday on April 8.
