Vicky Kaushal reveals ‘intimate’ moments with Shah Rukh Khan in Dunki: “Unke baaho mein main marr bhi gaya”

Vicky Kaushal shared his experience of working with Shah Rukh Khan in Dunki. He humorously spoke about his ‘intimate’ scenes with SRK in Rajkumar Hirani’s film and expressed that the project helped him achieve several dreams.

In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Vicky said, “Iss film mein mere itne sapne poore hue hai na. Maine Shah Rukh sir ke saath ek drunk scene kar liya, agle din humne ek hi nimbu chaat liya aur phir unke baaho mein main marr bhi gaya. Itna naseeb toh Shah Rukh sir ki heroine ko nahi milta. Main sir ko mazaak mazaak mein bolta tha, itne intimate aap kisi ke saath hue ho jitne aap mere saath hue ho? Voh bhi kehte, nahi yaar (laughs).”

Released in 2023, Dunki featured Vicky Kaushal as Sukhi. The film also starred Taapsee Pannu, Anil Grover, and Vikram Kochhar in key roles.

Vicky Kaushal is currently preparing for the release of Chhaava, a historical drama based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He will be seen portraying Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of the Maratha empire’s founder. The film also features Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta in significant roles.

He said, “I belong to a Punjabi family, but even for us, he (Shivaji Maharaj) is God. And it’s not like someone has told us this, we have seen it since childhood. The building in which I grew up, there was a mural of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the gate, which would be garlanded daily…So our objective is to now create equal awareness about Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, too, for celebrating his bravery.”

Chhaava is set to release in theatres on February 14, 2025.

Varun Dhawan – Janhvi Kapoor starrer Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari shoot extended; film delayed to the second half of 2025

While the excitement was building around the release of Shashank Khaitan’s rom-com, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, we have heard from our reliable industry sources that the Karan Johar production is no longer releasing on April 18, 2025 as announced. A very close source to the film confirms that the shoot for Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari has been extended to March.

“Karan and Shashank feel that there is scope for more fun elements in the film, and hence they have planned another schedule to be canned around the destination wedding moments. The entire cast, including Varun and Janhvi will be a part of this schedule. The idea is to enhance the film further to hit the bull’s eye. Karan is a master of this genre and is leaving no stone unturned to serve the audience with two big-scale rom-coms: Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and Tu Meri Main Tera Main Teri Tu Mera in 2025 and 2025 respectively,” the source told Bollywood Hungama further.

Further talking about what exactly Karan and Shashank are looking to shoot, the source continues, “Apart from some scenes, the makers will also be shooting for 2 songs. Around 25 days of shoot remains, which has led to a delay in release. Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari will hit the big screen in the second half of 2025,” the source shared with us.

The date of Sunny Sanskari will now be taken by another Dharma film, and the release date announcement is around the corner.

EXCLUSIVE: Kesari Chapter 2 won’t arrive on Holi; Dhadak 2 takes up the March 14 slot

On Monday, February 3, Bollywood Hungama published the viral news that the Akshay Kumar-R Madhavan-Ananya Pandey starrer period courtroom drama has been titled as Kesari Chapter 2. The news spread like wild fire in no time. The film was initially scheduled to be released on March 14 on the occasion of Holi, just like the first part, which arrived in cinemas on Holi 2019. But as per the latest information, the film has been pushed ahead.

This brought up the question as to which film will now take up the Holi slot. Bollywood Hungama has learned that Dhadak 2 will be the Holi release of 2025. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Dhadak 2, like Kesari Chapter 2, is produced by Dharma Productions. Once they postponed the Akshay Kumar-starrer, they decided to not let go of the coveted slot and hence, are all set to bring Dhadak 2 on the Festival of Colours. An official announcement is expected to take place soon.”

Dhadak 2 stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri and was originally scheduled to be released on November 22, 2024. It was then pushed to February 21, coinciding with Triptii’s birthday, which falls on February 23.

As of now, Dhadak 2 is expected to have a solo release on Holi. An industry insider commented, “Holi is a big festival and ideally, two mid-sized films can be accommodated at that time. However, this year, Holi falls during the Holy month of Ramadan. Salman Khan’s big-scale action film Sikandar is scheduled to release two weeks after Holi, on Eid. Hence, expect fewer releases in March.”

A trade expert, meanwhile, remarked, “February 7 will see two releases – Badass Ravi Kumar and Loveyapa along with a plethora of re-releases. Chhaava arrives on February 14 and Mere Husband Ki Biwi on February 21. No major film is lined up after that except The Diplomat on March 7 and Dhadak 2 on March 14. Even May might have fewer releases, as it happened last year, due to IPL. Hence, there might be unnecessary clashes from June. In short, the industry might once again repeat the mistakes of 2024 of letting certain Fridays go to waste and having too many releases in certain weeks.”

