Arjun Kapoor, who is set to return to theatres in a new role after playing the scary antagonist in Singham Again, suffered a mishap on the sets of his upcoming film Mere Husband Ki Biwi. On Sunday, reports surfaced stating that the ceiling of the set collapsed with many of them under it. It was being said that along with the crew members, the Kapoor boy as well as producer Jackky Bhagnani also sustained a few injuries. However, FWICE president BN Tiwari has assured that there were no fatal injuries.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, the president Tiwari addressed the issue and said, “There have been no major injuries. Kuch bhi ho sakta tha, par shukr hai kisi ko kuch zyada laga nahin (Anything could have happened. But fortunately, nothing like that happened)”. He added, “Jahaan shooting ho rahi thi, wahaan pe shooting band kara di gayi hai (Wherever the shooting was happening, it has been paused)”.

He further opened up about escalating the matter and added, “We have sent a letter to the Prime Minister in Delhi as well as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra over the health and safety of workers in the industry. We have written to the Film City too that the foundations are so old that they can fall down any day. So, a structural audit needs to be done. There is no exit gate for fire safety in case of a mishap. Puri film industry bhagwan ke sahare chal rahi hai, par bhagwan bhi kab tak hi dekhega (Everything happening here has been left to the fate of God but until when will God look after us)”

Tiwari also expressed concern over the safety of workers and explained the need of better maintenance of studios in Mumbai. He insisted that owing to the current condition, many of them have shifted their shoot locations outside the city because of this issue in Maharashtra.

What happens when four celebrated action directors and six antagonists come together in one film? Telugu director Gopichand Malineni’s upcoming action drama Jaat starring Sunny Deol promises to answer that question. Designed to be Deol’s biggest action spectacle, the film is said to have elaborate stunt sequences, a gripping storyline, and a star-studded cast. Nearing completion, Jaat is expected to release in five languages, taking Sunny Deol’s legacy of action films to new heights.

A Stunt Team Like No Other
Jaat is aiming to raise the bar for action dramas with the involvement of four acclaimed action directors: Anal Arasu, Ram-Lakshman, Naga Venkat, and Peter Hein, famous for his work in Kalki 2898 AD. Each has choreographed a unique sequence tailored to amplify the film’s action quotient.

As per a report by Mid-Day, Peter Hein directed an adrenaline-pumping car chase sequence filmed in Hyderabad, while Naga Venkat created a hand-to-hand combat scene inside a police station, ending with Sunny Deol wielding a massive fan as a weapon. Ram-Lakshman choreographed a thrilling shipboard battle at Mangalore’s Panambur Port, and an ambitious forest fight set in Agumbe, Mangalore, serves as one of the film’s standout moments.
Six Villains to Test Sunny Deol’s Might
To complement Sunny Deol’s mighty protagonist, the film features six powerful antagonists played by Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh, Ajay Ghosh, Dayanand Shetty, Jagpathi Babu, and Babloo Prithiveeraj. “Director Gopichand Malineni wanted to make the stakes even higher, surpassing Gadar 2: The Katha Continues in terms of scale and action,” a source revealed.
Final Touches Before the Big Release
With just a week’s shooting left in Mangalore, Jaat is nearly ready. Co-starring Saiyami Kher and Regina Cassandra, the film has been shot across Hyderabad, Mangalore, and other locations. It features diverse set pieces designed by Avinash Kolla.

Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has sold his duplex apartment in Oshiwara, Mumbai, for Rs. 83 crores, according to property registration documents reviewed by Square Yards on the website of the Inspector General of Registration (IGR). The transaction was registered in January 2025.

Oshiwara, a bustling neighborhood in western Mumbai, is known for its vibrant lifestyle and strategic location near the Lokhandwala Complex. Well-connected by roads and the Mumbai Metro, it offers a seamless blend of urban convenience and modern living. The property is located in The Atlantis, a residential project by Crystal Group in Oshiwara, spread across 1.55 acres, offering 4, 5, and 6 BHK apartments.

As per the IGR registration documents reviewed by Square Yards, the premium duplex apartment spans a built-up area of 529.94 sq. m (~5,704 sq. ft) and a carpet area of 5,185.62 sq. ft (~481.75 sq. m). It also features a spacious terrace measuring 445.93 sq. m (~4,800 sq. ft) and includes six mechanized car parking spaces. The transaction incurred a stamp duty payment of Rs. 4.98 crores and registration charges of Rs. 30,000.

Square Yards’ analysis, based on a review of IGR registration documents, reveals that the duplex apartment was purchased by Bachchan for Rs. 31 crores in April 2021 and was currently sold for Rs. 83 crores, reflecting a remarkable 168% increase in value. Additionally, the same apartment was given on rent to actress Kriti Sanon in November 2021 for a monthly rent of Rs. 10 lahks and a security deposit of Rs. 60 lahks, according to IGR lease documents reviewed by Square Yards.

Amid much controversy, the Kangana Ranaut starrer Emergency finally hit theatres across the world last week, after delays and roadblocks. However, the challenges seem far from over. While the Punjab government in India is tackling the protests from the SGPC community who have raised an objection over the misrepresentation of Sikhs in the film, the next location to face challenges is the city of London in England from alleged Khalistani activists.

Many social media users took to the social media platform X aka Twitter to share videos from a screening in London theatre which was interrupted by alleged Khalistani protesters. In these videos, the protesters were seen entering the auditorium in the middle of the show as they started shouting slogans like ‘Khalistan Zindabad’, demanding to stop the screening of the movie. While the protests did not turn violent, audiences were left quite shocked by this incident and many of them also ended up having arguments with these perpetrators. However, the theatre authorities have not yet filed any official charges against these activists despite the issues.

