Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor was injured on the set of his upcoming film Mere Husband Ki Biwi in Mumbai after a ceiling collapsed during a shoot. The incident occurred at Imperial Palace, Royal Palms, where Kapoor was filming a song alongside Bhumi Pednekar, Jackky Bhagnani, and director Mudassar Aziz. Fortunately, none of the cast or crew members sustained life-threatening injuries. According to Ashok Dubey from the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), the collapse was triggered by vibrations from the sound system.

Choreographer Vijay Ganguly, who was overseeing the song sequence, recounted the harrowing moment: “We were on the monitor when suddenly the ceiling collapsed. Luckily, it fell in parts, and we had a trough to protect us. Had the entire ceiling fallen, it could have been disastrous, but many people still got hurt.” The director of photography (DOP) fractured his thumb, a camera attendant suffered a spine injury, and Ganguly himself sustained injuries to his elbow and head. Director Mudassar Aziz was also injured in the accident.
Safety Concerns on Mere Husband Ki Biwi Sets
The incident highlights growing concerns over safety on Bollywood sets, particularly at older shooting locations. Ganguly, as per a report by Mid-Day, remarked, “These old locations are often used for shoots, and as production companies, we are sure that safety measures are checked. However, many times, the safety of the location isn’t properly verified before it’s offered for shooting.” In response, FWICE has written to Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and the BMC to underscore the importance of stringent safety protocols on film sets, according to a report by ETimes.

Mere Husband Ki Biwi features Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles. The film, directed by Mudassar Aziz, is set to release on February 21. Aziz shared his excitement about the project, describing it as a celebration of the quirks and complexities of romantic relationships. “I’ve always believed in making wholesome entertainers that bring families together and leave audiences smiling. Mere Husband Ki Biwi is lighthearted, relatable, and full of moments that stay with you long after you leave the theatre,” Aziz stated in a press note earlier.

Despite the unfortunate incident, the team of Mere Husband Ki Biwi remains optimistic about completing the project on time. Kapoor and his co-stars Bhumi Pednekar and Raku Preet Singh are committed to ensuring that the film’s February 21 release date is met.

Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor Khan has shared critical details about the attack on her husband, Saif Ali Khan, during the early hours of Thursday. In her statement to Bandra Police on Friday evening, she revealed how Saif intervened to protect the women in their house and their younger son, Jeh, from the “very aggressive” attacker. As per a report by India Today, the intruder managed to enter their 11th-floor Bandra residence and confronted a maid before being stopped by Saif. As the situation escalated, Saif sustained severe injuries, including a knife wound to his spine, which required immediate surgery.

Kareena’s statement confirmed that Saif Ali Khan’s quick response ensured the safety of their children and others in the house. “Saif was the first to intervene and prevented the attacker from reaching Jeh. The women and children were moved to the 12th floor for their safety,” Kareena told the police. Despite the intruder’s aggression, valuables such as jewellery left in the open were untouched. Following the attack, Kareena’s sister Karisma Kapoor took her and the children to her residence, while Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital.
Police Investigation Underway
The Mumbai Police have intensified their investigation into the attack. Over 30 statements have been recorded, and CCTV footage from the Bandra area has been seized. Currently, three suspects are being interrogated, but no arrests have been made. In addition, 20 police teams and 10 Crime Branch teams have been deployed to solve the case. Authorities are working around the clock to identify and apprehend the perpetrator.

Doctors at Lilavati Hospital successfully performed surgery on Saif Ali Khan, removing a 2.5-inch knife blade from his spine and repairing a spinal fluid leak. While the actor remains under observation, his condition is stable. Kareena expressed her gratitude to the medical team and the police for their swift action in managing the crisis.

Kareena and Saif, who have been married since 2012, share two sons, Taimur and Jeh. Reflecting on the incident, Kareena’s concern for her family’s safety is evident. “We were all shaken, but Saif’s bravery kept us safe,” she shared earlier in a social media post.

Diljit Dosanjh’s highly anticipated Punjabi film Panjab 95 is set to release on February 7, 2025. The actor-singer shared the teaser of the film on his Instagram, accompanied by the hashtag ‘Challenge The Darkness’. He also specifically mentioned that the film will be released without any cuts. Directed by Honey Trehan and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, the project promises to captivate audiences.

The trailer opens with Arjun Rampal’s character reflecting on how the history of Punjab is often reduced to significant events like Operation Bluestar, the assassination of Indira Gandhi, and the 1984 riots. We are then introduced to Diljit Dosanjh, who plays Jaswant Singh Khalra, a Sikh rights activist. Khalra was investigating illegal killings and cremations carried out by the Punjab police.

Due to the sensitive nature of the film’s subject, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had earlier recommended 120 cuts for Panjab 95. But, as per Diljit’s aforementioned Instagram post, the film is releasing with no cuts. The movie was also screened for the family of Jaswant Singh Khalra in 2022, and sources revealed that they were extremely pleased with the final version.

