Netflix India’s upcoming crime thriller Mandala Murders has reportedly returned to the set for additional filming, months after completing its principal photography. The series, led by Vaani Kapoor and backed by Yash Raj Films, was initially wrapped up early last year. However, recent developments indicate that director Gopi Puthran and his team have resumed work to enhance specific portions of the show.

According to industry sources, the Mandala Murders team has been filming in various locations across Mumbai, including Madh Island, for the past week. The decision to return to the set comes after a detailed review of the footage in the editing room, where it was felt that certain sequences could be further refined. The intention, sources claim, is to elevate the crime thriller’s tension and intensity, ensuring a gripping narrative for viewers.

A report by Mid-Day quoted a source saying, “The Yash Raj series, which sees Vaani’s character investigating a series of murders, has been a massive undertaking with its action-heavy sequences and layered storytelling. When the show reached the edit table this year, the makers and the editing team felt that certain portions needed to be fine-tuned to enhance the crime thriller’s tension and intensity. So, a call was taken to rework those scenes and add some sequences.”

The latest round of filming reportedly involves crucial scenes that tie together the show’s intricate plot. With Mandala Murders marking Vaani Kapoor’s debut in long-format storytelling, expectations are high. The show also features actors Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Jameel Khan, and Surveen Chawla in key roles.

While sources suggest that these additional shoots are primarily aimed at fine-tuning the narrative, there is no official confirmation on whether these are extensive reshoots or minor adjustments. The final phase of filming is expected to conclude within a week, after which the project will move forward toward completion.

On Sunday, Kangana Ranaut penned a series of notes on her Instagram story where she called out ‘films’ promoting ‘divorces’ without naming any. However, internet and audiences were quick to realize that the actress has shared her two cents over the ongoing debate on Mrs. wherein Sanya Malhotra portrays a frustrated housewife, who loses her cool, after she gets married into a misogynist household. While many Indian wives have showcased their support towards the film and calling out such ‘patriarchal’ norms and attitudes, Kangana believes that such films ‘corrupt’ people’s thoughts on marriage.

“Growing up, I never saw a woman who didn’t command her household, ordered everyone when to eat when to sleep and when to go out, asked her husband about every penny that he spent and he obligated. Only conflicts were his boys outings and frequent drinking evenings with friends. Whenever papa wanted to eat out with us she scolded us all because cooking for us was her joy. This way, she could control many things including the hygiene/ the nutrition of the food. Elderly folks worked as nannies to her kids and emotional support system. Women of the house dadi, mumma, chachi are our ultimate queens and we hope to be like them. Of course there can be case of devaluing women but let’s stop generalizing Indian joint families and demonizing elderly people. Also, let’s stop comparing women of the house with paid labour,” her first note on her Instagram story read.

The second one commented on marriage as the actress wrote, “Please understand marriages are not for attention seeking or validation, it is for the best interest of those who are vulnerable, it is essentially for the elderly and the newborns, both are helpless, that is what shashtras say, our parents did every thing for us and their elders but never questioned anything, they simply did. Too many Bollywood love stories have distorted the ideas of marriages, marriages should be how it has always been in this country, it always had a purpose and the purpose was Dharma which essentially means duty. That’s it, do your duty and move on, life is too short and fast, if you try to get too much validation or footage you will end up alone with your therapist”.

“Shashtras says there is no joy in other human being, there is no joy in success, wealth, marriage/in being single or in any other worldly pleasure, they never said these things can satisfy a human being, true joy lies in being united with paramaatma, if you seek joy look for it in the right place, rest every where else do your duty don’t try to extract joy, trust me it’s not even there but by limited perception let’s not dismantle social institutions like marriages, our biggest strengths our joint families, let’s not endorse divorces, let’s not encourage younger generations to abandon older parents, or not have babies. We as a nation must be rooted in our ancient wisdom to be able to reach our future goals”, the concluding note stated.

However, internet did not take this kindly and decided to lash out at the actress and her hypocrisy. “Why don’t she get married,have kids and take care of her parents,cook n not eat out…set an example…and fulfill her dharma…” asked one of the reddit users, and another one added, “She is just scared that another curly hair girl will usurp the throne. She did the same to Tapsee and now Sanya.”

Speaking of Mrs., the film is a remake of the Malayalam film The Great Indian Kitchen, starring Sanya Malhotra in the lead and the film released on OTT sparking much debate over the duties of a wife.

Known as one of the biggest franchises across languages, Drishyam has wooed audiences in Malayalam and Hindi languages. After two successful instalments of the mystery-thriller in both, now it seems that both makers are planning to take it forward with a third instalment in the pipeline. While the Malayalam version of Drishyam 3 was announced much earlier, marking the return of Mohanlal as George Kutty in the Jeethu Joseph directorial, now we hear that Ajay Devgn too will be making a comeback as Vijay Salgaonkar in the Abhishek Pathak directorial.

If recent reports are to be believed, the film is already in its initial stages, and it is being said that Ajay Devgn has also approved of the same, asserting to kick off the project, once he wraps up his other work commitments. According to a Pinkvilla report, a source confirmed the details of Drishyam 3, adding, “Ajay was committed to doing some other film in the July / August window, but now, the actor has prioritized Drishyam 3 over the other options. A couple of weeks back, Abhishek Pathak and the writers went and gave a narration of Drishyam 3 to Ajay, and the actor was bowled over with the twists and turns in the screenplay. He is excited and all set to return again as Vijay Salgaonkar”.

