Bollywood actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has officially wrapped up the shooting of her much-anticipated psychological thriller with R Madhavan. The film, directed by AL Vijay, marks a thrilling reunion between Kangana and Madhavan, nearly a decade after their last collaboration in Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015). Announced by Kangana in 2023, the pan-India project is set to release in both Hindi and Tamil, with music composed by GV Prakash Kumar.

In the image, while she looks thrilled to be posing alongside director AL Vijay and other crew members in a pink saree, her drenched avatar has definitely taken us by surprise. Meanwhile, R Madhavan, who has also been a part of several high-profile projects recently, re-shared Kangana’s post, expressing his happiness over completing the shoot. Although he seems to be missing from the pic, he reposed the photo on his story and said, “Congratulations…. so much fun shooting this one once too… lovely unit and adorable team… rock it as usual @kanganaranaut” and concluded it with hugs and thumbs-up emojis. The actor and Kangana have shared an incredible on-screen chemistry in the past, making this reunion even more special for fans.

In a remarkable turn of events in Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, villagers embarked on a treasure hunt after watching the Bollywood film Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal. The film, which portrays historical events, led to widespread rumours that Mughal-era gold coins were buried near Asirgarh Fort. Motivated by these tales, locals began excavating fields with flashlights and metal detectors, hoping to unearth hidden treasures.

The digging commenced around 7 PM and continued until 3 AM, with villagers working tirelessly through the night. This fervour was fueled by longstanding legends associating Asirgarh Fort with hidden riches. However, despite extensive efforts, no substantial evidence or treasures were discovered.

Authorities intervened after videos of the excavation activities went viral on social media. The police issued warnings against unauthorized digging, emphasizing the potential dangers and legal implications of such actions. They urged the public not to be swayed by unfounded rumours and to refrain from engaging in illegal activities.

This incident underscores the profound impact of media on public perception and behaviour. While Chhaava is a work of fiction, its portrayal of Burhanpur’s historical significance seems to have blurred the lines between reality and imagination for some viewers. Experts caution against taking cinematic depictions as historical facts, especially when they lead to actions that defy legal and safety norms.

Asirgarh Fort holds historical importance and is frequently associated with Mughal Emperor Akbar, as well as tales of hidden treasures from the Mughal plunder during their campaigns against the Marathas.

The recent film Chhaava seems to have revived these ancient stories, leading locals to attempt finding the hidden treasure.

Chhaava is an Indian historical action film directed by Laxman Utekar, depicting the life of Sambhaji Maharaj, the second ruler of the Maratha Empire, with Vicky Kaushal playing the lead role.

The movie features scenes implying that Mughal forces plundered treasures from the Marathas and hid them in Asirgarh Fort.

Shanaya Kapoor, the daughter of Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor, has had her acting debut delayed for quite some time. After several setbacks with her films, she is finally set to start her acting career. On Friday, she posted behind-the-scenes footage from the set of Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan in Azerbaijan on Instagram.

In the photos, Shanaya was spotted holding the film’s clapboard, smiling at the camera as she posed with it, showcasing the film’s title, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. She captioned the post, “grateful…” The actress recently completed the Baku shooting schedule for the film.

In the comments section, Maheep Kapoor expressed her love with red heart and evil eye protection emojis. Bhavana Pandey congratulated Shanaya, writing, “congratulations my gorgeous girl.” Navya Naveli Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, and Anjini Dhawan also shared their support by posting red heart emojis.

Shanaya previously worked as an assistant director on the film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, which featured Janhvi Kapoor in the lead role. She is also set to make her acting debut in Vrusabha.

The Telugu-Malayalam film Vrushabha will star actor Mohanlal in the lead role. Salma Agha’s daughter, Zahrah S Khan, and Roshann Meka will also appear in the film. Although it is a bilingual movie, Vrushabha will also be released in Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi. Produced by AVS Studios, First Step Movies, and Balaji Telefilms, the film is scheduled for release on October 16.

Shanaya was originally set to make her Bollywood acting debut with Karan Johar’s Bedhadak, where she was cast to play the role of Nimrit. The film also featured Lakshya and Gurfateh Pirzada in lead roles. However, there has been no update on the film’s shoot since last year.

Actress Neetu Chandra recently submitted a petition regarding the use of vulgar and explicit songs in Bollywood. The case is now set to be heard on March 28, 2025. On Friday, a hearing took place before a bench led by Acting Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, Ashutosh Kumar. The court requested the central government to clarify its position on the issue. It was noted that the case seemed to be a public interest litigation, which also highlighted concerns about the use of derogatory language and abusive remarks towards women in Bhojpuri songs.

In the Public Interest Litigation (PIL), the petitioner claims that the song “Maniac” by Yo Yo Honey Singh, is filled with vulgar content. The song is said to depict women in an inappropriate manner, commercializing them by presenting them as objects for consumption. It further argues that women are portrayed as mere sex symbols in the song.

