Producer Dinesh Vijan and director Amar Kaushik, fresh off the success of Stree 2, will reunite to bring the epic tale of Chiranjeevi Parashurama to life in Mahavatar, starring Vicky Kaushal. Slated for a Christmas 2026 release, Mahavatar will explore the legendary figure of Parashurama, with Kaushal embodying the titular role.

This marks Vicky Kaushal’s third collaboration with Vijan, following Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and the upcoming Chhaava. With a screenplay by Niren Bhatt, Mahavatar aims to blend mythological grandeur with contemporary storytelling, a trend Kaushik has successfully established in his previous works.

As per a notice sent on behalf of Dr Mondal, represented by legal advisor Nripendra Krishna Roy, claims that The Great Indian Kapil Show allegedly disparages the legacy of Nobel laureate Rabindra Nath Tagore and risks offending cultural and religious sentiments. While rumors have been circulating about Salman Khan’s production house, receiving a legal notice, the company’s representative has issued a clear statement denying any association with the show aired on Netflix.

In the statement – Salman Khan’s representative clarifies that we have no association with The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix. Certain sections of the media are reporting that Salman Khan / SKTV have also received the notice, which is incorrect as we are not associated with The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix.

The statement from Salman Khan’s team clarifies that the production house is no longer associated with any operations of the show aired on Netflix and is not affected by the legal notice in any way.

The film will be a grand retelling of the ancient legend of Chiranjeevi Parashurama. It will be directed by Amar Kaushik, known for his distinctive narrative style in Stree and Bhediya, and stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead role. Positioned as a large-scale epic, Mahavatar promises to combine mythology with modern storytelling to captivate audiences worldwide.

Slated for a Christmas 2026 release, the film will be Maddock Films’ first venture into mythology, departing from their usual domain of contemporary stories. Vicky Kaushal will embody the powerful and complex role of Parashurama. The film is expected to be a visual and narrative spectacle, packed with drama, intense action, and a thematic depth that appeals to modern viewers while respecting the sanctity of the ancient text.

The film’s story centers on Chiranjeevi Parashurama, one of the seven eternal immortals (or Chiranjeevis) in Hindu mythology, who is revered as a warrior sage and a symbol of resilience, penance, and retribution. The mythological character of Parashurama is often depicted as an avatar of Vishnu, the protector, but he is also known for his fiery temper and his role as a fierce warrior who wields an axe, which he received as a divine blessing.

Parashurama’s life and legend revolve around his quest to uphold dharma (justice) and his struggles against oppression, both internal and external. Parashurama is portrayed as a wise sage and a fearsome warrior in the Mahabharata, Ramayana, and various Puranas. His mission to rid the earth of corrupt rulers has inspired generations, and Mahavatar aims to capture this complexity, presenting Parashurama as a layered character navigating the duality of peace and war.

The film will go on floors in November 2025. Interestingly, this marks Vicky Kaushal’s second project with Maddock Films following Chhaava.

Producer-Director Rakesh Roshan is leaving no stone unturned to make the re-release of Karan Arjun an unforgettable event. After treating audiences to a teaser—a feat unprecedented in the original 1995 release—Rakesh Roshan has now unveiled the film’s trailer with a fresh twist.

The 1-minute, 47-second trailer showcases Karan Arjun’s story, narrated by Hrithik Roshan, in a bid to pay homage to the cult classic film.

Thirty years ago, Hrithik Roshan was Karan Arjun’s Associate Director. Today, he gives tribute to his association with the film by lending his voice to the trailer.

Hrithik Roshan said in a heartfelt social media post, “That afternoon in 1992 ( I think) when we were all sitting around dads living room with the writers brainstorming on the screenplay for KARAN ARJUN, after another long spell of silence in the room ( sometimes these silences lasted more than 10-15 mins) and suddenly dad went “ ek idea aaya “ and he went on to tell us how he saw the beats of the interval fight sequence , and as he talked , his emotions escalated and at the height of the crescendo in his mind he shouted “ and then he screams भाग अर्जुन !!!! bhaaaaaag अर्जुन !!!! And me as a 17 year old experienced my first jolt of audience euphoria !!! My hair stood on ends, the room was applauding like in a movie theatre ! And I was addicted from that day onwards !!