Further the source added that Ajay Devgn has a hectic schedule already planned which not only includes De De Pyaar De 2 but also projects like Dhamaal 4 and Ranger. “Ajay is booked till the end of 2025 with DDPD 2, Dhamaal 4, Ranger and Drishyam 3. He is super confident of all the films in is line up and is making an attempt to serve films from diverse genres (even in the franchise space) to the cinema going audience,” the source shared.

Interestingly, this announcement comes after Mohanlal shared on social media on Thursday about Drishyam 3 in Malayalam being confirmed. The Malayalam superstar insisted that the film is in its initial stages with the script in place. However, considering the hectic schedule of Devgn which seems to be packed, it seems that the Malayalam version may hit theatres prior to the Hindi one yet again, following the footsteps of the previous two instalments.

Nitesh Tiwari’s magnum opus Ramayana is being shot in India. Headlined by Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles, Ramayana remains one of the highly anticipated projects. As we all know, Ranbir and Sai have shot some parts of the film in Mumbai. And now, Yash who is also a producer for the film has begun shooting for his part of Ravana in the city.

Yash starts shooting for Ramayana
As per the latest reports, Yash has landed in Mumbai and has already begun shooting for Ramayana – Part 1. A source informed a leading portal that Yash started filming his portions for Ramayana yesterday (February 21) after two days of costume trials. The shooting portion will be focused on war sequences. The team will shoot some of the crucial war scenes at Aksa Beach in Mumbai. Later, the makers will move to a studio in Dahisar for further shooting.

The source informed the portal, “The war portions are being mounted on a grand scale, with the action choreography designed to reflect Ravana’s strategic prowess. It will be a combination of green screen shots and those shot on the ground and involve heavy VFX work. This set piece doesn’t require Ranbir’s presence as it’s not the Ram-Ravana face-off. Other key actors have joined Yash for this leg.”

Talking about Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, it will be released in two parts. The first part will be released on Diwali 2026, while the second installment will be out on Diwali 2027. Ramayana also features Lara Dutta, Sunny Deol, Indira Krishna and others in pivotal roles. Stay tuned for more updates!

Director, choreographer, host are the many hats donned by Farah Khan, who is currently hosting the cooking reality show Celebrity MasterChef. However, her fun and witty sense of humor has landed her in trouble as Vikash Fhatak, who goes by the name of Hindustan Bhau, has taken offence to one of the comments made by Khan about Holi and has registered a complaint against her at Khar Police Station.

It has been reported that Vikash has filed a complaint against Farah Khan for hurting religious sentiments through his lawyer Advocate Ali Kashaf Khan Deshmukh, as per current reports. For the unversed, the issue fueled up when Farah Khan referred to Holi (festival of colours) as the ‘festival of chapris’ which did not go down well with Fhatak. Hence, the latter decided to take legal action against Khan and sought the help of Mumbai police. My client states that this comment made by Farah Khan has insulted the religious sentiments of Hindus. The use of the term ‘Chhapris’ to describe a sacred festival is highly inappropriate and has the potential to cause communal tension,” the lawyer reportedly told NDTV. If these reports are to be believed the case against Khan has filed under multiple sections like 196, 299, 302, and 353 under the Indian Penal Code.

In the excerpt shared in this report, it has been revealed that through this, the complainant is seeking justice under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and has requested the esteemed office to initiate legal action against Khan for her irresponsible and inflammatory statements. Meanwhile, a response is awaited from Farah Khan’s legal team.

Speaking of the show, Celebrity MasterChef currently airs of Sony Entertainment Television and features a culinary showdown between popular celebs from television industry like Gaurav Khanna, Tejasswi Prakash, Dipika Kakar, among others with Farah Khan as the host and chefs Vikas Khanna and Ranveer Brar as the judges.

Akshay Kumar is loved in comic roles and this year, he’ll be seen in multiple fun-filled films. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “As we all know that Housefull 5 is set on a cruise ship. The film is basically a murder mystery. A murder takes place on the ship and all the actors present in the film are suspects. Two of the actors play cops and while they try to find who the murderer is, the makers promise a lot of laughter and madness.”

Recently, pictures of Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff posing in police uniform from Housefull 5 sets were out and it’s sure to give rise to speculations on whether these two veteran actors are playing the role of the investigators.

Interestingly, the idea of a murder taking place on a boat was seen recently in two Hollywood films – Death On The Nile (2022) and Murder Mystery (2019). The source, however, assured, “Just like Death On The Nile and Murder Mystery are different from each other, so is Housefull 5. The makers have added a lot of desi-style entertainment. Moreover, with Sajid Nadiadwala at the helm of affairs, he has taken every care to ensure that Housefull 5 turns out to be an original and one-of-its-kind comedy flick of Indian cinema.”

Housefull 5 is directed by Tarun Mansukhani of Dostana (2008) fame and releases on Bakri Eid, on June 6, 2025.