The film is expected to depict the life of Jaswant Singh Khalra before he was tragically kidnapped, tortured, and murdered by the police. At least six officers were booked for their involvement in the crime.

TV actor Aman Jaiswal, famed for his role in the popular series Dhartiputra Nandini, tragically passed away in a road accident in Jogeshwari West area of Mumbai yesterday. The actor was reportedly struck by a truck on one of the city’s busy roads, leading to his untimely death.

The accident occurred on Hill Park Road at around 3:15 pm. Police reports indicate that the truck driver struck Aman Jaiswal while he was riding his motorcycle.

Jaiswal was rushed to the trauma ward of Cama Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The truck and its driver are now in police custody, and a case has been registered at Amboli police station, according to ANI, citing Mumbai Police.

Aman Jaiswal was on his way to an audition when a truck collided with his bike on the Jogeshwari highway, Dhiraj Mishra, the writer of Dhartiputra Nandini, told India Today.

Aman Jaiswal’s final Instagram post was about the Dhartiputra Nandini serial, where he shared his journey and revealed that his decision to pursue acting faced significant opposition from his family.

Originally from Balia, Uttar Pradesh, Aman Jaiswal rose to fame for his lead role in Dhartiputra Nandini. He started his career as a model before appearing in the popular show Udaariyaan, produced by Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta.

Aman Jaiswal also played the role of Yashwant Rao Phanse in the Sony TV show Punyashlok Ahilyabai, which aired from January 2021 to October 2023.

A day after actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed by an intruder at his Bandra residence, an auto-rickshaw driver Bhajan Singh Rana, who took him to the Lilavati Hospital, said he was not aware that the passenger he was taking to the Hospital was film actor Saif Ali Khan.

He said, “I drive my vehicle at night. It was around 2-3 am when I saw a woman trying to hire an auto but nobody stopped. I could also hear calls for a rickshaw from inside the gate. After I took a U-turn and stopped my vehicle at the gate, a man who was covered in blood came out. 2-4 people also accompanied him.”

He added, “They put him in the auto…They decided to go to Lilavati. I dropped them off there…I then came to know that he is Saif Ali Khan…I saw him bleeding from his neck and back.”

After a long battle, the attempt to bring forth a glimpse of what transpired during India’s darkest period of emergency is the upcoming political thriller starring Kangana Ranaut as the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi finally succeeded when the film got a green signal from the censor board. The film, also titled Emergency, hit cinemas on January 17 across the nation but however, it continues to face opposition from the Sikh community in Punjab. Upset by the same, Kangana has taken to social media to express her anguish.

Although there has been no legal ban on the film’s release, the SGPC has raised an objection by expressing that the film defames the Sikh community and has even sent a letter regarding the same to the Punjab CM. Meanwhile, responding to one of the politician’s post on social media who shared the sentiments about the film being objectionable, Kangana has penned a note slamming them and accusing them of harassment.

In a post she shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), Kangana Ranaut wrote, “This is complete harassment of art and the artist, from Punjab many cities are reporting that these people are not allowing Emergency to be screened. I have utmost respect for all religions and after studying and growing up in Chandigarh I have closely observed and followed Sikh religion. This is a complete lie and propaganda to tarnish my image and harm my film #Emergency”.

Politician extends support to SGPC protests

This tweet comes in response to the post shared by Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira on X, wherein he had said, “I support the demand of @SGPCAmritsar to ban the film Emergency directed by @KanganaTeam a known critic of farmers & Sikhs without knowing their contribution towards our country. SGPC is our elected representative body and @BhagwantMann should take immediate steps to ban the film that depicts Sikhs in bad light and brings defamation to our state of Punjab and its people-Khaira”.

Meanwhile, the SGPC has continued with their protests by demanding a ban on the release of the Kangana Ranaut starrer. They have issued statements to the media stating that they have organized these protests outside theatres in order to ensure that the film doesn’t release in the state.

Reflecting on the shocking nature of the attack, Shahid added, “We were all very shocked when we got to know that something like this happened to him in such a personal space. Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar surprised fans with the announcement of their upcoming film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, marking their first collaboration since their fallout during Dostana 2. Addressing the much-discussed partnership, Kartik recently shared his thoughts on working with Karan, assuring fans that this film will indeed be completed.

Speaking to The Indian Express, Kartik Aaryan said, “But abhi main inke sath film kar raha hu. And hum sath mein kar rahe hain yeh film and I hope yeh film toh hogi. Yeh film main puri tarah karunga and voh bhi puri tarah karenge yeh film. (Now I am doing a film with him. We are doing it together and I hope it happens. I will do this film and he will do it too.)” Kartik also added, “Yeh film toh bohot special hone wali hai (This film is going to be very special).”

Kartik Aaryan was shown a photo where he is seen taking blessings from Karan Johar. Reflecting on the image, the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 actor said, “Ispe kya bolu?
