The music launch of Chhaava was held in style at the iconic Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai and was attended by Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, director Laxman Utekar, producer Dinesh Vijan and music maestro A R Rahman. A R Rahman and his team performed on all the songs of the film and moreover, the interaction that he had with Vicky in between was also a major highlight of the evening.

At a later point in the show, Vicky Kaushal briefly interviewed A R Rahman. The actor began by saying, “Somedays back, I met him for the first time. I rarely have a fanboy moment. But when I met him, after a long time, I asked somebody for a picture. He was quite gracious and kind.”

A R Rahman was in a rare fun mood. He joked, “We took 50 pictures!” Vicky added to it, “Yes, because neither of us were happy with our double chins!”

Vicky Kaushal then asked the first question, “Do you know what are emojis?” A R Rahman gave a deep answer to it, “It indicates laziness. When you can’t think of a word, you select an emoji and send it across!”

The actor asked the music maestro to describe his music in three emojis. While answering, Rahman referred to the Ranveer Allahabadia controversy, raising a lot of laughs. Rahman quipped, “One would be the one with mouth closed. In the past week, we saw what all happened when the mouth opened!” When asked about the other two emojis, he said, “Even the other two would be the same.”

Vicky Kaushal, at this point, told the attendees, “I once asked him about his favourite instrument. His reply made me realize why he’s the A R Rahman. He said, ‘The voice’!” He continued with his question, “If you compose the soundtrack about your life, what would be its title?” A R Rahman took a long pause and then said, “Samarpan!”

Finally, A R Rahman was asked by Vicky Kaushal, “What’s your playlist? Because our playlist has our songs!” He smiled and answered, “When I am working, I don’t listen to anything. I go home, shut down everything and sleep. But when I am travelling, it has to be classical music. I also listen to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan or Kumar Gandharva’s songs.”

Vicky Kaushal joked, “I want to take that playlist just to know how it feels to relax like A R Rahman.” Rahman, however, replied, “Or you can just listen to the radio!”

Chhaava releases in cinemas on February 14.

Actor Sikandar Kher is all set to collaborate once again with his longtime friends Huma Qureshi and Saqib Saleem in their upcoming production, Baby Do Die Do. Ajay Devgn has been roped in to provide a voiceover for Chhaava, the upcoming historical drama led by Vicky Kaushal. Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, the film is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and is set for a Valentine’s Day 2025 release. According to a report by Pinkvilla, Devgn has already completed dubbing for his portions.

The report stated that Ajay Devgn’s powerful voice and impactful dialogue delivery made him the ideal choice for the narration. “Ajay Devgn is among the very few actors in Indian cinema who can captivate audiences with just his voice. Given his previous role in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, which depicted the story of another Maratha warrior, Devgn was more than willing to lend his voice to Chhaava.

Rajkumar Santoshi’s Andaz Apna Apna, featuring Salman Khan and Aamir Khan as two ditsy dosts Amar and Prem, has over the years acquired a cult status. Buoyed by the retro-success of Sanam Teri Kasam, Santoshi’s laugh riot is now returning to movie theatres in April. The film’s producers Vinay Pictures, helmed by Namrata, Priti and Amod Sinha, producers and children of Vinay Kumar Sinha, who had originally produced the film, are completely committed to bringing the film to the Indian audience on the big screen.

They said, “We want to re-release the film on a grand scale. We have restored and remastered the whole film in 4K and Dolby 5.1 Sound. It’s our tribute to our father who stood against all odds to make this film, and we are tremendously proud of this legacy.”

Speaking exclusively to this writer, Priti Sinha said, “It was my father’s dream during his lifetime to re-release Andaz Apna Apna. It is finally happening in a completely re-mastered form. I wish we had preserved the 45 minutes of edited footage. Our director Rajkumar Santoshi is completely committed to the project. We are hoping that Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor would come forward to promote and market this film. I am sure Andaz Apna Apna is as important for us as it is for them.”

Indian actress, model, and reality show star Gauahar Khan has purchased three properties worth a total of Rs. 10.13 crores in Versova, Mumbai, according to property registration documents reviewed by Square Yards on the website of the Inspector General of Registration (IGR). All three apartments are part of the same residential project. While one transaction was registered solely in Khan’s name, the other two apartments were purchased along with her husband, Zaid Darbar. All transactions were registered in February 2025.

As per the IGR property registration documents reviewed by Square Yards, all three properties were purchased in Shiv Kutir Co-operative Housing Society Limited in Versova. In the purchase transaction registered solely under Gauahar Khan’s name, she bought an apartment for Rs. 2.80 crores. The carpet area was 1,104.75 sq. ft. and the built-up area was 1,326.11 sq. ft. The agreement also included one car parking space. The transaction incurred a stamp duty of Rs. 13.98 lakh and a registration charge of Rs. 30,000.

In another transaction, Gauhar Khan and Zaid Darbar jointly purchased two apartments in the same project, as per Square Yards’ analysis of IGR property registration records. The total cost of both apartments was Rs. 7.33 crore. The total carpet area was 2,393 sq. ft. and the total built-up area was 2,872.56 sq. ft. The agreement included a total of two car parking spaces. The transaction incurred a stamp duty of Rs. 43.97 lakh and a registration charge of Rs. 30,000.

For the unversed, Versova, located in Mumbai’s western suburbs, is a well-connected residential micro-market with access to key commercial and entertainment hubs.

As for Gauahar Khan, she started her career as a model and appeared in several music videos including the highly popular ‘Hawa Mein Udati Jaaye’ by Bombay Vikings. Known for featuring in films and reality shows, Gauahar married musician Ismail Darbar’s son Zaid Darbar in 2020 amid the pandemic and the couple became parents to a baby boy in 2023. On the work front, she is currently busy with the web-show Lovely Lolla co-starring Isha Malviya. She also has Fauji 2 in the pipeline.