The use of double entendre in the lyrics of the songs amplifies their vulgarity. This negatively impacts children, women, and society as a whole. Additionally, the inclusion of Bhojpuri language terms paints women in a very poor and degrading light.

At present, there are no regulations restricting vulgar songs. The actress filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Patna High Court, alleging that Honey Singh’s song “Maniac” promotes vulgarity and sexualizes women. The PIL also names other collaborators involved in the song, including lyricist Leo Grewal and Bhojpuri singers Ragini Vishwakarma and Arjun Ajanabi.

The plea stated that the fundamental right to freedom of speech and expression is guaranteed by the Constitution of India, but it also has its limitations. It calls for legal action against those who violate these limits and suggests that they should face appropriate consequences, with strict enforcement of rules.

On Instagram, music director Pritam Chakraborty has reacted to the ongoing plagiarism accusations against Jennie, by commenting that such coincidences can occur and that no one is deliberately copying in a series of notes. Taking to the platform, he posted, “Rani and Jennie are names that rhyme, so a similar flow in one phrase doesn’t make it a copy. In music, minor similarities are bound to happen—whether through rhymes, phrasing, or even within the same genre.” He continued defending her and added, “Instead of focusing on tiny details, it’s important to see the bigger picture. In today’s interconnected world, where artists share the same platforms, no one is deliberately trying to copy someone else’s work. Creating a song takes immense effort, and if an artist truly resonates with an idea, they can simply collaborate.”

“Music is about creativity, unique artistic perspective, influence, and sometimes pure coincidence—especially when artists exist on the same creative wavelength. Rather than tearing artists down, celebrating their work makes far more sense,” he shared in the concluding slide as he also wished her ‘good luck’ for the new album before signing off.

Salman Khan is among the most celebrated actors of Indian Cinema, having delivered some of the most iconic blockbusters over his 30-year-plus career. Come Eid 2025, the superstar is gearing up for the release of Sajid Nadiadwala produced Sikandar and directed by AR Murugadoss. Bollywood Hungama has an exclusive inside scoop on the financials of Sikandar.

According to industry grape wines, Sikandar has been made on a budget of Rs. 180 crores, which includes directorial fees of AR Murugadoss and acting fees of all talents except for Salman Khan. The makers have kept Rs. 20 crores aside for print and publicity, taking the overall cost of production to Rs. 200 crores. Given the powerful collaboration of Salman and Sajid, the satellite, digital, and music players have given a premium deal to Sikandar as the film has fetched approx. Rs. 150 crores from the three nontheatrical mediums.

Leading from the front is Digital Revenue of Rs. 85 crore, which could hit the Rs. 100 crore mark depending on the box office performance. The satellite has fetched Rs. 40 crores, whereas music rights have been sold for Rs. 20 crores which includes a promotional mix. Salman will take home the digital revenues as his acting fees, which means he could take home a cheque of Rs. 100 crores. This is among the biggest upfront pay cheques for an actor in today’s time, when most of the heroes are asked to reduce their fees. The non-theatrical deal is also strong for a masala entertainer.

Sikandar’s initial budget was supposed to be Rs. 400 crores including Salman’s remuneration, but the international and outdoor schedules of the film were cancelled due to security issues. The same resulted in tweaking the script and a dip in the budget by about Rs. 100 crores.

The theatrical rights have been acquired by Pen Marudhar and the distributor has already paid an advance to producer Sajid Nadiadwala. At the moment, Sikandar looks like a safe venture if it hits the Rs. 200 crore mark in India and USD 10 million internationally as that would also make up for Salman’s acting fees and still be a profitable venture for producer Sajid Nadiadwala.

The incident, which occurred on Friday, has sparked a conversation about road safety and the accountability of delivery personnel working for food delivery platforms.

In a tweet, Sophie wrote, “Hey @Swiggy @SwiggyCares one of your riders has hit my car badly and run away at 1.15pm right here on my road in khar west. It’s completely his fault and it’s absolutely disgusting that he just ran off!! I’m a regular Swiggy customer but is this what your guys do on the road??!!” The strongly worded message tagged both Swiggy and its customer care handle, SwiggyCares, calling attention to the incident and questioning the company’s oversight of its riders.

In response to the tweet, Swiggy replied, “Hello Sophie, we sincerely regret this incident and understand how distressing it must be. Safety and accountability are of utmost importance to us.” Now, neither the actress nor the online food ordering and delivery company has shared an update on the matter.

There have been conflicting reports on the shooting schedule of Siddharth Anand’s King starring Shah Rukh Khan in the eponymous role and his daughter Suhana Khan as the vulnerable girl he protects from a high-risk situation.

However, when this writer touched base with Siddharth Anand, he very clearly told that the shooting of King begins in May 2025.

Contrary to reports, the shooting has not been postponed. The schedules are all in place from months ago, as per the time-spaces provided by Khan and the director.

While much is not known about King, this writer could reveal that that Shah Rukh and Suhana do not play father and daughter. Contrarily, they play an assassin and potential victim whom he protects from harm. After the first schedule in May, King will be about 30 percent done.
