Inox Raj Imperial multiplex in Surat sets unprecedented record with 48-hour non-stop screenings of Pushpa: The Rule – Part 2

The cinematic juggernaut Pushpa: The Rule – Part 2 is rewriting the history of Indian cinema with its unprecedented buzz and massive fan frenzy. Taking a revolutionary step, the Inox Raj Imperial multiplex in Surat has announced 48 hours of uninterrupted screenings of the film (dubbed version) across all six of its screens this weekend. Starting today, Saturday morning, these round-the-clock shows will continue without a break until Monday morning – an achievement that may have never been attempted before in the history of film exhibition.

The fever pitch surrounding the sequel stems from the immense love for the original, Pushpa: The Rise, which turned Allu Arjun into a pan-Indian superstar. Reprising his role as the larger-than-life yet relatable Pushpa Raj, Allu Arjun promises an even more explosive performance in this sequel. Known for his magnetic screen presence, iconic swagger, and unparalleled dance moves, Arjun has become the heart and soul of the franchise, with fans across India eagerly awaiting his return to the big screen.

The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, who plays Srivalli, Pushpa’s love interest, bringing emotional depth and charm to the narrative. Fahadh Faasil, who made a memorable entry as the menacing antagonist SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat in the first part, is expected to raise the stakes further in the sequel. Directed by the visionary Sukumar, Pushpa: The Rule – Part 2 promises a riveting mix of high-octane action, gripping storytelling, and chart-topping music composed by Devi Sri Prasad (DSP).

The film has already shattered records with its advance bookings, and Inox Raj Imperial’s decision to dedicate all six of its screens for continuous screenings is a testament to the unprecedented demand. Industry insiders predict a thunderous opening weekend, with packed theaters across the country and enthusiastic audiences cheering for their favorite hero.

It’s not just the sheer volume of screenings that’s impressive – it’s the atmosphere the film has created. Fans are already quoting dialogues, recreating Pushpa’s signature mannerisms, and humming DSP’s chartbusters even before stepping into the theaters. This cultural phenomenon has transcended languages and regions, cementing Pushpa: The Rule – Part 2 as a truly pan-Indian spectacle.

As Allu Arjun’s character famously declares in the sequel (Hindi dubbed), “Pushpa naam sunke flower samjhe kya? Fire hai main!” That fire is now spreading far and wide, igniting a wildfire of excitement that is blazing across the country and beyond. With such a roaring start, Pushpa: The Rule – Part 2 is set to rewrite the rules of the box office and deliver an experience audiences won’t forget anytime soon.

Mamta Kulkarni denies involvement in Rs 2,000 crore drug case; says, “The court has also given me a clean chit in the case”

Mamta Kulkarni has addressed the ₹2,000 crore drug case, asserting her innocence. Speaking exclusively to CNN-News18 after returning to Mumbai after 25 years, the actress denied any involvement in Vicky Goswami’s illegal activities. Mamta explained that although she accompanied Vicky to Kenya in 2015, she was unaware of his dealings or meetings.

“I knew Vicky. In the case that the police mentioned in 2015, I went to meet Vicky in Kenya. But I did not know with whom he held a meeting there. The police put my name in the drugs case but I have nothing to do with his business. Today, the court has also given me a clean chit in the case,” she stated.

In 2015, Mamta Kulkarni made headlines after being named in a drug trafficking case. The Thane police alleged that she was involved in supplying ephedrine for the illegal production of methamphetamine, linked to a ₹2,000 crore international drug racket and gangster, intended for trafficking.

Reports suggested that Mamta Kulkarni, along with her partner Vicky Goswami and other co-accused, attended a meeting related to an international drug ring in Kenya in January 2016. However, the Bombay High Court later quashed the FIR against her and cleared her of all charges.

Mamta Kulkarni starred in several hit Hindi films, including Ram Lakhan, Waqt Hamara Hai, Krantiveer, Karan Arjun, Sabse Bada Khiladi, Andolan, and Baazi. Her last Bollywood appearance was in 2002. Her 1995 film Karan Arjun, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Kajol, was re-released in cinemas on November 22.

Mamta recently announced her return to India after 25 years through a video on her social media, saying, “Hi guys, this is Mamta Kulkarni, and I just came to India, Bombay, Mumbai, Amchi, Mumbai after 25 years.”

Aamir Khan REACTS to Shah Rukh Khan’s view on Indian films securing nominations at the Oscars: “People forget that this is the toughest category”

Actor Aamir Khan, whose film Lagaan remains the last Indian movie to secure a nomination in the Oscars’ Best International Feature category, recently shared his thoughts on why Indian films often struggle to generate attention at the Academy Awards. Speaking during the promotion of Laapataa Ladies, India’s official submission for the Oscars this year, Aamir voiced his disagreement with fellow actor Shah Rukh Khan’s perspective on the subject.

Shah Rukh Khan’s View on Indian Films at Oscars
In an earlier interview, Shah Rukh Khan attributed the lack of Indian films at the Oscars to their format, saying, “We have to change the format of our films. If I’m invited to your party, I need to dress up in the code you tell me to. I cannot be wearing my code of two and a half hours and five songs.” Shah Rukh also pointed out that Lagaan succeeded because it was a blend of art and commercial cinema, describing it as a “wonderfully made film.”
Aamir Khan’s Response
Aamir Khan respectfully disagreed with Shah Rukh’s assessment. “No, I don’t agree. I don’t agree. Because Lagaan was three hours and 42 minutes. And it had six songs. And it got nominated,” he explained in an interview with BBC Asian Network.

According to Aamir, the quality of storytelling and the emotional impact of a film are what matter most. “To get nominated, the members really have to love your film. Lagaan proves that a film with songs, which is also very long, is not a problem for the Academy members. It depends on how good your work is and how you’re able to touch hearts,” he added.
The Challenges of Securing an Oscar Nomination
Aamir explained the complexity of securing a nomination in the Best International Feature category. “People forget that this is the toughest category at the Oscars. You’re competing with the best film from each country. In India alone, we make 1000 films a year. To be selected from India, you have to first beat 1000 films. And then you’re in an arena where there are 80 other films. To be nominated among 80 films is itself tough,” he explained.
Indian Films and the Oscars: A Mixed Journey
So far, only three Indian films—Mother India, Salaam Bombay, and Lagaan—have been nominated in the Best International Feature category. However, recent years have seen a surge in international recognition for Indian cinema. RRR won the Best Original Song category, and The Elephant Whisperers triumphed in Best Documentary Short.

Aamir remains hopeful about India’s chances this year with Laapataa Ladies, directed by his ex-wife Kiran Rao and produced by him. The film’s selection and promotion continue the country’s ongoing efforts to make a mark at the prestigious awards.
