Kapil Sharma has announced that the season finale of The Great Indian Kapil Show will air next Saturday. The show, currently in its second season, follows a format where the team takes a break after 13 episodes. Kapil will wrap up the season with the help of Varun Dhawan and the cast of Baby John.

In a teaser released with the episode featuring Rekha, Kapil revealed that the season finale is coming soon and introduced Varun Dhawan. The Baby John actor will be accompanied by producer Atlee and director Kalees, with Wamiqa Gabbi and Keerthy Suresh also appearing on set. The teaser hints at several exciting moments, including Varun Dhawan performing a pole dance.

In an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha at the beginning of the season, Archana Puran Singh, Sunil Grover, and Rajiv Thakur discussed the breaks the team takes between seasons. They explained that it is the streaming platform’s policy to have a short break between seasons. “Netflix took a break, not us. It’s their policy/format that they come seasonal,” Archana shared.

Rajiv joked, “They don’t have the habit of working too much. We love working a lot, make us work twice a week. We want Netflix to also follow the same.”

Sunil added, “I think as a format, this might be how they function — film 13 episodes a season.”

Khatija Rahman, daughter of the award-winning composer AR Rahman, has dismissed rumors suggesting that her father is taking a year-long break amid his separation news. Responding to the claims, Khatija took to X (formerly Twitter), urging people to stop spreading “useless rumours.”

AR Rahman had previously announced his separation from his wife of 29 years, Saira Banu, on November 19. The news came as a surprise to many, but Khatija Rahman has since clarified that reports about him taking a year-long break are false.

AR Rahman’s post on X regarding his separation from Saira Banu conveyed a deeply reflective tone. He wrote, “We had hoped to reach the grand thirty, but all things, it seems, carry an unseen end. Even the throne of God might tremble at the weight of broken hearts. Yet, in this shattering, we seek meaning, though the pieces may not find their place again. To our friends, thank you for your kindness and for respecting our privacy as we walk through this fragile chapter.”

On November 19, Saira Banu’s lawyer, Vandana Shah, released an official statement regarding the couple’s decision to part ways

The statement read, “After many years of marriage, Mrs Saira has made the difficult decision to separate from her husband Mr AR Rahman. This decision comes after significant emotional strain in their relationship. Despite their deep love for each other, the couple has found that the tensions and difficulties have created an insurmountable gap between them, one that neither party feels able to bridge at this time. Mrs Saira emphasised that she has taken this decision out of pain and agony. Mrs Saira requests privacy and understanding from the public during this challenging time, as she navigates this difficult chapter in her life.”

The couple, who got married in Chennai in 1995, has been together for nearly three decades.

Amid these health concerns, Saira Banu has also shared an emotional tribute to Dilip Kumar on their wedding anniversary. “We only have love. This is a whole community. We will stand with the community. Don’t worry, my brother, Rohan,” Raftaar said. He also appealed to MTV Hustle, urging them to de-escalate the situation. “Let’s meet in the middle and make it happen. Keep calm and be patient,” he added.

Aamir Khan recently shared an update on his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par, at the Red Sea International Film Festival. He revealed that the film is now targeting a mid-2025 release, dispelling earlier reports that it would release in December 2024.

Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par is a sequel to his 2007 iconic film Taare Zameen Par, which co-starred Darsheel Safary. Speaking to Deadline at the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah, Aamir shared, “We are coming to the post-production later this month. We would be ready to release the film in the middle of next year.”

The superstar added that while Sitaare Zameen Par is a sequel to Taare Zameen Par, it will not feature the same characters. “It’s a fresh set of characters, completely fresh situation and plot. Thematically, it is a sequel to Taare Zameen Par,” he explained.

Aamir also discussed several upcoming projects under his production banner. He revealed plans for Lahore 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and starring Sunny Deol. Additionally, he shared that he is producing his son Junaid Khan’s film, titled Ek Din, which features Sai Pallavi.

Additionally, Aamir Khan mentioned his third production, a film he is acting in, though he kept the details under wraps. For his fourth venture, he announced an Austin Powers-inspired movie being written and directed by Vir Das, who will also star in it.

Currently, Aamir is busy with the Oscar campaign for Laapataa Ladies.

The Judicial Magistrate Bandra, Mumbai has directed Bandra Police Station to file an FIR against director Ali Abbas Zafar, Co Producer Himanshu Mehra and Others under Sections 120-B Criminal Conspiracy, 406, 420 Cheating, 465 Forgery, 468 Forgery For the Purpose of Cheating, 471, 500 Criminal Defamation and 506 Criminal Intimidation, r/w.34 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita /IPC who had helmed the 2024 multi-starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

On September 3, 2024, Vashu Bhagnani had filed a complaint against Ali Abbas Zafar, Himanshu Mehra and others with Bandra Police Station for fraud, forgery, criminal breach of trust, cheating and misappropriating crores of rupees by allegedly falsifying and forging signatures of Vashu Bhagnani during the shooting of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan but no action was taken by the Police.

Thereafter, Vashu Bhagnani sought Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate Court’s direction to register the FIR against Ali Abbas Zafar, Himanshu Mehra and others.

The Court in its order dated 02.12.2024, held that the total amount of alleged fraud and cheating and number of transactions in the several transactions is very high and they are spread across several places. The Court further held that the evidence that needs to be collected involves several agencies and might be several number of Documents and the offences are cognizable and non-bailable and allegations are serious, and accordingly the Court ordered the Bandra Police Station to file an FIR under sections 120-B, 406, 420, 465, 468, 471, 500 and 506, r/w.34 of  the IPC.

The development has brought the focus back once again on the controversies that followed the release of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and now all eyes are on how the legal proceedings will unfold.
