After rumours of Diljit Dosanjh and Vedang Raina being roped in for an Imtiaz Ali directorial started doing the rounds, now the latest update on that front is that the filmmaker is keen on casting Sharvari as the leading lady. After the stupendous success of Munjya and much love she received for her action-packed role in Vedaa, Sharvari is busy with another highly-anticipated project Alpha. Meanwhile, if this buzz is true, the actress is expected to have another intriguing role in her kitty. 

Speaking of the Imtiaz Ali film, it is expected to be an intense romantic drama. Although details of the same are kept under wraps, a source confirmed Imtiaz’s interest in casting Sharvari in a Pinkvilla report. “Imtiaz wanted to cast someone who is a talented actor and felt Sharvari is best for the part. The industry feels Sharvari has the potential to make it big from her generation and she tick-marked the bucket list of Imtiaz Ali to be a part of his next directorial”, the source said. 

Talking further about the film and also touching upon the character that Sharvari will be seen playing, the source added, “The tale has multiple character arcs, and Sharvari will be seen sharing the screen space with Vedang in this soul-touching romantic film. It’s a different take on romance from everything done by Imtiaz to date, and the pre-production work has already begun”. It is being said that the yet-to-be-titled film is a period love story that is set to go on floors in April. 

Meanwhile, Imtiaz has always showcased his love for Diljit Dosanjh with whom he collaborated for Amar Singh Chamkila and received rave reviews. On the other hand, Vedang, who made his film debut with The Archies and later a theatrical debut with Jigra, will be working with the Rockstar filmmaker for the first time.

Bollywood Hungama was the first one to reveal that the teaser of Bhool Chuk Maaf will be attached with the big release of the week, Chhaava. The teaser is all set to be out tomorrow, February 14, and it has now come to light that the film will be out in less than two months in cinemas.

Bhool Chuk Maaf will be released on April 10, as mentioned in the teaser. This means that it’ll clash with Jaat, starring Sunny Deol.

Bhool Chuk Maaf stars Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi and like Chhaava, it is backed by Maddock Films. The film rests on a unique concept and the 1.23 minute long teaser gives an idea about it. It is bound to catch eyeballs. The recreation of a popular Hindi song of the late 2000s further adds to its appeal.

Jaat, meanwhile, is an action packed entertainer and Sunny’s first film after the monstrous blockbuster Gadar 2 (2023).

As per reports, Akshay Kumar’s Kesari Chapter 2 will be out on April 18 while the much awaited Salman Khan Eid release, Sikandar, will arrive in cinemas in the last week of March. Hence, expect a mix of big and interesting films this summer.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is currently filming the sequel to Raat Akeli Hai in Lucknow, where he will once again take on his role from the first film. The crime thriller, which premiered on Netflix in 2020, followed Siddiqui as a cop investigating a high-profile murder case. His character’s return suggests a continuation of the narrative, possibly exploring new layers of mystery.

A source close to the actor revealed, “Nawazuddin Siddiqui is currently shooting for Raat Akeli Hai 2 in Lucknow, where he will once again reprise his pivotal role.”

Siddiqui’s performance in the original Raat Akeli Hai was well received. Recently, he was seen celebrating Republic Day on the sets of Raat Akeli Hai 2. Despite his busy schedule, he took a moment to mark the occasion with the cast and crew.

Siddiqui will next be seen in Maddock Films’ Thamma, an upcoming project that adds to his slate of varied roles. While details about the film remain under wraps, it is expected to showcase him in yet another distinctive character.

Bollywood superstar Ayushmann Khurrana is all set to be the only celebrity to perform at the opening ceremony of the Women’s Premier League 2025 (WPL) on February 14, informed a source.

WPL kicks off with the defending champions – Royal Challengers Bengaluru going head-to-head with Gujarat Giants in the opening match on Friday, February 14.

“Audiences across the world and in the Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara where the opening ceremony will take place are all set to witness an unforgettable performance by Ayushmann Khurrana!” a source said.

The source added, “Ayushmann’s special song-and-dance act is bound to set the mood for the opening ceremony and will get fans in the perfect start to WPL, a tournament that has become a major sensation in the world of cricket.”

On the work front, Ayushmann will next be seen in the eagerly awaited Thama. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced under Dinesh Vijan’s banner Maddock Studios, the movie is about a vampire. The film is a part of Maddock’s horror comedy universe after Stree, Bhediya and Munjya. Interestingly, Thama will see Ayushmann share screen with his brother Aparshakti Khurana.

Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey, producers of the long-running TV show Udaariyaan, recently spoke to Pinkvilla for the Behind The Success segment. They shared their journey into production, early struggles, and the challenges they faced. The couple revealed that they lost ₹70 lakh while setting up their production house.