Ever since its inception, this Kangana Ranaut directorial has been facing tremendous opposition as it attempts to bring forth the story behind why Prime Minister Indira Gandhi imposed an emergency in India in the 1970s. While the film has been completed for quite some time now, it aimed at a theatrical release in September last year but faced issues with the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification). The latter finally greenlit the project in January this year. Featuring an ensemble cast, the film released on January 17.

Saif Ali Khan sustained multiple injuries during the robbery incident on January 16 and is currently receiving treatment at Lilavati Hospital. Meanwhile, Mumbai Police arrested the main suspect in the stabbing case on Sunday and presented them in court. A video of the accused attacker has since gone viral.

In a video shared by Instant Bollywood, the accused is seen surrounded by police as he exits the court with his face covered, walking towards a van. On Sunday, the Bandra Court remanded the accused to five days of police custody, supporting the Mumbai Police’s request for further investigation. The court stated, “We are satisfied by the demand of Mumbai Police. The accused has entered inside the residence of a celebrity and attacked him. The police need to recover the clothes worn by him on that day. Hence, custodial interrogation is required. The police also needs to recover the knife that was used by the accused. The learned defence council has said that no notice was given to the accused U/S43A of the BNS.”

The court further stated, “After having considered the submission of the defence and the prosecution, I find that they are well founded allegations. The investigation is at early stage. The accused has been arrested earlier today. The police therefore are justified in asking sufficient period for an investigation.”

In requesting the accused’s 14-day custody, the police stated, “The attacker is ruthless as he stabbed Saif Ali Khan several times. We need him in custody to collect more evidence.”

The investigating officer informed the court that the accused attacked Saif Ali Khan on January 16 inside his Mumbai residence. The officer further stated, “We have recovered a part of knife from the wound, the second was recovered from the crime spot and the third is missing. We need to recover that. We have to find the clothes that he was wearing on that day. Also, the accused is a Bangaldeshi national. We have to investigate where he came from. He had recently came to Mumbai.”

For those unaware, an attempted robbery occurred at Saif Ali Khan’s Bandra home earlier this week. Following a struggle with the robber, the actor sustained severe injuries. Saif Ali Khan was stabbed six times, including in his neck and shoulder, at his Bandra West apartment around 2:30 am on Thursday. He was promptly taken to Lilavati Hospital, where a 2.5-inch piece of the blade was removed from his spine during a five-hour-long surgery.

Doctor lashes out insurance companies

In a post shared on X aka Twitter, the doctor has addressed the challenges faced by common man for extensive surgeries wherein they have to undergo extensive procedures to receive a sanction of amounts above Rs. 5 lakhs. He raised questions as he questioned these companies over their change of attitude towards famous personas and celebrities. He said, “For small hospitals and common man, Niva Bupa will not sanction more than Rs 5 lakh for such treatment. All 5 star hospitals are charging exorbitant fees and mediclaim companies are paying also. result – premiums are rising and middle class is suffering”.

The insurance company Niva Bupa confirms details of Khan’s insurance

After the claim went viral on social media, the insurance company Niva Bupa confirmed the details to Mint wherein they issued a statement that read, “The recent unfortunate incident with actor Saif Ali Khan is deeply concerning. We wish him a speedy and safe recovery. Mr. Khan is one of our policy holders. A cashless pre-authorisation request was sent to us upon his hospitalisation, and we have given an approval of an initial amount to start the treatment. Once we receive the final bills post the complete treatment, it will be settled as per policy terms and conditions. We stand with Mr. Khan and his family in this distressing time.”

About the attack on Saif Ali Khan and his medical treatment

On January 16, Khan was attacked at his Mumbai residence in the wee hours of dawn in an ensuing scuffle with an alleged robber. The actor sustained multiple injuries and was immediately rushed to the Lilavati Hospital, where he was taken into surgery within a couple of hours after being admitted. From thoracic spine surgery to covering wounds with cosmetic surgery, the actor underwent quite a bit of treatment and is currently on the recovery process.

Amid much fanfare and hoopla, the starry night of Bigg Boss 18 grand finale ended with the announcement of the winner, like every year. This time around, the celebrity who walked away with the trophy was Karan Veer Mehra, who seems to have been in the center of almost all controversies on the reality show. On the grand finale that was held on January 19, the reality show saw its top five contestants – Vivian DSena, Rajat Dalal, Avinash Mishra, and Chum Darang fighting it out for the coveted trophy.

What is the sequence of winners?

Out of the first six, the first one to bid adieu to the show was Eisha Singh, followed by Chum Darang in the fifth spot. Hailing from north-east India, Darang received immense love and support throughout the show but the popular star couldn’t make it to top 3. The second elimination came as a surprise to many as Avinash Mishra – another name that created many scandals, was evicted. Followed by the same, Bigg Boss 18 received its top three contestants – Vivian DSena, Rajat Dalal, and Karan Veer Mehra. While Dala was the next to be eliminated, a massive competition ensued between the two popular television actors eventually leading to DSena being the runner-up and Mehra taking home the trophy.

For the unversed, this is the second consecutive win of Karan with Colors channel as the actor also bagged the trophy for Khatron Ke Khiladi 14. Expressing his happiness over the two wins, Karan told ANI, “I feel very happy. I am the chosen one”. “I did the rare task of winning back-to-back reality shows. I believed in myself. I worked hard and aimed for the top and it happened”, he added.
