After the grand success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, fans are excited to know more about the lineup of Kartik Aaryan films for 2025. Among them is the highly anticipated drama announced by Anurag Basu and T-Series, which continues to be referred to as Aashiqui 3. The film which was announced with much fanfare a few years ago, have been in the pipeline for quite some time now. Now, sparking excitement about this project, Anurag has revealed that the film will go on floors within the first quarter, this year.

Readers would be aware that Kartik Aaryan will be seen as the quintessential romantic hero in this entertainer that is expected to explore a new shade of love. Recently, filmmaker Anurag Basu shared his excitement to collaborate with Aaryan for the first time but refrained from discussing any other detail related to the film. The filmmaker revealed his plans of taking the film on floors and confirmed that it is currently in the initial stages of pre-production.  Basu was quoted telling ANI, “We have not started shooting yet. We will start the shoot next month.”

As for the leading lady, it was reported that Triptii Dimri have been finalized to play the female lead in this project, marking her second collaboration with Kartik after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. However, soon, speculations started surfacing that the actress has been replaced due to her bold image after Animal success. But, Anurag Basu, later, asserted that the actress will be a part of the film. Ever since then, there has been no update on that front.

On the other hand, the film has also been facing challenges owing to being referred to as Aashiqui 3. The Bhatts, who originally own the title and have been a part of the last two instalments of the franchise, revealed that they have not green lit the project and hence, have been dealing with T-Series for a change in the title.

In the last 2 decades, watching movies has become an expensive affair. Many have protested over this trend as cinema has always been one of the most affordable means of entertainment but to no avail. However, in the coming week, viewers will get a chance to watch the new releases at a cheaper price. Bollywood Hungama has learned that the distributors of Badass Ravi Kumar and Loveyapa have asked cinema halls across the country to keep the rates not more than Rs. 150.

A trade source Bollywood Hungama, “AA Films, the distributors of Badass Ravi Kumar, have sent a mail instructing the theatres that the tickets should be priced at flat Rs. 150 for the weekend, that is from February 7 to 9. The mail also states that the price of Rs. 150 should be inclusive of taxes.”

The source continued, “Zee Studios, which is releasing Loveyapa, meanwhile has told theatres to set ticket rates between Rs. 99 and Rs. 150, inclusive of GST, for regular seats. Unlike AA Films, they have told theatres to continue with the rates for the whole week.”

The source added, “That’s not all. They have also specifically said that for non-prime cinemas or the ones in the interiors, the ticket price should be closer to Rs. 99 and for premium cinemas, the rates can go up to a maximum of Rs. 149. However, for cinemas in Gujarat and Goa, the tickets should not be made available for a price less than Rs. 149.”

It now remains to be seen if the theatres, specifically national chains, will adhere to this demand. The bookings of Badass Ravi Kumar have started in Mumbai. Except for their Bhandup property, Cinepolis has not followed this directive for their other cinemas in the Maximum City. The exhibition sources, however, have confirmed that most of the cinemas will opt for this price strategy.

An industry insider commented, “Both Badass Ravi Kumar and Loveyapa cater to the youth. They’ll be motivated to watch these films in cinemas if they are available for a cheaper price. Hence, this move can benefit. Last year, Laapataa Ladies and Munjya also played in cinemas with a price of Rs. 150 from the second week and it worked wonders.”

While Badass Ravi Kumar stars Himesh Reshammiya, Loveyapa features Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor in leading roles.

A few days are left for the release of Loveyapa, which marks the theatrical debut for Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan and Boney Kapoor and Sridevi’s daughter Khushi Kapoor. Bollywood Hungama spoke to its director Advait Chandan about the film and a lot more. Advait has a great sense of humour which came to the fore during this interaction.

4 days are left for Loveyapa’s release. What is going on in your mind right now?
You know, last night, I had a dream that I went to take my exam but ended up going to the wrong exam centre! Toh exam ke pehle jo feeling aati hai na, woh chal rahi hai abhi. No matter how much you study, you always feel the jitters before the examination.

You have a young, fresh star cast. How did they come on board?
Firstly, even I am very young. My birth date is falsely mentioned on Google. In fact, I am younger than Junaid and Khushi!

On a serious note, I got this project on a platter. Madhu Mantena had the rights (of the Tamil original film Love Today) and he had already approached Junaid and Khushi. My problem was that I was not sure of Junaid and Khushi’s casting. I had never met Khushi before while I was unsure if Junaid would be the right fit for the role. But we spent some time together, did rehearsals and readings. Slowly, I started feeling confident about them.

