Filming for Priyanka Chopra’s untitled holiday movie began on January 13 in Toronto, where she was spotted on set with Nick Jonas and his brothers. Chopra wore a black hoodie and a long black coat with grey and white stripes, while Nick kept warm in a dark puffy jacket with his hood up to shield himself from the snow.

The festive atmosphere on set was palpable as Priyanka Chopra later shed her winter coat to reveal a holiday-inspired ensemble: a cream-colored long-sleeve top paired with a red floor-length skirt. Meanwhile, Joe Jonas embraced the chilly weather in a teal cardigan and dark-wash jeans, exuding casual style as the shoot for the holiday film continued.

In addition to Priyanka Chopra and the Jonas brothers, the film will also feature Frankie Jonas, the youngest sibling, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Chloe Bennet.

Nick Jonas, known for his roles in Scream Queens, Kingdom, and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, expressed his gratitude for Chopra’s guidance during his preparation for the film. Speaking to E! News in August 2024, he shared, “I’ve got a pretty good scene partner at home,” he added, “By pretty good, I mean like, world-class, so that’s always nice.”

Nick Jonas further shared that he and Priyanka Chopra often delve into character development during their conversations. “We just talk about, you know, characters,” he said, highlighting the creative synergy between their personal and professional lives.

Chopra and Jonas, who tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur in December 2018, have remained in the spotlight. The couple welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie, via surrogacy in January 2022.

T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar is set to collaborate with the illustrious composer and songwriter Mithoon once again on a new album titled ‘Master of Melody’. Shahid Kapoor began 2024 with a bang with Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, which was the first hit of last year. He hopes to repeat last year’s magic in 2025 with Deva. The teaser of the film was unveiled on January 5 and caught attention. The song ‘Bhasad Macha’ also managed to impress movie buffs. And now, the makers are all set to launch the trailer of the film. Yesterday, Shahid Kapoor posted a rugged picture on his social media account with the caption, ‘Trailer agle hafte’, indicating that the much-awaited promo will be out next week.

Bollywood Hungama has learned the exact date of the trailer release. A source told us, “Deva’s trailer will be out on Tuesday, January 21. The teaser of Deva and ‘Bhasad Macha’ introduced the world of the film and the massy avatar of Shahid Kapoor. The trailer will give an idea about the plot of the film and will also highlight the other actors, including Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati and others.”

When asked if there would be a trailer launch, the source didn’t have knowledge about it. But he said, “The makers are looking at it and a clearer picture will emerge in a day or two. An event was held to launch the teaser at Bandra Fort but no questions were taken by the media. At the trailer launch, this can be arranged and along with Shahid, Pooja Hegde and others can also grace the event and interact with the journalists.”

Deva is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Zee Studios and is all set to release on January 31. It marks the Bollywood debut of Malayalam director Rosshan Andrrews. Meanwhile, there were speculations that Deva is a remake of the 2013 Malayalam film Mumbai Police, which is also directed by Rosshan Andrrews. Yesterday, Bollywood Hungama reported that there are murmurs that Deva might be inspired by Mumbai Mirror (2013), starring Sachiin Joshi.

Panorama Studios received much appreciation from audience as they presented a new twist to horror genre with Shaitaan (2024) starring Ajay Devgn, Jyotika, and R Madhavan. While it was a remake of the Gujarati horror drama Vash (2023), the film, despite the stupendous success of the original, continued to receive love from audience for its powerful performances. Now reports suggest that the makers are aiming at creating it in the form of a franchise which seems to be the flavor of the season.

Shaitaan sequel in works?

Followed by the success of the Ajay Devgn starrer, Panorama Studios reportedly aims at creating a franchise of sorts and it is being said that the plan is already in motion. It has been learnt that the makers have already kicked off work on the sequel to the horror drama. Journalist Rahul Raut shared the update on social media platform X aka Twitter saying, “The @AbhishekPathakk company also plans to turn #AjayDevgn’s #Shaitaan into a franchise with its TWO SEQUELS already in the works.” However, details of the storyline and whether the cast will be a part of it is yet to be revealed.

Panorama Studios plan to remake Turkish horror drama Dabbe

In the same tweet, it was also being said that the production house has purchased the rights of Turkish horror film Dabbe and is planning to remake the same in Hindi. While the film released in 2006, it was followed by several other horror dramas under the same title as a series. The other films under the title includes Dabbe 2, Dabbe: Demon Possession, Dabbe: Curse of the Jinn, Dabbe 5: Zehr-i-Cin, and Dabbe 6 with the final instalment releasing in 2015.

Kangana Ranaut starrer Emergency which has finally received the green signal for release, after a long battle continue to face challenges in other countries. The film, that revolves around the dark period of emergency in the 70s, during the reign of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, we hear, will not see the light of day in Bangladesh. Sources close to the film have revealed that some of the key factors that have led to this decision include the ongoing issues between India and Bangladesh as well as the portrayal of the assassination of former PM of Bangladesh, Shaikh Mujibir Rehman.

Sources reveal that the current political scenario has impacted the film’s release

A source was quoted in IANS saying, “The decision to halt the screening of Emergency in Bangladesh is tied to the current strained relations between India and Bangladesh. The ban is less about the content of the film and more about the ongoing political dynamics between the two nations.”

Meanwhile, another factor that seems to have played a role in this ban is the assassination of Shaikh Mujibir Rehman who is regarded as the Father of Bangladesh, since he played a key role in the separation of Bangladesh from Pakistan. We hear that the film showcases his murder by a group of Bangladeshi extremists that has also further impacted the release.

Despite being asked by the US Government who were showcasing their support towards Pakistan at the time when a portion of the country demanded a separate nation, India showcased support. Followed by the same, a state of Emergency was declared by her for a span of 21 months from 1975 to 1977 citing internal and external threats to the country.

Actor Jaideep Ahlawat’s father Dayanand Ahlawat passed away on the night of January 13. The actor immediately returned home to be with his family. His father, a retired teacher, was a significant influence in Jaideep’s life, often credited for helping him pursue his dreams in the entertainment industry.
