Just 5 days are left for the release of Sky Force and its lead actors Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya are going all out for promotions. Today, Sunday, January 19, there were all set to feature on the grand finale of the popular TV show Bigg Boss 18. Fans of the shows were looking forward to seeing Akshay, Veer and the host Salman Khan share the stage. Sadly, the plan failed to materialize.

As per reports, Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya reached the sets of Bigg Boss 18 at the schedule time of 2:15 pm. Salman Khan, however, wasn’t present on the sets. Nevertheless, Akshay Kumar waited for an hour and had to leave as he had to attend a trial screening of his other 2025 upcoming film, Jolly LLB 3, co-starring Arshad Warsi.

The reports also suggested that Akshay Kumar spoke to Salman Khan to explain why he had to skip the Bigg Boss 18 finale. Salman completely understood Akshay’s plight and said that he hoped to have him on Bigg Boss the next season.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan, son Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor were also scheduled to appear at the grand finale of Bigg Boss 18 as part of Loveyapa’s promotions. And, as planned, the shoot did take place. Both Junaid and Khushi are the leading actors in Loveyapa. Aamir, interestingly, hasn’t produced the film but is sportingly promoting the film. As expected, his presence has further enhanced the buzz surrounding the film.

Coming back to Sky Force, it also stars Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur besides Akshay Kumar and debutant Veer Pahariya. It is backed by Maddock Films as well as Jio Studios. It is all set to release in cinemas on January 24. As for Loveyapa, it is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on February 7.

A Mumbai court has granted five-day police custody to Shariful Islam Shehzad, who has been arrested for allegedly breaking into actor Saif Ali Khan’s residence and injuring him and his staff. The incident occurred during a burglary attempt late Wednesday night. Shariful, a Bangladeshi national living in Mumbai under a false identity, was apprehended early Thursday morning in Thane. In court, the accused claimed he is being framed and denied the allegations.

Who is Shariful Islam Shehzad?
According to the police, Shariful Islam Shehzad crossed into India illegally and had been residing in Mumbai under the assumed name of Bijoy Das. They are investigating his connections and the possible support network that helped him establish himself in the city. The police have also revealed that Shariful acted with a plan, targeting the high-security Bandra locality where Saif Ali Khan resides.
Police Seek Answers and Evidence
During the court proceedings, the police requested 14 days of custody but were granted five to interrogate Shariful further. They revealed that Saif Ali Khan sustained six stab injuries, one dangerously close to his spine, during the altercation. The weapon, a knife that broke into three pieces, is a key piece of evidence. While one shard was recovered from the actor’s body, another is still missing. Authorities are also searching for the bloodstained clothes Shariful allegedly hid after the attack to match blood samples as evidence.
Accused Claims Innocence
Shariful’s lawyer, Dinesh Prajapati, argued in court that the allegations are baseless and motivated by Saif Ali Khan’s celebrity status. “We have said in his defence that nothing has been recovered from him. They have not produced any document to prove he is a Bangladeshi national,” Prajapati stated. Shariful maintains that he is being scapegoated in this high-profile case.

A man was arrested in Maharashtra’s Thane early this morning for allegedly attacking Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his Mumbai residence, according to the police, as per a report by NDTV. The accused, 30-year-old Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, was apprehended near the Hiranandani Estate in Kasarvadavali, located about 35 kilometres from Khan’s residence.

 

“Investigation has revealed that he went to Saif’s house with the intention of theft. It seems the accused is a Bangladeshi,” senior police official Dixit Gedam stated during a press conference following the arrest.

He added, “We have recovered some items from him that suggest he is from Bangladesh. He came to India illegally and changed his name to Bijoy Das. He has been living in Mumbai for about four months and was working at a housekeeping agency.”

The intruder reportedly managed to break into Saif Ali Khan’s home through the back fire exit. His maid spotted him and screamed for help. When Khan confronted him, the attacker stabbed him six times before fleeing. The actor was quickly rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where doctors have reported that he is recovering well.

A police statement said as per the publication, “The robber asked for money and when he was opposed, he attacked the maid Junu and Saif Ali Khan and injured them. Police have taken the accused into custody on the basis of technical evidence. The accused’s name is Shariful Islam Shehzad and he is a Bangladeshi national.”

Earlier on Saturday, a suspect identified as 31-year-old Aakash Kailash Kannojia from Mumbai was detained at Chhattisgarh’s Durg railway station. Officials stated that he was “caught from the Mumbai-Howrah Jnaneswari Express based on information provided by the Mumbai Police.”

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials said, “Around 2 pm, when the train reached Durg, the suspect – who was sitting in the general compartment – deboarded and was immediately taken into custody. He is being interrogated.”

“The Mumbai Police had sent the suspect’s photo, train number and location to the RPF, after which he was caught,” they said. “The man was travelling without a ticket,” they added. Sources noted that the detained passenger resembled the suspect in the actor-stabbing case.

The attack on the popular actor has shocked the nation and raised concerns about the law and order situation in Mumbai.

The suspect was caught with the help of local law enforcement while aboard a train. He closely resembles the individual seen fleeing from the crime scene. According to police sources, the bag he carried was purchased from a local roadside market.

During the release of Stree 2, the moviegoers were in a surprise when they got a chance to see the massy teaser of Chhava. As the teaser rightfully says, it presents Vicky Kaushal like never before and hence, the teaser got a roaring response. Now, when the moviegoers will venture out to watch Sky Force next week, they’ll get to see the much-awaited trailer of Chhava.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The trailer of Chhava has been attached with the prints of Sky Force. It made sense as both films, just like Stree 2, are produced by Maddock Films.”

In a rare instance, the teaser of Chhava was made available only in cinemas with Stree 2 and a few days later, it was launched on digital. The trailer, however, will be made available online on January 22 before it can be seen in cinemas on January 24 with Sky Force.

The source continued, “Chhava is a big scale film. Sky Force is expected to get a huge turnout. Therefore, a large number of the audience will get to experience the grandeur and mass appeal of Chhava on the big screen and it will further add to its hype.”

Chhava also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna and Divya Dutta. Directed by Laxman Utekar, it releases in cinemas on February 14.

Sky Force, on the other hand, stars Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur and marks the debut of Veer Pahariya. It is backed by Maddock Films as well as Jio Studios.

Meanwhile, Bollywood Hungama has learned the run time of Sky Force. A trade source told us, “The film is 125 minutes long, that is, it has a run time of 2 hours and 5 minutes.”

Another source told us that the censor process is almost complete and the makers will be granted the censor certificate, in case it hasn’t happened already.