Before you came on board, what was your bond like with Junaid, especially since you have worked with his father for almost two decades?
We didn’t have much of a bond. I shot 20 minutes of Laal Singh Chaddha (2022) with him as an experiment. That’s how we connected. On Loveyapa, we connected even more. Iss film kepehle mera Junaid ke saath gehra rishta nahin tha. I was Aamir sir’s manager and was looking after his work. Here, we worked together. Rishta ab bana hai hamara.

How was it working with them?
It was great. They came on time and learned their lines thoroughly. They also agreed to all my instructions. Junaid is very different from his character Gucci. He had to work very hard to find the Gucci inside him. Today, when I look back, there could have been no better Gucci or even Baani for that matter.

Is there a possibility that Aamir Khan has a cameo in Loveyapa?
He does. He’s there for two shots. When you watch the film, you’ll definitely see him.

Often, we see that filmmakers don’t use the real name of apps in films. Instead, they create their own apps with an interface similar to WhatsApp, Gmail, Facebook etc. In the original film, Love Today, this wasn’t done. In this regard, what can we expect in Loveyapa? In one shot in the trailer, we do hear the mention of Tinder…
At places, I have used the real names of the apps and, in some places, I haven’t. This was due to legal issues. Secondly, when I say Tinder, you immediately understand what it stands for and what the impact will be if a girlfriend catches her partner using it. But I haven’t opted for WhatsApp and Instagram’s interface. This is because the look of these apps keeps updating. If I decide to show WhatsApp the way it looks right now, my film might seem dated in the near future. But if I come up with a suggestive interface of a messaging and social media app, it’ll look fresh even after 4-5 years as it’s not copied from any app. I faced this issue with Secret Superstar (2017). That’s why, I did a little differently here.

Loveyapa clashes with Himesh Reshammiya’s Badass Ravi Kumar. Your thoughts?
Maza aayega yaar! At the end of the day, people should head to the cinemas. If Badass Ravi Kumar works, I’ll also benefit. If Jawan and Pathan succeed, our film also has better chances. I want more films to succeed in cinemas and that the habit of going to cinemas shouldn’t diminish. Whether they come for Loveyapa or Badass Ravi Kumar or Chhava or Deva, they should come to cinemas and that’s what matters. Period.

All your films have arrived with a clash. Laal Singh Chaddha was released with Raksha Bandhan (2022) while Secret Superstar clashed with Golmaal Again (2017)…
Yes, and it’s a production and distribution call. I don’t think about it. My job is to make a good film.

The Himesh Reshammiya starrer Badass Ravi Kumar is all set to release in cinemas this Friday and there’s an expectation that it might turn out to be a sleeper success. The trailer of the film dropped on January 5 and ever since, there have been no promotional events or interviews undertaken by the film’s team. Yet, it has managed to create a buzz due to its trailer and songs. In this special feature, Bollywood Hungama will throw light on the censor details of the film.

Badass Ravi Kumar was passed by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on January 29. However, the Examining Committee asked for several modifications. To begin with, the alcohol brand name was blurred wherever it was shown in the film. The middle finger visuals were similarly blurred.

Badass Ravi Kumar has close-up sensual visuals of ‘bikini wearing woman’ and these were replaced. The EC also asked the makers to replace cleavage visuals and modify breast close up shots. That’s not all. The makers were asked to replace sensual visuals of a man’s hand moving on a woman’s thigh and another sensual visuals of a man’s hand moving on a woman’s buttock. A breast close up shot was asked to be replaced and modified.

A violent scene of a man being cut with a wood cutter machine was modified. It remains to be seen if it’s the same shot that was depicted in the trailer. Lastly, the word ‘bitch’ was muted in audio and even removed from the subtitles.

Once these changes were made, Badass Ravi Kumar was passed with a UA 16+ certificate. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 141.44 minutes. In other words, its run time is 2 hours, 21 minutes and 44 seconds.

Besides Himesh Reshammiya, Badass Ravi Kumar also stars Kirti Kulhari, Sunny Leone, Prabhudheva, Sanjay Mishra and others. Produced by Himesh Reshammiya Melodies and directed by Keith Gomes, it releases in cinemas on February 7.

Fans of the iconic comedy Hera Pheri (2000) have reason to celebrate as Gulshan Grover confirms his return as the menacing Kabira in Hera Pheri 3. The actor, known for his iconic line “Kabira speaking,” will reunite with Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty under the direction of Priyadarshan. The film, which has been in high demand since the release of its sequel in 2006, is set to bring back the beloved characters with fresh twists.