Darab Farooqui criticizes Bollywood’s payment system for Screenwriters: “They receive 10% upon signing the contract, and then they must write the entire script”

Screenwriter Darab Farooqui has raised concerns over the struggles faced by screenwriters in Bollywood, calling the current system unfair and exploitative. In a detailed Twitter post, he explained how writers are often underpaid and forced to wait indefinitely for their dues.

Farooqui highlighted that screenwriters Screenwriters are having the worst time in Bollywood. He wrote, “They receive 10% upon signing the contract, and then they must write the entire script, which is then approved for an additional 10-20%. The rest will be paid only if the project is approved when the actor signs. And this is true in most circumstances.”

Long and Important post on Screenwriters.

Screenwriters are having the worst time in Bollywood.

They receive 10% upon signing the contract, and then they must write the entire script, which is then approved for an additional 10-20%.

The rest will be paid only if the project…
— Darab Farooqui (@darab_farooqui) February 4, 2025

He pointed out that this structure leaves writers financially vulnerable, as projects often get delayed or shelved. Farooqui also discussed the consequences of this flawed system, including:

No writer can make it with just writing two movies per year. No one. Regardless of how much you are paid, you will only receive 20-30% of the total script until the film is made.
The first draft of the script can complete up to 80-85% of the work of writing, but you will only receive 20-30%.
The situation is even worse for new writers, who receive far less, resulting in virtual servitude. At 30%, they must create approximately 4-5 scripts per year merely to cover their apartment rent.
The normal script takes 3-4 months at the minimum, however I take significantly longer. So how can a writer produce 4-5 scripts?
Producers gain huge leverage here; for the cost of one script, they may invest in three to four projects, reducing their risks significantly and shifting the risk entirely to writers.
Although the writers incur all of the risks, the profits go entirely to the producers and actors. I mean seriously, the writers take the risk and fruits go to someone else, how does that even work.

He further elaborated, “This is why we make lousy movies; because writers suffer. Everyone in the industry works because writers write. But there is no correction, and nobody is listening. This amount of exploitation following COVID has become the standard lately. I know most of you believe they know more about the film industry than I do because a youtuber or influencer told you otherwise. But, believe me, as a cinephile, you must be aware of these facts.”

Darab added, “If none of you bring about any changes, your complaints are hollow and meaningless about bad Bollywood movies. You deserve horrible movies because if people do not defend art and artists, it will inevitably die.”

His post has sparked a conversation about the need for better financial protection and timely payments for screenwriters in the industry.

Subhash Ghai, and wife Mukta Ghai buys Rs. 24 crore apartment in Mumbai’s Bandra West

Director Subhash Ghai and his wife, Mukta Ghai, have purchased an apartment in Bandra West, Mumbai, for Rs. 24 crore, according to property registration documents reviewed by Square Yards on the Inspector General of Registration (IGR) website. The transaction was registered in February 2025.

Bandra’s proximity to Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai’s key commercial hub, makes it an attractive residential option for corporate executives and business owners seeking minimal commute times. Connectivity is a major advantage, with the Western Express Highway, Bandra-Worli Sea Link, international airport, and the upcoming metro enhancing accessibility. Bollywood stars such as Suniel Shetty, Ranveer Singh, and Deepika Padukone, Sonakshi Sinha along with sports personalities like KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty, also own properties in this neighbourhood.

The property bought by Ghai along with his wife is located in 81 Aureate, a project by MJ Shah Group, spread across 4.48 acres and featuring 4 BHK apartments. As per the IGR property registration documents reviewed by Square Yards, the apartment has a carpet area of 4,364 sq. ft. (405.42 sq. m.) and a built-up area of 486.69 sq. m. (~5,239 sq. ft.). It also includes three car parking spaces. The transaction incurred a stamp duty payment of Rs. 1.44 crore and registration charges of Rs. 30,000.

According to Square Yards Project Data Intelligence, a total of 8 transactions amounting to a gross transaction value of Rs. 76 crore were registered with IGR in 81 Aureate between February 2024 and January 2025. Currently, the average resale property price for a 4BHK in the project stands at Rs. 51,636 per sq.ft. while the average monthly asking rent is Rs. 8.5 lakh.

Subhash Ghai is an Indian film director, producer, actor, lyricist, music director, and screenwriter known for his work in Hindi cinema.
