Days after comedian and actor Sunil Pal claimed that he was kidnapped, actor Mushtaq Khan’s business partner Shivam Yadav has shared that the actor too was kidnapped on November 20. He claimed that Khan was invited to be a part of an awards show in Meerut. He said that once he landed in Delhi, he was taken in a car supposedly to Meerut for the show. However, he was taken somewhere near Bijnor and that’s how he realized that he was kidnapped. Dubey also claimed that Khan didn’t suspect anything initially because he was paid in advance to attend the show and was also provided with flight tickets.

Shivam Yadav told India Today digital, “Mushtaq sir and his family were completely shaken over what happened with him. However, he was always sure that he would file an FIR after he composed himself. Yesterday, I went to Bijnor and filed an official FIR. We have proof of the flight ticket, the bank accounts and even CCTV footage near the airport. He also recognises the neigbhourhood, even the house where he was kept. I think the police team will surely get the culprits soon.”

Yadav also claimed that the kidnappers tortured him for 12 hours and demanded Rs. 1 crore from him. They later were able to get Rs. 2 lakh from his and his son’s account. Yadav said that early in the morning Khan heard the azaan and realized that a mosque is nearby. He ran away to the mosque where he sought help from some people and returned home with the help of police.

Mushtaq Khan is best known for starring in Anees Bazmee’s iconic comedy Welcome and the recent blockbuster Stree 2.

Recently, Sunil Pal also claimed to have been kidnapped and released after he paid Rs. 7.5 lakh to the kidnappers. As Khan’s incident is similar to that of Pal, Yadav was asked if he thinks this is a new syndicate to kidnap celebrities. He said, “We had no clue about the case. After Mushtaq sir returned, we spoke about the incident with a few of our close friends. When Sunil’s case was highlighted in the media, they informed us about the same. It is shocking that two public figures from the industry had to go through a similar ordeal. We hope there is awareness and protection in the future for everyone.”

The report also said that Khan will speak to the media in a few days.

The Patiala House Court in Delhi has issued summons against Bollywood veteran Dharmendra and two others in connection with a cheating case related to the Garam Dharam Dhaba franchise. The summons, issued on December 5, 2024, follows a complaint filed by Delhi businessman Sushil Kumar, who claims to have been deceived into investing in the restaurant chain.

Allegations and Summons Issued
The case revolves around allegations made by Sushil Kumar, who asserts that he was induced to invest in the Garam Dharam Dhaba franchise based on false promises. Judicial Magistrate Yashdeep Chahal issued the summons, noting that the evidence on record indicated that the accused had lured Kumar into the deal with the intention of defrauding him.

“The evidence on record prima facie indicates that the accused persons induced the complainant in furtherance of their common intent, and the ingredients of the offence of cheating are duly disclosed,” the judge observed in the summoning order.

As per the summons, Dharmendra (referred to as Dharam Singh Deol in legal documents) along with two co-accused individuals, has been asked to appear for the commission of offences under Section 420 (cheating), Section 120B (criminal conspiracy) read with Section 34 (common intention) of the IPC. Additionally, two of the accused have also been summoned for criminal intimidation under Section 506 of the IPC.
Details of the Alleged Fraud
The complaint was filed by Sushil Kumar, who claims that in April 2018, he was approached by one of the co-accused on behalf of Dharmendra, with an offer to open a Garam Dharam Dhaba franchise in Uttar Pradesh. Kumar was allegedly told that the existing branches in Delhi’s Connaught Place and Haryana’s Murthal were generating a monthly turnover of approximately Rs 70-80 lakh.

Lured by the lucrative promise, Kumar was assured a seven percent profit on his investment of Rs 41 lakh. Further discussions led to the complainant being asked to invest a total of Rs 63 lakh plus tax to secure the franchise. A letter of intent was signed on September 22, 2018, confirming this agreement.

The complainant handed over a cheque of Rs 17.70 lakh, which was encashed by the accused. However, despite Kumar’s repeated attempts to get the business up and running, the respondents allegedly failed to honor their commitments. Kumar also alleges that after investing in land for the franchise, he was unable to contact the accused and was threatened with dire consequences if he persisted in reaching out.
Court’s Ruling and Future Proceedings
The court has scheduled the next hearing for February 20, 2025. During this stage, the court stated that the summoning process is based on the prima facie evidence, and a thorough examination of the merits and demerits of the case will be conducted at a later stage.

Previously, the complainant had approached the Connaught Place police station, where an inquiry was carried out. The police initially classified the matter as a breach of contract, stating that no cognizable offence had been committed. However, after reviewing the case, the court has decided to proceed with the summons.

The Kapoor family is gearing up to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of the legendary actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor on December 14. To honor his unparalleled contributions to Indian cinema, the family is hosting a film festival dedicated to showcasing his iconic works. Ahead of the grand event, members of the Kapoor family, including Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, and Saif Ali Khan, traveled to New Delhi on Tuesday to personally invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the celebrations.

Early Tuesday morning, Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Saif Ali Khan were spotted at Mumbai’s Kalina airport, dressed in traditional attire. Accompanying them were Neetu Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor, who joined the family in extending the invitation.

For the occasion, Alia Bhatt opted for a red saree, while Ranbir Kapoor looked sharp in a black bandhgala. Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor chose elegant salwar kameez, while Saif Ali Khan donned a jacket over a classic kurta-pajama ensemble.

The Raj Kapoor Film Festival, organized by PVR INOX Limited in collaboration with the Film Heritage Foundation, will take place from December 13 to 15. The excitement is palpable as reports suggest that filmmaker Imtiaz Ali is venturing into a new genre with a quirky romantic comedy titled Idiots of Istanbul. While the project is yet to be officially confirmed, speculation is rife that the film will bring together Fahadh Faasil and Triptii Dimri.

Fahadh Faasil’s Bollywood Debut?
Rumors have been circulating about Fahadh Faasil making his Bollywood debut with this Netflix original. Known for his exceptional performances in Malayalam cinema and recent Pan-India hits like Pushpa 2: The Rule and Aavesham, Fahadh is said to be in advanced talks with Imtiaz Ali.

A report by Pinkvilla quotes a source close to the development saying, “It’s a quirky title, as Imtiaz Ali is switching genre from intense romance to a slice-of-life romantic comedy.  The story demands a title like Idiots of Istanbul, as the two key characters are on a journey to the largest city of Turkey. The character trait also warrants the casting of a powerhouse of talent like Fahadh Faasil, and the actor is also excited to embark on a ride with Imtiaz Ali and team.”

The project is expected to begin production in early 2025, with a tight three-month shooting schedule. Pre-production work has already started, and Imtiaz Ali is reportedly fine-tuning the script while completing location scouting. While fans eagerly await official confirmation, the buzz surrounding Idiots of Istanbul only adds to the anticipation for Imtiaz Ali’s next creative venture.