Sargun Mehta recalled that she and Ravi Dubey wrote Udaariyaan without any prior experience. However, Ravi gave her full credit for the effort.

Speaking about a financial setback, Sargun shared, “Udaariyaan ke waqt we emptied our accounts. And humara jab set baan raha tha, kisine fraud kiya 70 lakhs. I remember mein set se bahar nikli and Ravi was at shoot for Matsya Kaand.”

She added, “I had a huge fight with the art director, and my security was holding me only because I was so angry at them. And humara show on air jaane wala tha 15 din mein. And it looked like a blank floor.”

Sargun recalled breaking down in the car, questioning whether becoming producers was the right decision or if they had taken on too much responsibility. However, Ravi remained calm and supportive. She shared, “Ravi was being calm and said, ‘Gayi na? Nazar utar gayii, aa jayega kaam karo. Dobara kama lenge.’ Those 4-5 months was a nightmare.”

For those unaware, Udaariyaan featured Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, Ankit Gupta, Abhishek Kumar, and Isha Malviya, among others.

Veteran actor Anupam Kher announced on Thursday that he will be sharing screen space with Prabhas, whom he called the ‘Bahubali of Indian cinema,’ for his 544th film, which remains untitled.

Anupam shared the news on Instagram with a picture of himself hugging Prabhas. He captioned, “ANNOUNCEMENT: Delighted to announce my 544th untitled film with the #Bahubali of #IndianCinema, the one and only @actorprabhas!”

Anupam Kher revealed that the film is directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, known for Sita Ramam, and produced by Mythri Movie Makers. He added, “The film is directed by the very talented #HanuRaghavapidi!And produced by wonderful team of producers of @mythriofficial! My very dear friend and brilliant @sudeepchatterjee.isc is the #Dop!” Kamaal ki kahaani hai aur kya chahiye life main doston!”

Anupam Kher recently brought out the actor in OYO Founder Ritesh Agarwal by making him enact a scene. He shared a video where he gave Agarwal a few lines to perform. In the clip, Anupam is heard saying that if the character had money, he would have been like Agarwal.

After eleven takes and acting tips from Anupam Kher, Ritesh Agarwal finally nailed the scene.

What can happen at a gas station? A lot, as the teaser of acclaimed filmmaker Natesh Hegde’s Indian drama Vagachipani (Tiger’s Pond) glimpses everything that is waiting to explode. The makers of the Anurag Kashyap-backed crime drama launched their first visual unit and poster ahead of the film’s world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival‘s Forum strand on February 15.

Kashyap, known for globally acclaimed titles like Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), Sacred Games (2018), and Kennedy, has produced the film along with Ranjan Singh and Singapore-based producer Jeremy Chua.

According to the makers, Vagachipani follows the story of a cutthroat businessman of feudal heritage, who sets out to manipulate a local election but his designs run up against the defiance of a street-smart, outcast villager. “It is such an honest and thrilling story,” Kashyap says about the Kannada-language drama.

“When I got a chance to onboard its journey, it was a very simple choice. Natesh’s storytelling is so effortless and fluid, that it just transports you into the world where it’s happening. We are so happy that the film is premiering at Berlinale and hope that it’s liked as much globally thereafter,” the filmmaker-producer added.

Hegde, whose acclaimed 2021 drama Pedro was in the New Currents competition at the Busan International Film Festival in 2021 and Vagachipani participated in the festival’s Asian Project Market in 2022, said it is an “emotional moment” for him and his village, who made the film possible.

“Reportedly it’s the first ever Kannada film to be invited by Berlinale. Suddenly I feel like the film became an individual entity and has begun its journey. I’m thankful to Anurag Kashyap for his love, Jeremy Chua for standing by in this long journey and Ranjan for being the support system.

“Without Rishab Shetty’s support, this film wouldn’t have gone to the floors. I would also like to thank my cast Dileesh Pothan, Achyut Kumar, Sumitra, and my Appa, Gopal Hegde, who have given wonderful performances. I hope the world discovers them soon,” the filmmaker added.

Co-producer Ranjan Singh added that it was an honour to collaborate with Hegde, who he called a “passionate filmmaker”. “We are so happy to join him on Vagachipani’s showcasing journey as it begins from Berlinale. We are confident that the film will resonate with audiences across the world,” Singh said.

Billed as a dark, lyrical crime drama with “rapturous textures and treacherous depths,” Vagachipani stars Dileesh Pothan, Achyut Kumar, Natesh, Gopal Hegde, Sumitra, Bindu Raxidi, Jahanghir MS and Nagaraj Hegde.