For the unversed, in the original Hera Pheri, Kabira was a crime lord whose mistaken call to Paresh Rawal’s Baburao set off a series of hilarious events. Grover’s brief appearance in Phir Hera Pheri (2006) left fans wanting more, and now, after 19 years, he is ready to reprise the role. “Yes, Kabira returns,” Grover confirmed in an exclusive conversation with Mid-Day, adding, “I am super excited about doing Hera Pheri 3. I have met producer Firoze Nadiadwala multiple times and heard the role.”
A New Look for Kabira

While details about the plot remain under wraps, Grover hinted at a fresh take on his character. “I cannot say much at this stage. All I can say is that Kabira will have negative as well as positive shades to him,” he revealed. The return of Grover adds to the excitement of seeing the original trio—Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty—back in action. Additionally, recent hints from actor Tabu about joining the cast have further fueled speculation about the film’s ensemble.

Apart from Hera Pheri 3, Grover has a busy slate ahead. The actor, who was recently seen in Indian 2 (2024), is gearing up for the release of Love in Vietnam, Nagraj Manjule’s Matka King, and a Karan Johar-backed action comedy starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan. Reflecting on his career, Grover said, “I believe an actor, who has created a brand, has to be careful about what he takes up in his later years. My dear friend Anil Kapoor has set a good example for this.”

In a major legal move, the Delhi High Court has issued notices to Google, BollywoodTime, and other online platforms following an application filed by Aaradhya Bachchan, the young daughter of Bollywood stars Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The application seeks a summary judgment against misleading media reports that have spread false information about the star kid.

The court, led by Justice Mini Pushkarna, conducted a brief hearing where it was revealed that several defendants—referred to as “vitiators and uploaders”—have failed to appear in the case, effectively forfeiting their right to defend. The matter has been adjourned, with the next hearing set for March 17. This legal action highlights the Bachchan family’s continued efforts to combat the circulation of defamatory content targeting Aaradhya, a minor in the public spotlight. The upcoming hearing will be crucial in determining the legal avenues available to safeguard the privacy and reputation of children who find themselves at the centre of media scrutiny.

Although let us remind you that this is not the first time where the star kid has become the focus of attention. In the past, strict action was taken against YouTubers for flooding the platform with videos targeting the young girl’s physical and mental health. As the court intervened and ordered the platform to delist over 20 videos, it also asked the platform to share identity details of the perpetrators who created and uploaded these videos. Along with that, the court warned along with insisting that the children should be given the equal treatment of honor and respect, irrespective of their starry status.

For the unversed, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan became parents to Aaradhya Bachchan in 2011, four years after their marriage in 2007. The star kid is also the granddaughter of megastar Amitabh Bachchan and veteran actress Jaya Bachchan.

With Koi Mil Gaya – Krrish being one of the most successful franchises of Bollywood, fans of superstar Hrithik Roshan are eagerly waiting to see what the next part holds in store for them. Even though, Krrish 4 has been announced, there hasn’t much update or progress in terms of the other announcements including star cast. Recently, Rakesh Roshan, who has been busy with the promotions of their docu-series The Roshans, opened up about the few challenges that the superhero -sci-fi drama has been facing including a low budget.

In an interaction with Galatta Plus, as the veteran actor-filmmaker was asked about the current status of Krrish 4, Rakesh Roshan replied, “I known people have been waiting for a long time now. But somehow, we have been unable to get the budget right. The scale of the movie is quite massive this time. If I try to reduce the scale, the movie just seems like a common film. Moreover, the world has become small now. These days, kids have been exposed to several superhero films. Even if the smallest error will be caught by them and it will get criticized. So we have to be very very careful”.

He further added on how Indians don’t have the kind of extensive budgets that international superhero dramas have. “We cannot make movies of that level. We cannot afford that much costs. Our budget doesn’t allow us. If their total budget for such films is Rs. 1000, then we have to make the same movie in just Rs. 4. Due to such financial constraints, we as movie makers have to focus on making better stories. Currently, we are working towards one such story. Although I do assure that there will definitely be high-octane sequences – may be there will only be 2 or 3 instead 10 – but it will surely be a part of the film!

For the unversed, Krrish is a superhero franchise which features Hrithik Roshan in the dual role of scientist Dr. Rohit Mehra and Krishna Mehra aka Krrish. The film also stars Priyanka Chopra as Krrish’s wife Priya Mehra, along with a host of other characters.