And that’s also when I knew in my bones that this movie was going to be a BLOCKBUSTER!!

30 years later, I cannot wait to witness the reincarnation of Karan Arjun in theatres worldwide from November 22nd 2024.”

Karan Arjun’s trailer will also be hard attached to the upcoming theatrical releases, Kanguva and The Sabarmati Report. While the former releases on November 14, the latter arrives in cinemas on November 15.

Mumbai Police on Tuesday arrested an aspiring songwriter for allegedly sending threatening messages to Bollywood actor Salman Khan and demanding Rs. 5 crores in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, an official reported.

Police claimed that Sohail Pasha, arrested in Raichur, Karnataka, intended to make a song he wrote and resorted to this scheme for publicity. On November 7, the Mumbai traffic police’s WhatsApp helpline received several messages claiming that the sender was part of the Bishnoi gang, threatening to kill Salman Khan if he didn’t pay Rs. 5 crores. The sender also warned that the writer of the song ‘Main Sikandar Hoon’ would be killed.

The Mumbai Police crime branch traced the mobile number used to send the threatening messages to Raichur. A team was dispatched to Karnataka, where they interrogated Vyankatesh Narayan, the owner of the number. However, Narayan’s phone did not have internet access. Police later discovered that his phone had received a WhatsApp installation OTP, leading to further investigation.

Narayan told the police that on November 3, a stranger approached him in a marketplace, asking to borrow his phone to make a call. Investigations revealed that the man had used Narayan’s phone number to install WhatsApp on his own phone by obtaining an OTP. The crime branch then traced the suspect to Pasha in Manavi village near Raichur.

Pasha, the writer of the song ‘Main Sikandar Hoon’ mentioned in the threat, admitted to using the scheme to gain fame for his song by including it in a threat directed at Salman Khan. Pasha was brought to Mumbai and handed over to Worli police for further investigation. The traffic police helpline had previously received at least four threatening messages targeting Salman Khan in recent months.

Much to the disappointment of the OG No Entry fans, earlier reports suggested that the casting of the Anees Bazmee comedy has undergone quite a bit of changes. When they announced Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh as the lead trio, it sparked another wave of excitement among movie buffs who have never seen them together before. While they eagerly await an update about the Anees Bazmee directorial, the Singham Again actor decided to drop a major update about his film with the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 director.

Arjun Kapoor, although refrained from sharing any progress on the film, opened up about doing No Entry 2 to Pinkvilla saying, “I think Anees Bazmee is the right person to speak about it and so is Boney Kapoor.” However, he is hopeful that the film may go on floors in 2025. “We are three actors who are doing the film together. Fingers crossed, everything falls into place, works out, and we are able to make it happen next year,” he added.

He went on to express his happiness over doing a comedy film and also about sharing screen space with his friend Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh as he shared, “I’m very very excited. I love comedy. I don’t think I have done enough comedy, so meri bhookh woh thi ke (my hunger was) actually to go into comedy.” He continued, “To work with a friend like Varun to be able to work with somebody like Diljit who is so inspirational, the way he is as a person and the work that he does. Anees bhai ke saath main Mubarakan kar chuka hoon (I’ve done Mubarkan with Anees) so I know exactly what he is capable of, and we are seeing it with Bhool Bhulaiyaa also being such a huge success – master of comedy, and I am going home to my father and doing a home production.”

In the same interaction, Arjun also opened up about the comic timing of his two co-stars wherein he revealed that he is a fan of Diljit in Good Newwz and described Varun Dhawan as natkhat (mischievous).
